These are great, and durable too, they will last years as long as they are not abused. Perfect for inhouse use...if you want premium feeling you just need to change the stock pads for some memory foam ones, gamechanger (really)
i wear my sammys walking to work, next to a busy street, and honestly they still sound great for me. would just be inconsiderate if anyone else doesnt want to hear inside though lol
theyre also super comfy! can wear these all day and night without an issue, leather padded closed backs tend to make my ears feel all gross after a few hours
Hello! I just ordered my pair of SR850's (for 24 usd!). There are just a couple issues that I'd want to ask so that I won't have very high expectations. 1.) Is the clamping force an issue? And if so, does it ease up in the long term? 2.) Are the earpads touching your ears, or are they completely over-ears? I'm just a bit concerned by their circular shape. Thanks!
Another thing to note, this is my first dive to the headphone scene. I've always been an IEM guy, but I wanted to try the marvelous soundstage. I'm also by no means an audiophile, but a bit more sensitive than the casual listener when listening to music.
Clamping force isn't an issue for me, but it'll feel different depending on your head size. And the ear pads are completely over ear for me, but if you have really large ears they might actually touch the pads. Overall it's pretty comfy, but it's a bit warm.
@@sirzackefeller Thank you so much for your reply! Yeah, I think I could change the earpads for something else down the road. From where I live, it gets pretty hot
I got one used for $30 a few weeks ago. Audio gets even better if you use an equalizer like the Wavelet app* (link at the bottom) to boost the base or tune the mids/highs. A physical equalizer or amp/equalizer combo device works best, but as long as your pair of headphones is rated under 80 ohms (the SR850s are 32 ohms) using an app on your phone is just more convenient. As for clamping force, I had to bend the headband ever so slightly outward to reduce it just enough to be comfortable, but still enough to not get knocked-off my head easily. The included fleece-like earpads do get a bit warm or hot depending on the temperature of the room (leather or faux leather PU earpads are even worse). I ended getting these 110mm velvet-like velour earpads on Amazon which were A LOT more comfy and less hot: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QTG2H7N/ They come in 60-120mm sizes to accommodate a wide range of headphone and ear sizes, but the 105mm or 110mm should fit Samson SR850s the best. ****play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pittvandewitt.wavelet*

My SR850 started breaking down after 3 years of use. I see some Amazon reviews where people had them broken in a much shorter time. Here's what I liked about SR850 : - sound quality - fully acceptable. I enjoyed both communicating with my colleagues (working from home) and also watching movies, listening to music (light rock, ambient, world music, ethnic electronica) and gaming. SR850 has a pretty neutral sound. - comfort - they were on the tight side at first but keeping them stretched on a pillow for some days helped a lot :) However, I have a small head, I'm a short and skinny person. Otherwise, they were just fine for all the years. No sweating at all. However, the top band was a total grease collector and also felt too warm on my head sometimes. - open back. I need to hear people around me. What's wrong with SR850 , you'll ask? - build quality - they have served me well for about 3 years but now they are falling apart. Essentially, all the plastic pieces just broke at the places around screw holes. I shouldn't ask for more, I guess, for the price I paid ($40, if I remember correctly). - the cord is smearing my clothes. I cleaned it with alcohol and whatnot, and still, after a few days, I always notice a dark spot on my clothes at that exact location where the cord rubs at my chest.
I don't know what do you do with your headphones but there is no reason for the Sr850 to break under normal use. I got mine for around 10 years and they are still kicking...the foam is long gone however, and those pads are hard as bricks (maybe yours are from a different material due to date of manufacturing). But honestly even 3 years is plenty of time for 50 usd cans, I've seen expensive ones die quicker than that (looks at Sony).
It’ll be toasty but it depends on your heat tolerance. Doe you normally wear over the ear headphones there? If you do then these will probably be fine.
The hights and high mids of these headphones are much too aggressive, true ear killers! Don't hear them too loud, they will make you deaf within a short time!
This is some amazing quality of content. How does this guy have only 500 subs?
Right?
Great review! If i should have guessed, i would think you have like 200k subs. Hope you keep making content like this!👍
Thank you 🙏 one of these days 😌
this headphone is a tank! very sturdy and robust. I’ve had them for a year and still working great. I mix with these cans!

Thanks for the tip! I might eventually get around to chaining the pads, but winter is on the horizon so I don't mind the warm velour haha.

Great review !!👍
Great video!
thanks for watching bruv! glad you enjoyed it :)
samson sr850 vs sr950??which one is good for mixing n mastering??i live in place where sound is much ambient..pls reply
SR850, the 950 is closed back, and have higher bass therefore altered sounding, it is simply inferior to 850 in sound directly.
@@cataclysmal5315 thanks mate..i already purchased 850 and i am happy 😊
mic will pick up sounds from the headphones? omg
so does this work in the phillipines i think the average temp is 30 degrees celcious

@@sirzackefeller I just sweat on it sometimes
there's a lot of compatible earpads in aliexpress/Amazon that work better for hot places
how much is the sound leakage on these?
Mine not much but sometimes noticeable
There are semi-open back, so they will leak a considerable amount of noise. Not something you wanna use on a bus or you’ll make people uncomfortable
mans got jokes lmao
