started watching u 5 months ago with my phone now am watching u from my pc thanks for u and other youtubers am now starting to learn video editing. videos like this always give me a push to start my freelance career thanks mate keep up.
I got my first video editing gig last month, it's part-time at a studio, the pay is a little more than the minimum, getting money, good experience, & connections, so it's a good start.
As someone who has recently left my main job to become freelance I can confirm most of my work is now from recurring clients, I now have 2 'fulltime' retainer style monthly jobs aswell as the odd trickle of one off jobs through the month.
I have to go freelance because I want to live abroad but if I was able to do something full time remotely I would take that option as long as it allowed me to work from anywhere in the world
Could you do an editing walkthrough where you edit something and tell us each thing your doing and what it does. I feel like it would help any newbies myself included, and if you attach the media your using so we can download it and follow along that’d be great.
Right or wrong,I'm glad to see that we share the same opinion. I'm a begginer when it comes to video editing and I feel really unconfortable on trying to reach out for random clients. How will I make a good job if I'm editing footage that it's not appealling to me? I'm always thinking that I have to find a few clients/employers willing to bet on my potencial and stick with them. Thank you for letting me believe that I'm actually on to something.
It matters at country you live in. For instance in Slovakia there are maybe 5 jobs for video editor on all job portals combined. And they want you to have some insane skills for only slightly above average payment.
Hey Charles, do you think it is okay to put the customers I worked for when I was a full time employee to my portfolio list if I’m going Freelance? I know these customers where found by the company and didn’t come to me but I did work for these clients and now I was wondering if it’s allowed / would be a good a day to put those clients in my showreel, website etc.
What do you mean by there’s tons of opportunities out there for full-time video editing jobs.. where are they? On sites like indeed and cv-library there are only a few jobs to be honest..
thats true i got into freelancing put gigs on fiverr, upwork dosent work but twitter and discord i got some work from there there is no straight way to become a video editing freelancer
As someone who's trying to become a full time editor, this video really helps out.

I've been waiting for this video ever since you mentioned it in your Livestream.

I'm glad you found something helpful in this!
If you are getting a job BC u feel "uncomfortable reaching out" then you are just delaying your future a couple years BC you are gonna need to do this
