CONJECTURE ONLY: Once the helicopter pilot acknowledged the tower that they saw the jet (the one taking off, not the one landing), said pilot felt safe in increasing altitude and it cost the lives of 67 people. I firmly believe the pilot of the helicopter should have maintained his allotted 200 foot altitude thus avoiding the deadly collision.
It seems like the tower should’ve still been able to let them know there are two planes and asked WHICH ONE were they advising they had eyes on. This could’ve been prevented 100%. Doesn’t seem right👀
Bells and whistles and alarms would have been going crazy in the cockpit of the plane and the helicopter. This was deliberate and I'm not even convinced that there was anyone in the chopper. They can be remotely flown now. We're being lied to.
That's not true. TCAS is good above 1000ft, but below no. And who was talking to ATC if not helo? Pilots are human and helo probably mistook one plane for another. He still broke rules, just accept that military have superiority complex and do what they want.
@cissyiniguez Maybe so. I'll concede your point. Still, these events are real but scripted. It just gets worse from here in every way imaginable. This is regardless of who is President. That position means absolutely nothing.
@@cissyiniguezactually I just saw another video showing the Blackhawk can be flown remotely. They've been practicing with lifting injured persons from one area and taking them to another without a physical pilot. Think about it if they're doing it with cars for public use that technology has already been attempted by the military.
Plus 3 pilots. Plus it's 2025 when cars drive themselves. Plus flying higher than normal. Plus everyone jumped to accident way sooner than they should. Then another crash. Nope.
The controller could have and now, in retrospect, should have been more specific about the airplane he pointed out. He could have said to look for the plane approaching runway 33. The helo pilot would never have mistaken that instructions the plane just taking off. I still can’t really believe he thought the tower was talking about the guy taking off. That seems like a bonehead mistake. The voice recorders will help.
One of the comments I read is that the tower should have been more explicit in transmissions. Rather than asking if the helicopter sees the aircraft, he should have have stated the location , with altitude and speed
When watching the incident video, there’s also an aircraft behind the the jet that the helo collided with. Maybe the helo crew was focusing on it? It’s also known that flying in that airspace at night, the city lights and aircraft lights have a tendency to blend together. One thing that stood out to me when studying the recorded flight data of both aircraft, the helo altitude increased from the required 200ft, to 300ft at the time of the collision. The regional jet altitude also decreased from 400ft to 300ft at the time of impact. I looked at airspace map for Reagan and saw the helo route and its max altitude of 200ft. Once the route gets south of Reagan, the altitude note in creases to 300 ft. Maybe the helo pilot increased altitude too soon? Maybe the regional jet pilot descended too low on the flight profile? Regardless, a terrible situation.
I would’ve been more confident if a regular former black hawk pilot was there, rather than a guy that obviously currently has pretty close connections to the govt. It definitely gave off clean up crew vibes.
Even if they mistook that plane for the other plane that was behind it, they had agreed with the tower that they would pass behind it. They would’ve been holding at a safe distance.
I get what he is saying, but if they’re gonna confirm, and there were two planes in sight, they should’ve confirmed both planes and confirm that they see the one closer to them
Exactly… Granted, I have zero background in aviation, but wouldn’t the thing have been, do you see both planes. “ The plane closest to you is at xyz coordinates”

Jamal i get what you're saying. They still should have seen the plane in front of them. We can see a plane from the ground at night because of the lights. So why they couldn't see both planes ??
I can see what he's saying in the video. The plane in the forefront has the really bright light and then you see the other one off in the distance. If the pilots couldn't see the Blackhawk visually, it should've popped up on the radar. I've been on a quick landing diversion and that stuff is scary.
It’s obvious that the helicopter made a lot of errors (flying too high, not having enough crew on board) but the question is, why didn’t the air traffic controller mention that there were TWO planes, and when air traffic control saw how close they were getting, why didn’t air traffic control also warn the American Eagle Jet?
