It's mostly just a D chord, with a descending bass on the A string. The bridge ("maybe I shouldn't be singing this song...") is Em and A. I finished ("I'm an asshole and proud of it") with a C, G, and then back to D.
Great job at adopting the clone tech! What beats me is that as I tried to find what song you just covered, I repeatedly encountered videos of the Denis Leary song that all said: Not available in your country. Wha the heck :o
It's essentially just a three-chord song. I ended it with a C, G and then D because I liked the sound of it, but that's not the way the original version goes. Play / record the song fearlessly at an open mic session soon, perhaps skipping or modifying the spoken word segment, and upload it to RUclips so that we can all enjoy it!
Thanks for watching, Rowena. After this one, and "Let's Talk Dirty in Hawaiian," I'm just about through my repertoire of songs with questionable lyrics.
Man you and your guitar, you sound great. I'm really new to guitar.. I know you posted the chords but for a layman what is the most basic chord progression? I also like how you made it your own.
I'm thankful that this cover exists

Thanks, Tom. I occasionally try to break from the "all Prine all the time" mould.

What chords are you playing? I have always loved this song.
whats the chords your playing
Leary’s voice changes as the song goes on and it’s very creative and interesting. The song isn’t as good without the inflection.
