Whichever fabric uou choose will look stunning, just go with your own heart. Love the blue cardigan and that volour blue is in the floral fabric. Make both fabrics up. Enjoy your channel so much.
I really love both the cardigan and the eyelet top! They both look fantastic on you. I know what you mean about some garments photographing better than they look in real life. I've had times when everyone is trying to convince me that something looks great online, but my husband who can see it in real life understands why I think it isn't. It really does look gorgeous in the photos, though. The floral fabric seems perfect for the occasion of celebrating your Dad. I love your attitude about it and wish you lots of comfort at this difficult time.
What a wonderful touching way to celebrate your Dads life 💝. I love the floral fabric, it’s so vibrant. The Gilbert dress would look lovely. Also, I would sure make the PE dress in the hearts for Summer too!
What I have noticed with our weight going up and down, (and only a few women don't deal with this) is that we are so lucky to be sewists, as we can make the things that are the most flattering to our figure and still look great :)
Love what your wearing i think the white top looks great if its fun your after celebrating your Dad i love the colorful one but I'm sure you'll pick the right one
I'm right there with you with the dolman sleeves. I had to finally cut myself off from them because I rarely end up LOVING them. Condolences on your dad's passing 💕 I think the colours in the floral print look really pretty for you
Your cardigan is really nice and I like that it isn’t made with a bunch of rectangles. How awesome that the fabric store gave you a tip on how to cut the fabric! Love it
Although I love the eyelet fabric if you feel uncomfortable repurpose the blouse. One of the wonderful things about sewing is that it allows us to try new styles, if we love them it is a Win & if we don't we can find something else to do with that fabric & it is still a Win. I don't feel good in Colman styles. I am large busted and get a crease in the fabric that looks as though I need a dart. I don't wear puff sleeves bc I feel as though I look like a football player in puff sleeves. I do love both styles on other people. I think the blouse looks good on you. My condolences on your dad's passing. Prayers!
Beautiful cardi! I’m just in love with that colour fabric!!! Both of those fabrics are beautiful! But I think the flowers are stunning and have such a summery cheerful vibe which may help you on the day! And will see you through the summer too x
I really hope you pick the colorful floral. It is a happy occasion to honor your dad and would suit the jam vibes! What your family is doing is very special indeed.😊❤
Hi Megan, good makes that you shared. I have trouble with those "big sleeve" garments because they won't fit underneath cardigans or jackets without being uncomfortable and bunchy. I love all the ideas you have for the dress, especially the Helen's Closet one with the beautiful flowered poplin. I do love the idea of the black and white one in the Field of Dreams because I think that flowy fabric will look great on you. I do love that floral the best though, and it seems like it goes with the jamming in the pub vibe. I hope you have a wonderful time at his memorial and that many wonderful stories are told.
Oh man, I wish all fabric shops listed the season of the colors! I love that top on you!!! And the aqua is stunning on you! I have my eye on the Jennifer Lauren wrap dress too, there's just not enough time!
I like the dark fabric with hearts in the field of dreams pattern. It sounds fitting for the pub and golf setting. If hot, great. If cooler, a little sweater on top. I think field of dreams in hearts will look very attractive on you and be comfortable. I just came from a “celebration of life” service today. What a wonderful way to remember and celebrate cherished memories with our beloved family and friends. Best wishes.
It is interesting that I thought of the Tempo sundress in the rayon and then you showed the Field of Dreams dress. It is So similar so that gets my vote.
If you’ve made any of the three patterns before, I would choose that one. I am inferring, though, from your comments, that you haven’t made any of the three. If that’s the case, I would choose the hearts fabric in the Field of Dreams pattern, because the Gilbert dress involves a hack, and the dolman sleeved dress would be slightly risky without a muslin. You want to not add more stress than you need to. If you don’t post before the celebration, I hope it is a moving and joyous remembrance. P.S. That colour of the PE duster is absolutely gorgeous on you; it was worth the effort of working with rayon/modal/cotton.
Thank you - I have made the Gilbert Top, but not with the hacked skirt attached. I am also nervous about not getting the fit right on the Isla dress, so I haven't made up my mind yet. Hopefully my vision works out!
I’ve been told the camera doesn’t lie. That white top is EXCELLENT on you!! You are a gorgeous human !! I say get to work and make both the dresses for the service. That way you can decide in the moment which you feel better in !!
You always look beautiful, but you are absolutely stunning in what you are wearing! That sweater was worth all the trickiness of the fabric and the blue is gorgeous on you. It sounds like you are honoring your father in a wonderful and personal way.
That blue cardigan is YOU! The color is perfect. I, too, love the eyelet top ..I think it looks great but I get it. If you’re not comfortable in it, you won’t wear it. Don’t you hate when that happens?
Both the cardigan and the Lamont top look beautiful on you! I have plans to make the Lamont very soon - based on what you just shared I think maybe I’ll make a test garment with inexpensive fabric before I cut into my gorgeous blue double gauze! For your dad’s memorial, I think the fun floral! I’m going to have to check out that fabric store because I’ve had my colours done also and I have a really hard time picking fabrics online. 🇨🇦
My vote is the floral fabric. It looks great with your Cardi. Sorry I'm not a dress person. Separate are much more versatile especially in a great fabric. Have you checked out quilting cottons at Sewing World on Fisher Rd next to fabricland South? Your son will have a hard time deciding. There's also Fabric Depot close to Costco Sunridge.
@@MeganGMakes ... Once you check out Sewing World'S fabric you'll never go back to fabricland quilting cottons. The quality is just such a difference. $$$ though. Fabric Depot is two floors of crazy fabrics. Lots of upholstery grade upstairs. But the notions and trims are my go to - worth a trip.
I wouldn’t use a snap (in general I dislike them) but some of those speciality closures like frogs, clasps, toggle, etc would work on the sweater. I also do like the white blouse, but never find that type of sleeve comfortable. So I never even try a dolman or grownon sleeve anymore. I’m also larger post pandemic. 🥲But . . . I’m alive. Fair trade off.
I actually just had my colors done this past week. I love the idea that a fabric store identifies what season a fabric is good for! I love the color of your cardigan. I absolutely LOVE your white eyelet top - it's so cute and looks great on you! It's a shame you aren't comfortable in it 😥🧵 Both fabrics and all the patterns are lovely but if your goal is FUN, the colorful floral fits that goal!! 🧵
I have that fabric in my Fabricville cart that you picked for the memorial dress! Love it! I think the Helen's Closet Gilbert would be best! I would think the poplin would be too crisp for the vintage style dress and poof out at the hip/hem. I think the black and white is adorable but if your dad was a musician the hearts are too tame! lol It seems as though you want to celebrate vs memorialize him so the floral is my pick! I love the white eyelet top on you, I know what you mean about the extra fabric but it isn't that noticeable in the photos!
Love the blue cardigan 😍 I like the field of dreams dress. I've been wanting to make a summer dress myself😊 you should ask pam from made by pam she made her son a cute button up shirt the other day! I think it was pokemon? I can't remember. Lol
I really like you and the content of your videos, but really need you to ratchet up the volume. The ads that interrupt the videos blast me out of my seat, but the videos themselves I simply cannot hear, even with my speaker full blast. I accidentally hit the wrong arrow onscreen and skipped forward to the next video, and it too blasted me out of my seat.
I didn’t care if i had a boy or girl, but when they said “it’s a boy!” I had this guilty disappointment as i thought of not sewing girls clothes. How awful of me, but it is honestly my first thought
I love the white eyelet top on you. It’s really quite slimming and I think you should consider wearing it. It’s just gorgeous
Thank you. I will give it a shot!
I totally agree! Looks fabulous on you! Very becoming!!!! Wear it girl….it’s great!!!
Whichever fabric uou choose will look stunning, just go with your own heart. Love the blue cardigan and that volour blue is in the floral fabric. Make both fabrics up. Enjoy your channel so much.

