That’s a really good review you gave and honest from your point of view. Also like you say it’s great for people who are on a very restricted budget but want to take their family away. I also agree children look at things in a different way.
There’s absolutely no need to be rude to staff, particularly as it is not their fault or even their responsibility for things like the furniture. People are entitled to say if they’re unhappy but there’s a right way & a wrong way and being rude to staff is definitely wrong. I’d also say it would make them NOT want to do their best for you too. I must admit I have witnessed holidaymakers being rude before and it has upset me.
Great tips, especially bringing much of your own stuff. I do think it wasn’t a good sign that the shop was closed or that there was no opening times displayed. Thank goodness for the shop across the road 👏🏼
I’d stick to staying in your lovely van but thankyou for doing this review and I’m sure there’ll be lots of people who will welcome this. 💚💚💚

Love how you always find the positives in situations 🥰 we should all be a little bit freedom fam!
When you said about how people treated the staff. Honestly, I work in retail and it’s soooooo sad to see people being rude to the staff members, I am quite lucky to say I barely have those things happening to me, but I’ve seen happening to other staff members and even between customers, which is ridiculous customers being rude to customers. I have to say, something that I hate is when I get cash payments, so I give them my hand so it’s easier and they just throw the money to me, and when giving the change they put their hand out for me to give them in hand, which I do. But yeah, some people tend to be really rude to staff members, I’ve found that it’s mostly elderly people and foreign people, and I’m not being racist, I’m Portuguese and I live in the uk, I know it’s hard, but that’s what I’ve noticed

I agree. Clean everything. Not only that because a lot of people hate their jobs now they're not likely to clean things in the right way and you want to enjoy your holiday by not be sick.
I used to love going to Pontin’s growing up. Even wanted to be a blue coat at one point but unfortunately when Pontins was bought out by another company the state of the accommodation and sites went a little down hill. Some sites have redeemed themselves but others not so much! I went to many Pontins sites as a kid and Breen was the worst but Prestatyn was always the best!
Always believe in communicating with kindness, I understand being mad but no one wants to help someone who’s giving out to them.
And it looks very basic but liveable! ☺️ I wouldn’t mind staying there ☺️ would love a few holiday park review videos because we’d love to visit some in the UK but I don’t know where to start ha 😂
I think it probably depends on who was in the accommodation before you wether it's clean or not. You were lucky... and whether anything is open or not. Apparently, quite often, people find most things closed, even during school holidays

We stayed their before without knowing and it was not the best experience our room wasn't clean and it took a long time to talk to the staff

I was in 2 or 3 pontins resorts. They have good evening entertainments nice pool. Rooms need improvments but we was only slept there mostly of the day we spend outside. True is you not find hotel with pool for weekend for this price.

Lovely vlog. I went to Pontins when I was at Brownies and it was pretty decent place and had a very good time. I remember meeting someone who was on the TV and was then a entertaining person for Pontins. I agree with what you said and that it is cost effective!! I love how honest you are and his respectful you are about the company and those who may use this for a low cost but fun times away.

How dare they not have prizes In the 2p machines, that's the best part😂😯
Always take cleaning stuff with us to Pontins. The kids love it there. But the flats are often really dirty. We have mattress covers and take our own bedding and pillows too.
Definitely for the money this did seem good value... Only £10 a night per person. Some people don't have space to store camping equipment or at home or even a car so this makes a cheap... almost camping type holiday possible.. And like most things with the right mindset you can have a great time. I was surprised that the crazy golf was free...they often aren't!
We get Groupon vouchers for our stays at Southport Pontins. We have always had to clean the apartment on arrival.

When I went to a premier inn a few years ago its a non smoking rooms but I had to get air freshner for the room as it was full of smoke I dont know how it was smelling of smoke I told a member of staff about it and they payed me for the air freshner and they said sorry to me and they did not know why it happened

Hey guys! :) All my life we went a lot to these places for Petanque competitions with our family, and have stayed in some interesting places for sure, some real dives. Went to Brean Pontins 15 years ago as a kid, brilliant time! You never notice how bad the chalets are until you grow up. aha! Have a great holiday guys!!!

I stayed there only for 5 days the entertainment was good but the thing i was staying in it was rank we had red ants on the floor and the glasses where stinking and the tv dint have a remote and dint have a freezer the arcade was the only good thing there . U had to keep on Turing on the shower
I think your review was fair , i be honest i have looked at Pontins myself as a quick cheap break but been put off by the reviews this has left me feeling that you know it might be ok as long as room is clean and tidy all good , i'm always weird about things anyhow have to spray toilet and bath/shower before using and like to give kitchen a bit of a spray too so that is nothing new to me .
Speaking of holidays you need to try this place out Ground Keeper's Cottage - North Shire they do other themes and i'm sure Jojo would love it as much as my girls did
I agree completely! I think kids can find enjoyment in almost any kind of place - especially with novelties like arcades and mini gold. I love the suggestions of bringing your own cleaning and bedding supplies. It seems like that could make the whole situation more comfortable.

