I recently tried TS-21 Gold with Clear Red, and yes it did come out dull. However problem was solved when gloss coat is applied. At first I'd thought it was due to the environment conditions (i was spraying outdoors). Hope it helps some people!

First, v thanks for the video...talk about very helpful info. Since you did this video, they have definitely added additional colors - green, yellow, purple, silver...possibly others (I didn't bother checking online). Personally, I have an upcoming project that I purchased the translucent blue & silver. As I plan on lightly backing the blue with the silver, I'll have to do several 'tests' to determine exactly how many layers of each to achieve what I'm hoping to do.
Awesome test. I've been meaning to try out the spray cans in these colors since these are lacquer. Definitely decant though and push through a airbrush because spraying from the can is an incredible waste of paint. But when that's not an option for people those cans work great.
I bought my first Tamiya spray cans and they turned out pretty good. First TFD 1/64 slot car body had some sandpaper scratch marks after first coating. I went to 800 grit for next one and Slightly heavier coating. Turned out great. The huge spray pattern is way overkill for this use. Just not sure if I need/want to coat with a clear. I tried to turn over to clear out the tip on my first can, but it just sprayed color wasting paint. At almost $9 a can now with shipping since I can't get locally for just one slot car body it's expensive, but quick.

Hey friend ! great video, these videos about tamiya paints are not common here on youtube, it helps us a lot in our hobby, I wanted a shade of red that was bright, red but light, which of these tamiya colors would you recommend?
Please do a test of the Mr Color Spray cans. They have a huge line of colors and I’m wondering if they are decent and how well do they compare to the 10ml lacquer bottles. For example they have a Metallic Blue color. I think it’s # 76. How well does it match the airbrush paint.
These dry fairly quick. So about a couple minutes between coats. Practice on a spoon, that way you can touch the paint to see how long it takes to get tacky
