Vintage places like this should make a comeback! Too many corporate restaurants like DQ and others have put family owned places out of business. I'd like to see them come back.
My family and I used to eat there fairly often. Just before they closed, I remember taking my mother there one last time. So many memories! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video extra of the dining room. It's sad that it probably will be gone forever but the video will remain a great memory. Thanks wallie you are awesome
That place looks like it could just open right back up and start serving customers again once all the weeds are cut and parking lot paved. Looks like such a nice cozy vintage place unfortunately sad to say i have to agree i don't aee this place opening up any time soon😢 Another awesome find👍
Amazing video! you're such a big inspiration for me getting into abandoned retail, if you're ever in Wisconsin I could give a few locations to check out! :]
Lived in Ashtabula my whole life. Used to go with a girl that worked the ice cream stand, and her brother used to cook in the restaurant. Good times. All the videos of the town are cool. Grew up with all of the old places. I'm 50 now so I go back a little. If you want something different check out Smolen coverd Bridge. It's the biggest in the country. It would make a cool video. I don't think many if anyone did one yet.
I agree with you highly. They are disgusting, plain disrespectful to other people's property, especially private property. Wish they get caught and get arrested. They are scums of the earth. Wallie is so legit. I enjoy his urbex vids. He rocks!
Guessing that the ice cream shop in front might have once been a Pure/Union 76 gas station/truck stop, based on the blue roof of the building, and the street sign. The restaurant, with the yellow roof, originally opened as an Aunt Jemima Pancake House. Saw posts of this on Facebook.
It appears that Mr. C's has locations still open, mostly east of the Mississippi. And that they have packaged ice cream also available at retail locations.
The ice cream place came in the late 80's into the 90's. That used to be a triple A . Mr.Cs was a busy place with good food back in the day. There was a camp ground across the street.
I can't understand that when a place is closed and obviously too run down to fix that the owner doesn't have it torn down, bc they're having to pay taxes on it. I mean clear it out and let someone else make use of the ground. Thanks for filming it.
Nice Wallie!!! I recently was in Austinburg Ohio too!!! I stayed at the Fairfield Inn and ate at the Waffle House!!! There’s also a vintage blue roof Burger King but when I was there it was changed to grey, but it was still stuck in the 90s which will probably turn into a shoebox or go abandoned soon!!! do good!!!😊
Most of the time when you see the fixtures and furniture still in place at these abandoned restaurants for more than 10 years. It's mostly because the owner still owed money on everything. If the finance institution or bank don't see the value and nothing hasn't been removed. The lean owner writes it off as a loss. I'm sure this place was put up for some type of auction of sorts in the past. But other things facter in. Such as location for one.
There saying by the middle of next week in the southeast part of Pennsylvania we are suppose to be having highs in the mid to upper 60s and lows in the 40s I'm not ready for the 40s yet.
This is funny because I go to a place here called Mark C's dinner awesome place and food never thought I'd hear of somethin name wize close to the same thing weird..that looks like a real nice Mom and Pop place inside..that's a big shame it's closed and still set up inside like it's ready for someone to just open up and start work is crazy...someone should try to reopen that Into the samething..

Great video wallie, so crazy how places can just be left and not touched for years.
I remember going here years ago. There’s a few more places that are abandoned around here I need to check out as well. I’ve got a whole list!
The one sign that says pancakes and seafood reminds me of the Hoffman House logo. Wonder if it was before Mr. C’s. Great video Wallie!!!!
WOW! Great video! This place is stuck in time! Will all those weeds around it, you can tell it's been closed for a long time! Quite a place!
Ah this place. The inside is such a time capsule, we checked this place out a few years. It was one of my favorite spots.
Thank you for sharing🏚🧡
Great video again. Nice to see the bee make a new surprise appearance!
Cool thing about this place! Nate, Richard and Kara were here!
We used to stop there back in the day! Your back in my area !!😮

This place intrigues me! My question is why do they leave all the equipment inside? Why not sell it? That stuff is expensive!
Ate there in the 1970's when I was a teenager.
🤩😍🥰🍨
It looked so 70’s-80’s🥹
1st again. I am just too quick.

I imagine in the future, you would open your own retro-restaurant / museum with shop item's you have collected 🚗🏪
