  • Let's Rock!! Three chords A, D and E were all that was needed to create some of the most iconic pop and rock songs in history. This lesson will show you how to make the most of those 3 chords and have listeners believe you're playing 2 guitars! Download my 'FREE' idiot proof finger position charts here: www.bluenotegu...
    PS. I'm playing on acoustic so you can hear the notes clearly - play it on electric with distortion and volume and it'll blow your head off!

    Yes Rob, I would like to improve the left and right hand technique on classical guitar . So a group of nice exercises and pieces ( not necessarily scales ) arpeggios, single notes etc .In so doing not stressing when playing , so to be as comfortable as possible on both hands which I think is part of the skill. Also the relationship between your charts, tabs, and musical notation , so bringing out the rhythm and tune easier.

      Yes, there’s already plenty of stuff on the site if you go back and have a look. Classical, country, Travis picking, Chet Atkins picking styles, Donovan etc etc. give me an idea of what you’d like to do and I’ll check it out. 👍🏻

    Hi Rob, I am 70 and finally brought myself a decent guitar a Yamaha. FG-TA ( no amp required) Trying to play cheap guitars is pointless. (too hard) Thanks to you, I do not feel embarrassed playing in front of my friends, in fact I love the look of astonishment in their faces when I play a song . I still find the Yamaha a bit bulky, could you recommend a reasonably priced guitar ? Top man, cheers. Bill

      Hi Bill, try looking for a second hand Takamine, Martin or Taylor. I never buy new guitars as, like a pair of shoes, they need to be worn in. It may have a few scratches etc, but it’s the quality of the guitar and how easy it is to play that’s important. 👍🏻

    Does being able to “see the shapes of scales/notes on the fingerboard and simply practicing them (slowly at first) to get finger memorisation then speeding up using a metronome, ensure finger dexterity and speed increase?

    • @fennahrob6934
      @fennahrob6934  6 месяцев назад +2

      Think shapes not notes. Think of it this way, we don’t think of each letter when we speak; music is the same.

    • @earthling-fh2mg
      @earthling-fh2mg 6 месяцев назад

      @@fennahrob6934Ok but when trying to increase finger dexterity and speed for soloing etc (flying through arpeggios for just one example), what’s the best/most effective and efficient way of increasing speed? I know this is nothing to do with this particular lesson but I can do what you have shown here (while it’s still valuable to revisit and experiment with).

    • @fennahrob6934
      @fennahrob6934  6 месяцев назад +3

      Just play over and over again. You have to treat playing guitar as you would a physical sport. It’s all about repetition and muscle memory. Only practice and time will suffice.
