Really enjoyed it! Wanted to ask if you might (one day) do a video sharing some insight on your collaboration specifically with the DP? Think that could be very interesting :)
This was a great idea and was cool to hear about your experience. Can definitely relate to some of these on similar jobs I've had. I've been operating for a little over a year now and am still learning a lot. Recently had my first rickshaw job, which was a lot harder than I imagined. Lightweight rickshaw that two people have to lift up before you can adjust your socket block and height etc. Was all in a crazy rush on a short film. Can you do a video about rickshaw work? Thanks!
What is the work situation like, I'm guessing it's not 9 - 5 Mon - Fri, but is there enough work to keep you employed each week as much as you would like?
Haha, it is definitely not a schedule like that. Some jobs will book you a few months ahead and some will call you day of. A lot of jobs fall through too so it's hard to plan. I get about 3 days of work a week on average, but hopefully more will come my way as I do it more and more. But at the beginning work is few and far between.
@@SteadiRed Do you use a show reel and have to hawk yourself or do you get hired from an agency? I'm just curious, it's such a far cry from me working 40 years for the same employer. :)
I did start out really young, but i also went to college. I don't recommend it for everyone though. I think you can get a lot of the sam education by watching RUclips and reading books and save a lot of money. With the time you can also work as a PA on some sets and learn a tun and most importantly meet people.
@@SteadiRed I tried to order one several months ago but got impatient with backorders so I built one myself. You can just add a DJI RS2 to any Steadicam with a tilta RS2 power base plate and achieve the same thing. The balance changes slightly if you want to do jib moves a bunch, but its a lot of fun. It works great with blackmagic pocket cinema cameras so I think it would be worth you giving a try. I've seen you use those cameras in past videos. You also have to do less work maintaining a level horizon becuase the RS2 does that for you.
Cool insights as always. Thanks a lot.
Thanks so much 😁
Dope to see all this content! Just found your channel !
thanks so much!!
Looks like you got lucky with your rap artists. The first one I shot didn’t even know the words to his own song!
Hahaha, very true. I was being nice and just didn't talk about those jobs 😁
Highly entertaining very informative. Love these sit and watch style videos.
Thanks so much 😁
Love these vids man! What's the best way to pick up cam op/steadicam op work? Been having a hell of a time...
thanks man! to me it seems to be all about networking and doing a good job on the jobs you do get. but its hard to get the ball rolling

Thanks man! I definitely will when it comes up but I have yet to work in a rickshaw. Hopefully it will be an easier experience 😁
Like watching your behind the scenes, can you make some more behind the scenes on live multicam work?
I recently got a bunch of live shows, so as long as I can get it approved I will be 😁
@@SteadiRed 😁😁

This is really cool just one question did this vid get copyright striked or not because you did shoot it all lol
Hahaha, that would be such a hard argument to make with RUclips 😁😁
@@SteadiRed cool thanks for commenting I'm so happy lol
Hi, did you go to college for film as well? Or did you learn this naturally

@@SteadiRed wow.
Have you heard of the tilta Float?
I have but I have never seen one in person. I'd love to try it
