What a lovely song and what terrific harmony. First heard it in 1961 when I was at Kings College, Durham University, UK and as a poor student, I could not afford to buy the record. So I would thrill everytime I heard it on the radio. Now thanks to you kind post, I can hear it again and again, any time. Wonderful memories. Thanks

What a beautiful composition sang with such eloquence, splendor, and perfect harmony, I can't speak highly enough of Dusty Springfield and her sheer talent but I'm not taking anything away from her brother's songwriting brilliance. I am 61 years old and this music will always live in my memory, it's as natural as bird song to me, I love it, it has a spirit and signature all of its own.

That said, there are some talented musicians around today but they tend to be less high profile and don't get into the Top 50 (not that the Top 50 is a worthwhile measure of anything these days).
This song, by Tom Springfield, is beautiful and one of my all-time favorites. Love this clip- it's so simple, with no fancy choreography or any othe distractions. Perfect!

Oh hell this takes me back to the 1960’s in the front room with the record player balanced on books and plugged into the light socket. This was one of the few records that my parents had. Brings back really good memories.
Plugged into the light socket? Gosh, the world seemed a more interesting, exciting place back then, before they invented “health and safety” and people were left alone to enjoy life, I’ll bet the music sounded better for it too, instead of today’s detached and mindless clicking on and streaming of a song

Fantastic song and the first record I bought (cost 6/8d). I remember it at their breakup concert at the Palladium and thought things would never be the same. Dusty's debut solo 'I only want to be with you' changed that misapprehension. Great thing about the 60s, things only got better. Unlike ....

I love so much 60's songs. I totally agree with you. What a so funny period ! But it s a long time ago. Hi from France 🇫🇷
Indeed! This is perfection.
Well Judith Durham is up there too. But as much as I love Judith, Dusty and Tom do thi song to perfection.
Agree so much & no skimpy clothing required to sing...Great stuff aye
I somewhat agree. Check out Josh Turner videos you wont be disappointed.
