Factory bowling balls are balanced and molded twice. White plastic encases the core. Multi color plastic finishes the second outer layer for a full sized balanced bowling ball. The white dot tells where the core axis of rotation is. In the pro shop, the technician measures the size of your fingers, and your grip angle to make a personal special ball. Then he asks how much angle of deviation you want to make the bal curve. I always ask for zero deviation. So, I end with a house ball and reactive ball in one. I give the angle of deviation with my forearm tilt. If the palm of my hand on release is facing upward, I make a straight throw. If my hand goes 90 degrees, my throw is a sharp curve.

Why does it seem to roll so 'roughly'? Is it not perfectly rounded? If so, can you use a sanding machine with like 300 grit sandpaper to properly round it? I'd like to see what it can do.

No, what this will start is people trying to start thier own bowling ball company and not having the experience or expertise to do it right like overseas balls are perfect but we cant use thenyeah the ball did crazy things with illegal core unrated surface or reaction im sure bowling balls are not just bs blends of random epoxy and color.

Dude, I love your content and I’d be happy to help on designing a mold for making homemade bowling balls. You’d need to round it with some abralon on a machine that would spin your bowling ball around for a cleaner finish however. Your pro shop might have one.
Imagine if this backed up at higher speeds such as from 15mph... I could definitely see it being an advantage to right handers since they could play on the left side of the lane without needing to throw a backup ball, they could then theoretically avoid the oil movement of the other right handers they play against.
the only issue is that it loses so much of its speed by doing that

awesome action on that offset core. Now that you have a mold, youll have to start casting odd things as cores and use clear resin. Although im sure that gets pretty expensive real quick. Thanks for pushing bowling ball technology outside of its comfort zone.

Love the Brunswick on the masking unit despite having AMF pinsetters
Cores are already offset weighted, you moving it further out only causes it to have a speed wobble effect on the ball. Add lead weights to the heavy side of the core and then center it for a better result.
You should make bowling balls and sell them so we can buy them with offset cores to enjoy it lol I would defiantly buy one: Also Next video Idea make 2 core bowling ball and see what happens
Hahaha awesome. When I was drilling balls I had an old c300 throttle up I plugged and redrilled. I put a weight hole in it just experimenting and it did something similar it would go down and then almost looked like it backed up. I'm curious as to why now.

i think it doesn't hook because the core is spinning with the ball so the offset core might be going from the left side of the ball to the right side of the ball displacing the weight

I imagine if you put more of a straight over the top spin as opposed to the side spin you might get a better pull to the left from the core, but cool video.

Cool ball. It shows how difficult it really is to 1. Make a bowling ball and 2. Make a bowling ball that consitently rolls well.
Why you don't try to repair a damaged bowling ball by filling the cracks with clear resin and remake it by grinding.? This will take less spending and produce a working repaired ball without messing with the core.

had a thought, would going brooklyn pretty much act as a normal strike thrown from the left side due to the ball backing up on its own? I feel like normal strikes would be reversed with brooklyn because the ball changes direction (or tries to). wierd stuff
you really should visit a factory that makes bowling balls and see how they do it and also possibly buy an actual mold. I would also suggest that you put the core closer to the middle of the ball and use a symmetrical core. Another thing that might make the ball look even cooler is to use 2-4 different colors but poor them all in the mold at the same time.
What if you put surface on the ball’s track flare only, for a video idea( the flare might be insane because it will change )
When that ball hits the right pocket it refuses to drive the 5 pin into the 7. That ball hits like a 6 pounder. lol

Couple things:
1. You should measure how much side weight this ball has. Legal limit is 3 ounces; I’m guessing at least 2 pounds.

cap the thumb hole and redrill it so it's faced the other way. That way you're actually throwing with the core.
