Welcome to my Ironman run of Fire Emblem Echoes. The rules for this run are simple, I cannot reset under any circumstances, nor can I use Mila’s Turnwheel. Any units lost are gone forever (revival fountains may or may not be banned depending on the challenge). If I get a game over, the run is over.

I like to imagine, that after alm died Forsyth Dodged all the attacks, soloed the campaign by himeslf, and became the new king named Saint King Forsyth along with his queen, Matilda.
Don't forget about the conquest of Delthea and Luthier to free Mila, leading them to take over for a Celica who gave up having learned of the passing of Alm

Honestly, I think Mangs deserves a second (3rd?) try at this game. The chat absolutely sabotaged him this time around. He should do it again WITHOUT chat deciding everyone's classes this time around and WITHOUT Mangs underestimating the difficulty. Who's with me?

For Echoes, I also think Mangs should allow retreating. Retreating isn't the same as resetting. Retreating prevents death from happening and reset corrects a death that has already happened.

Python's "death" has to be the most 0 iq play I've seen Mangs make yet.

Yeah that restart was totally legit. I mean I see why not to use it, you really could save yourself indefinitely I think and shouldn't be abused in ironman, but chat is crazy.
It's a game mechanic, but I guess logically speaking, Python could not have gotten out there alive if a retreat was ordered.

Maybe if the retreat button gave the AI one free turn, that would be less of an issue. Still, the retreat button exist so the player can use it to save their characters
No idea why he chose to retreat Python through the right side instead of going back through the bridge immediately outside the archers' range

the retreat was actually a smart move to pull out before it caused problems.. sorry but chat was obviously just being a douche.. it was a smart move. If units die and you retreat they should remain dead. retreating before they die and battling when your army has advantage is a smart move. you only fight in a disadvantage when you have no other choice..
Sorry to chat, but that was a cheeky and smart move.. though he could have been saved just by moving alm and another unit with a health if alm was not in range to heal python.
Manga is honestly a mass murderer at this point...
If you realize that mangs is actually helping the enemy side win, his strategies make a lot more sense.

I've never retreated from a battle in echoes before I didn't even know that was how it worked. Not even mad though, that was a hilarious big brain strat.
Celica and Mycen were right, Alm was asking for it the second he conscripted himself.
I'd just like to use this video to remind everyone that Cyan completed a 35% enemy growths FE 8 hard mode Ironman yesterday to truly flex on Mangs.

You absolute fool, Kliff is the strongest unit in this game he legit carried my army. The tankiest, speediest, and luckiest bow knight I've ever had putting Phyton and Leon to shame.
The retreat was fine in my opinion, its not a reset.
I don't think it's a reset but i believe it should be banned anyway
Oh, so the battle is like Bowser's Minions and Bowser Jr's Journey, because Alm is like the captain of the team. When the player team's captain gets defeated, the enemy team wins, even if there are still other units alive.

She makes one of the best Clerics in the game my dude. Her getting Renew which functions like a Bard/Dancer and is exclusive to her. Very valuable.

I almost had Alm lose to a Rigelian's Miasma, but I was able to heal him with my Silque. Other enemy soilders got crushed by Alm.

It's too abusable for an Ironman. What's to stop him doing that every time someone's about to die?
@@Superluigi881 the main difference is that he cannot undo someone who already died during enemy phase or by random crits by retreating, units whos motivation is lowered by the fight wont be reset back to the way they were before the fight, and any healing items he used up will still be gone. A turnwheel or a reset would negate ANY negatives he might have suffered from poor planning, not to mention that retreating only works if you notice you fucked up in time to react to it and cant even be used on a lot of late-game and story important maps; if youre playing quickly or not paying attention you wont always know retreating is an option. I'd say retreating is different enough from a reset that it shouldnt count against an ironman run's integrity.

Also I would be fine with retreating since you have to start the battle over again and it’s not reseting the game and loading a save.
And it doesn’t save anyone that dies during enemy phases or an unexpected critical hit
If you retreat, it saves the enemies you killed. So you can kill one guy, retreat, and repeat.

Would reviving units with the springs be allowed under Ironman rules?? There’s a decent amount of revives you can do but they are still finite and you won’t have them anymore if you’re not careful.
Also I can’t help but wonder why in classic mode many death quotes still sound like as if the game’s set to Casual mode?? That’s so weird.
the reason some of the death quotes in classic are casual mode quotes is cuz he hasn't made it to at least act 3-5 with those chars alive.
so for chars like Gray, Boey and Clair, their death quotes only update if they've made it to act 3-5 alive, as in the early game of acts 1-2 they're important to the story cutscenes, so their death quotes are casual mode ones

About retreating, it doesn't reset the map, units killed remain dead on both sides, and the enemy formation is rearranged to fill the blanks.
Wowsers, all those fappers crying over him retreating when it's not save scumming nor resetting...

I personally wouldn’t make Kliff go permanent Mercenary tree.
Doing the Dread fighter loop at least once is a fine idea though for some nice base stats. He’s too awesome of a Mage/Sage with his spell list being the overall best out of any male character.
