Have you tried the playback with different media (DVD-Video, CD-DA...)?
Are you sure that the issue is with the player? Have you tested your audio-amplifier (if you use one)?

@@luiscarvalho1960 Try connecting the audio cables to some other device which has an audio input, just to confirm that the problem is really located in the DVD-player. If there is no sound again and if that's the case for all media types, then the problem needs to be investigated inside the audio output stage in the DVD-player. If you are not a qualified electronics technician, from this point forward it would be difficult to give you an advice on what exactly to do next.

Useful Video, I own a philips MCD183 DVD micro system, currently it has this strange problem. There is no sound output coming from speakers and earphone out. But If I connect its RCA audio out to tv or another device (while watching a dvd )I can hear the sound. What could be the error with this system? Any Help is Appreciated. Thanks

The problem is most likely located in the audio amplifier section, in particular the output power amplifier integrated circuit. I would start the troubleshooting there.

I assume that you would like to add to your DVD player a new functionality: media playback from a USB flash drive. I'm not sure how old is that model, but in general it is very likely that if the DVD processor used in your model had that feature by design, they would already have included that to be available. Still, if you are curious you can open and check which processor is used and then find its datasheet to see its features. Even if there is such functionality not activated or used by the manufacturer, you'll be challenged to find the way how to activate it or where to find appropriate updated firmware for the player.

If you are talking about checking the voltages at 10:20, yes, the player was on (not in standby).

Yes, I have received other similar comments regarding the background music. I can tell you that I have experimented with various options during the editing of my review and repair videos and some sections sounded a bit odd without music. Simple design, cheap equipment. It is better not to repair, buy a new one.