After I watched the video in editing, that colourful fabric just calls to me!
I'm right there with you with the dolman sleeves. I had to finally cut myself off from them because I rarely end up LOVING them.
Condolences on your dad's passing 💕

Your cardigan is really nice and I like that it isn’t made with a bunch of rectangles. How awesome that the fabric store gave you a tip on how to cut the fabric! Love it
Thanks, Mari! Yes, I like that it has some shape to it.

I do love the black fabric with the white hearts. It would make a beautiful dress. Your son"s name for the shirt is so cute...a picnic shirt. 😊
Thanks, Maureen!
You are so gorgeous and your makes look fantastic on you. Really beautiful. 👌🏼👌🏼😊

Thanks, Diane. I can certainly relate to not being able to get a big sleeve under a jacket. Layers are important in the climate I live in!

@@upcycledcopycat8389 thank you! I've been curious about fabric depot, too. Maybe time for me to plan a field trip!
Both would be beautiful. My only thought on the hacked Gilbert is whether the bright fabric has too much body for the gathers. Hard for me to tell.
Hmm, good point, Karen.

Sending positives thoughts to you and your family on celebrating the legacy of your dad. Definitely the flowered fabric for the Helen’s Closet dress.
Thank you ❤
It looks lovely on you , you look good in white.
Thanks, Linda! I don't wear it often because I'm a bit sloppy... and I have little kids! They're sticky no matter what!
Love your makes! Thank you for your honest review of patterns. Your memorial for your dad is wonderful!
Thank you!
