I‘m aware that cavemen didn’t do MMA, but this is close enough 6. Kali: combat but with sticks. Humans always had this useful grabbers we call hands and so we would use them 7. I feel like a lot of niche competitive hobbies are like that. The more I got to know the most world class speedcubers the more surprised I was by how genuinely nice everyone is.
Actually did rotoscoping in class a few times, you just trace their silhouettes and minor details every few frames and you get something that looks very real without much detail. I’d like to try it on this if I still had access to ToonBoom or some other animation program. My major was game design so I only have the 3D softwares now.

Every once in a while this sport gets recommended to me, I get addicted to it for a few hours then forget about it until it gets recommended to me again
It's because it's a fast, high risk-reward game. There's no ball, no equipment, no long list of a million rules. It's just 2 people using their strength, agility and ingenuity to navigate a difficult landscape as quickly as possible in order to catch or not be caught. It's simple but fast paced and acrobatic which makes it very fun and interesting to watch.

There is potential for horrific injuries in every sport. Hockey you are literally skating around with blades on your feet while on Ice. Might as well sit in a padded room if you think running around tagging someone is more dangerous than stuff you do every day