@@OhCrumbs96 Yes with my 2 girls been autistic they need a few home comforts so having their own bedding that they are familar with all helps in making a holiday so much better for them
@@missa_tude7327 I bet having those familiar items makes the whole thing much nicer for your girls! Holidays are definitely different when you have kids on the spectrum, aren't they? My brother is autistic and we very quickly realised that the typical holidays where you're in close proximity to other families and there are lots of overwhelming new experiences just weren't going to work. We always kept things pretty low-key and rented a cottage in Cornwall for a week and spent the time relaxing as a family. Looking back, it wasn't really anything massively exciting compared to what a lot of my friends were doing but I loved it. It was always nice to spend time as a family when we were all relaxed and enjoying ourselves, rather than trying to force my brother into situations that stressed him (and consequently all of us) out.

I use to go to pontins when I was younger with my nan I loved it
It looks ok for the price and I like the idea of it being single storey chalets and it also looks clean! But I don’t like the sofa beds they are so hard! I would take my own air bed lol 😂 but you are best taking your own bedding
I once stayed at a Pontins in Rhyl it was good plus got upgraded to a bigger apartment as the park was quiet. Still was a good holiday 💕

@@FamilyFreedom 🤣 I mean, it is hard work juggling tacos and pizzas into my mouth at the exact same time...but Bob really inspired me to change my ways and exercise and get hardcored chiseled and in the best shape of my life in this video...for all of like 5 minutes anyway...in the 2 weeks since this comment I have actually made progress at getting into shape too believe it or not! That shape is round and the most exercising I have done since has been reaching for the tv remote. Granted sometimes it is really really far away and I gotta stretch, but I can feel the burn!
You should go and visit Seal Bay Resort (formally known as Bunn Leisure) they have a camping field two where you can stay in you’re van or take a tent, it’s near the witterings and super family friendly, I live near by and me and my dad go on holiday every year, it’s just a change of scenery. Xx

For a family it has everything to keep a child/children entertained. If your on holidays your out & about your not staying in the accomodation all the time. Meals & sleeping. If the weather not good you have plenty of activities that are undercover. I would be like you Katie take own bedding cleaning products. If you didn’t need to use your own things good but at least you had them if needed. JoJo enjoyed himself & gave a honest review. Being kind to staff will get you further than being unkind, that goes for any shop wether your holidays or not. I worked many years in a deli. We had one client who came in every week. She found fault with everything & I mean everything. I made a decision to go out of my way to be nice. In the end I won her over & she would always wait for me to serve her. all is standard...some small parts could have been painted new for example -- but you pay basic price and get what you pay for...all entertainment was running: Minigolf, little cars....if these are broken i would understand the bad comments you have been reading of...thank you for nice video :-)
The funny thing is I know that I went there but don't remember it being bad and my year 4 teacher used to work there as an entertainer

i have never heard of paying electric on top of the price of staying and for what they have is what you get you have a really nice little shop just up the road it use to be called allens and there is the great brean leisure centre that has a lot of rides and arcade and the extra shops and mini arcades and the beach is a nice clean sandy beach nothing on it like weston super (sludge) mare but it is what it is, there is nice walks right at the end of the rd that lets u walk on the beach or a cafe or a bird place if its still there and you can climb the path up the side of the hill/cliff top gorgeous views, its a lovely little get away and my boys love it even though we either stay at unity farm which own leisure centre or at the other end john fowlers where it use to be just sandy glade. but it is what it is and on a budget you make ur own entertainment sometimes. if you come across not enough cutlery or dishes or cups glasses all u have to do is tell the reception and they dont normally have a problem replacing missing items. i do like ur honesty on these reviews and i hope the rest of ur stay way more adventurous and you managed to see more than just the park u stayed in. keep rising guys xx

I went to pontins wales when I was a kid and I loved it I would go back when I have kids in the future only thing about it, it is dear and should budget for it u r cheaper to go abroad all inclusive for a week tho

Thank you guys, have eased my mind a little bit as I am due to go to Brean sands next week, we have been to Pontins before though never been to Brean, seems better than the Southport site which is in serious need of updating maintenance in lots of places, we have 5 children 💀 so it is mainly for them and they will be able to overlook a lot of the things that we might pick up on and enjoy the week, just a quick question about the beach is there one close by as the closest one on Google maps is about 2 miles away, but surely there should be one not far from the park?
Yes the beach is very close, if you come out of the holiday park and cross the road there are a few arcades and shops the beach is the other side of all of that. You just walk up the road a bit and there is a carpark just walk through the carpark and you will find a little pathway to the beach 🏖️ it's not far at all and the beach is beautiful and sandy. The kids will have a great time :)

I went with my friend and her family to pontins when I was little and got a horrific stomach bug from how filthy it was I made my dad drive from Glasgow to take me home 😂😂🌴

Hey guys I hope you reply to my comment as not many RUclipsrs reply to me, Pontins about 15 ish years ago use to be alright, I went many times as it was all we could afford and we enjoyed it, I loved the stuff they had on in the evenings where they had stuff on for kids and I remember meeting Timmy Mallet there, I was about 8 I think and looking at the videos now it really has gone downhill

I’ve been to Brean sands lots of times, never had any issues there. It’s cheap and only an hour away. Lots to do off site as well.
