Hi Megan- I love your son's outfit! It's adorable! Don't feel badly about him wearing it to bed...my son LOVED his new rubber boots so much that he wore those to bed for several nights. Haha! Yessss! We ALL have too much fabric in our stash but as my friend says...during these crazy pandemic times we need to find things that make us happy. Visiting fabric shops, stroking happy colours, planning, dreaming and then creating IS our form of therapy and self care. And if you can make another little (or big) person happy at the same time..what a GIFT!
I'm currently binging all of your videos while I tape patterns. I really appreciate that you show your fabricland purchases. I feel like a lot of sewing people feature fabric from more expensive stores which are wonderful but sometimes you need the 3 metres for the price of 1 from fabricland!
Yes, scrubs! Also diner uniforms. I am about to make one but I am avoiding white and blue, which will both look like hospital uniforms. I think the print is a great choice.
I think fabric choice is super key! I also think the bib/facing piece would look very cute if you played with stripe direction, or did some embroidery or used an embroidered border print fabric. It's a great fit, so worth playing with!
Thank you for sharing.I could watch you for hours your explanations are clear and fun, yours projects are creative, the tone of your voice is very calming and pleasante. Very proud of my fellow Canadian😉 Cheers from Montréal
I LOVE YOUR DRESS! I see a leopard print and I think it looks so cool! The design of the dress is really nice. I haven't tried Itch to Stitch patterns yet, but I would definitely like to try this one. Thanks for sharing!
That fabric is beautiful. But will be a nightmare to sew with. But you kn oi w that going in and that will help. I love the dress. And I live your take in it.
Love your versions, they suit you so well! And I absolutely agree with you about the scrubs reference, that is quite often something that comes to mind for me when looking at patterns.
What an adorable outfit you made for your son! My three year old would also love something like that. The construction print is so cute! I really need to sew more for my boys, lol.
That chiffon is gorgeous! I have some in my stash, but I really want to get comfortable with French seams before I cut into them. There’s plenty of tutorials online - thankfully - I just need to stop procrastinating😂. I’m a dress wearer, especially around home as I live in a hot and humid climate. The Itch to Stitch dress is cute, I may be tempted! I’d make it in a Cotton or linen blend though - good to know about the sizing, I’d do similar.
I find good pressing to be the real key with French seams. It makes a huge difference. You should go for it!! The Celeste dress would be perfect for hot, sticky weather. It's not close fitting but it has a nice shape to it.
I was thinking scrubs before you said that! I actually thought it was animal print until you said flowers.. then that's all I saw! Awww you have cute kids, your sons outfit is adorable!😊 And that fabric..beautiful ❤I'm not good at seeing sewing sheer 😮
If you haven’t tried underwear yet, try Itch to Stitch’s. I make undies or boxers for each kid’s outfit I make for my grands, and some for me too. They are the most comfortable ever! My grown daughter loves the thongs. 😂How can thongs be comfortable? She swears they are. I make her and her husband gift sets every holiday with naughty panels. 🤫
For your chiffon, spray starch!! Hang it over your shower rod folded in half and spray it with starch, then flip it and spray the other side. Once dry it will be crispy and will not shift as bad as without the starch. Before washing, soak in a wash tub with a bit of laundry soap to pre treat it. I have my Celest printed and fabric picked out. I think it would be so cute in a plaid with leggings, cardigan and boots for winter!
Thank you for the review of the Celeste Dress; I was thinking about buying the pattern, but, with reservations. When you said scrubs that's all I can see now...What about eliminating the patch pockets and placing them in the side seams? Your children are adorable and lucky that they have a mom that sews for them!
I have purchased this pattern from Itch to stituch, but have not made it yet.I had not thought if it looked like scrubs. Which are comfortable. A Linen blend would look nice. Is that what you said? sorry, I did not hear. You said that you used a size 10 with 22 size back?
The color of that dress and the style of that dress are absolutely gorgeous on you
Thank you! 😊
Super cute make for your son! Kids definitely wear their hearts on their sleeves. I'm so happy that he loved it!
It's so true- kids are very authentic with their opinions!

That is an adorable story!! You are very right, the things that make us happy are important, too :)
I love the fabric that you say reminds you of your grandma. The colors are beautiful
Thanks, Joanne! My grandma had a wonderful garden when I was younger, and she still loves bright colours.
Adorable children ❤️💜💙 I love your dress and the chiffon ( spray starch helps) and you children’s, makes just so cute. 🙌❤️💜💙
Thank you, Sarah!
What a lovely dress..🤩
I liked it Ms Megan 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks Ms Shane!!! ❤️❤️
I 💗 Itch to Stitch and Ellie & Mac, both for me and my Grandchildren. Your videos are great! I hope you’re feeling better now.
I bet your grandkids love the Ellie and mac patterns - they're so fun!
@@MeganGMakes They’re so cute, too!

I do love the fabricland 3 for 1 sale!
Love your dress and your son's outfit.

Thanks for sharing. I had been tempted by the Celeste. Yours is lovely.
Thank you!

Thanks for video. I can’t get scrubs out of my head either. You have masked it well. Looks great.

Thank you! He really loves that outfit!

Thanks, Donna - I hope keeping my expectations in check with the chiffon will help!
Love your versions, they suit you so well! And I absolutely agree with you about the scrubs reference, that is quite often something that comes to mind for me when looking at patterns.
Thanks Belinda! There are a few designs that have the style lines of scrubs. Once I see it, I can't unsee it!
What an adorable outfit you made for your son! My three year old would also love something like that. The construction print is so cute! I really need to sew more for my boys, lol.
Thanks Rikki! Sewing for little ones can be lots of fun but it always ends up last on my list.
I’ve never tried the itch to stitch patterns but I do love Ellie & Mac and your dress turned out great! That outfit for your little one is so cute!
Thanks Delilah! I like her style, lots of workwear appropriate patterns.

I still see both flowers and leopard! I don't know 😂
“Lifting Pins and Needles” loves to sew with chiffon, and has many videos about it. Lots of good info on her channel.
Thanks, Nancy - I'll check them out!
I haven't made anything from Itch to Stitch yet - what is your favorite from them? That chiffon is beautiful! I love the large flowers.
I think my favourite so far is the Pine Cove PJs.
@@MeganGMakes thanks! I'll go check it out.

Great idea! And a plaid Celeste dress would be SO cute. And cozy, in a brushed shirting or flannel...

Thanks, Sue! One of the testers made a version without the pockets and I thought it looked so cute.

A linen blend would be great! I made a size 16 bust and waist with a C-cup and graded it to a 22 at the hip.
@@MeganGMakes Thank you. so much. I will try these sizes.
