    This podcast is becoming the pinnacle of relevant AFSO resources!
    Speaking on behalf of the community, could the crew could cover SR in-depth (SR apprenticeship phase, attrition rates, avg. mission duration, etc.) because there is minimal information available regarding SR beyond Trent's interview on Brian's channel.
    Thank you guys so much! Not only are you all helping aspiring AFSO, but I think the podcast also increases appreciation for what you all do/did.

      I agree. Unfortunately it’s brand new and a lot of what they do is classified so there’s really only so much he could talk about. Hopefully the Air Force will put out some footage or info of their pipeline stats and stuff. But the one thing about being SOF is 90% of the things you do is classified. But I too am definitely interested in SR a lot so I’m always scanning for info

    When I joined the Army in 99, I never even heard that the Air Force had SOF. Found out during jump school, met 2 ccts,1 PJ going threw pipelines. But I fell in love with CCTs, I was tryn 2 find as much info as I could, and learn all as much as I could. If I was younger again, I would of tried 2 go 2 CCT pipeline. But that just seemed like a job I would love. Plus love the fact, that you go on deployments with 1 CCT, and then SF,Rangers,Sesls,ect. And when I was in the Army, the SR, was called CWT, but for the SR, do they go out on a team,of all SRs,or do they detache, with other SOF. Reason I ask, is cuz the Marines have Force Recon., and Rangers have a small Recon team.and so do Seals,ect, but I didn't understand the CWT job, but SR seems like a badass job. But I think CCTs,have the baddest job in the military.

    2 questions: 1. Are all of you guys active duty? 2. If you could pick 1 skill/ability that is as close to the most important as it’s possible to be in a profession that requires such a wide range of skills/abilities what would it be?

    I was stationed at Schofield Barracks and everyone thinks that people stationed there are on some tropical vacation lol...
    The Army has a way of making everything suck 😂
    Looking into AF SOF now and I appreciate all the info!

    I have been deeply looking at STO and CCT. Could one of you guys maybe do a video or tell me where to get info on the STO career. Where could I find the differences in piplines and what schools you can go to being an officer/STO. There is not much info on STO's out there. I you can't no problem. Thanks. You all are excellent.

    How big is a team? When you guys say team sergeant and team leader, what ranks are those and how many people are they generally in charge of? AF and Army speak a slightly different language.

    I know this will be a long comment, but I'm leaving for the airforce in about 5 months, and I'm trying out for special warfare, specifically SR, and I take my ASVAB soon, then the SW recruiter is supposed to test me out on PT. I'm about to propose to my girlfriend, and she and I both think this is what I'm meant to do. If there's any advice you can give on any of these jobs, and what it's like to have family waiting back home for you, it would be greatly appreciated.

    First, I assume that Trent is either is not married or divorced because he doesn't seem to have a life outside of SOF. Second, when you say that SR doesn't have a stateside mission, what about all that weather training? I would think that weather observers / data gatherers would be invaluable during a hurricane or tornado.

    • @OnesReady
      @OnesReady  4 года назад +7

      Well, your assumption is wrong, one. And two- SR doesn’t forecast and currently doesn’t have a stateside mission... we know this cause, you know, Trent is one. Lol.

      Work-life balance and the military don't mix, let alone special ops. Have you seen how difficult and lengthy the training is just to become a special operator is? These guys HAVE to make it their whole life.

    • @OnesReady

      That's a tough question to answer because it depends on which unit you're assigned to and who you're supporting.🍑

    • @TheGrimSniper14
      @TheGrimSniper14 4 года назад +1

      Bare in mind a lot of conventional units are getting pulled back since the Middle East is kinda settling compared to when GWOT and OIF first launched. If you’re supporting SOF units it might be different plus I know there’s a lot of SOF doing work in Africa that might get you some work if you end up working with a SOF unit

    What’s the reality of women joining SR? I’ve only heard of 10 women ever even trying to join the Special Warfare program. The first woman to try SR got dropped during selection. Have any women that you know of made it all the way through?
