Man the music press has done you dirty. Literally a headline about throwing sandwiches at Fred Durst at age 15 😂

Limp Bizkit sucks. Anyone that says otherwise just show them the RUclips video of Fred Durst playing guitar. 😂

I can understand hating a lot of the new metal stuff back then, and now but I feel like Deftones are in a category of their own. Give them another listen, they are one of my favorites and have been since 1996 when I saw them in a tiny club.

I kind of suspected you'd enjoy joining a Sabbath cover band! Maybe you could drop in for a guest spot at a gig someday, heh. Thanks for passing it on! When I lived in Chicago I saw Bruce with Yakuza many times, and a couple cool Bloodiest shows, but had no idea he was in a Zep cover band! Would love to see that.
Nice list of "Bob" riffs ;) I know the Cianide guys! Favorite Chicago death metal band. I met them through tattoo artist friend Ben Wahh.

Thought I'd add my take on BabyMetal. In 2016 my wife and I celebrated our honeymoon at Download Paris (mainly to see Iron Maiden and Rammstein) and BabyMetal were playing. We were aware of what they are but, having never listened to them, we decided to have a look see what the fuss was about. After laughing through the first 3 songs (I'd personally had never heard/seen anything like it) we started to get into it for what it was, a gimmick in my opinion, and enjoyed the silliness of it. Could have been the beers! We are not fans, nor would I pay solely to see the band, but it was entertaining for what it was at the time. I will comment that the band behind the girls were tight and very good at what they do. I'll also add that I absolutely disagree with how these girls are treated in Japan (Idols), having kids of my own I don't understand how parents would be happy to allow their children to go through that shit. I tried BabyMetal on my daughter when she was about 4yr but she didn't like it and requested more Lamb Of God haha!

When you were in Gatecreeper, can it be said that the Bolt Thrower influence in the sound didn’t come from you then? Was that more from Chase and the rest of the guys?

I know Spirit Adrift for couple of years. I didnt do my research about the members of the band mainly because I like more the "core" spectrum of heavy music. But if I got the urge of old school riffy heavy metal i put your band and enjoy your music. I found your podcast recently. I dont agree with some of your opinions about music like "this band or style are not real" which come quite bit gatekeepy and snoby but I enjoy listening to you. You are well spoken, passionate about music, knowledgable. Keep giving your opinion and share your passion with the world. The metal world need more people like you.
P.s. I am not a baby metal fan btw. Heard only one track by them. Lol

He is right though. Not everything is real metal just because a person thinks it is and honestly there probably isn’t enough gatekeeping in metal now. Earn your place.

20:00 that’s actually a thing in Japan. Child p… inspired videos and sex dolls are openly sold there on that ridiculous theory.

I am glad you discussed this horrible topic. I appreciate your viewpoint on this. Kids need a lot of protection right now. I hope you never have to discuss this again on your channel.

2001 Ozzfest Dallas Texas- Black Label Society opens the main stage and kills it. Near the end of the set Zakk pops a Becks, downs it, steps up to the mic and screams FUCK LIMP BIZKIT, FUUCK RAP METAL, AND FUCK CRAZY TOWN AND ALL THAT BULLSHIT then they launch into Superterrorizor to end the set. Like 15min later Crazy Town takes the stage LOOOLLLL. They paid to play on that tour, and it got real bad that day. They wished we were throwing sandwiches at them by the end I guarantee it.

I think the "fallout" you are seeing for the last video shows that you are on target.
