Holt's speech to Rosa in that episode when they all went to her house for game night was so inspiring. "When one of us comes out, it makes us all stronger" (something to that effect)
Honestly, as much as I adore this show, I actually think it can still use more deep moments like these. Season 5 fixed that issue slightly, let's hope Season 6 fixes it completely.
If you want a TV show that is both as funny as B99, *and* consistently has gut-punching scenes that will make you weep, watch Scrubs. The rooftop picnic, the loss of three, the shame of the nurse, the death of "den mother", the "where do you think we are?", the overnight beer patient... to name just a few (trying to avoid spoilers).
no one is tough by nature..they only use the toughness to hide their emotion when someone broke that wall down..the only thing that's coming next is waterworks
@@asmerX100 this comment reminds me of the scene in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, when Mantua touched Drax, and even though he's stoic, the emotions he feels everyday hits her like a truck
Toughness has nothing to do with stuff like not crying. Not expressing or confronting your emotions is just damaging you and everyone around you. It's also the opposite of toughness its cowardice. When using "toughness" or apathy to hide your feelings instead of dealing with them, you are running from them, you arent confronting them as a tough person would
top 3 tear-jerker scenes in my opinion (in no order): - rosa comes out to her parents (5x10) - terry's justification for filing the complaint against the other cop (4x16) - amy losing it because she was worried about rosa's safety (5x20)
honourable mentions: - the squad showing up at rosa's house ft. holt's encouraging advice to rosa - jake and amy's vows - holt's announcement to leave the 99 - jake's speech to his father - rosa about to flee the country and holt telling her that the 99 is her family
Also the whole squad trying to cope with the idea that 99 precinct maybe shut downtown Or when jake broke his bones and how worried Terry was Or when amy is dating Teddy and jake is just so sad
My tear jerker: 1. Holt saying "I am proud of you" to Jake and Jake is little by little seeing a good person in not only holt but also himself 2. Whenever b99 shows romantic/ friend relationship can always become comfortable and wholesome when you try to understand and better yourslef
Rosa coming out and Terry fighting against racism is some honest to God real and genuine representation, and I love that being LGBT+ or race isn't just comedy relief in this show. Good show 👌
Even from early on, she lightweight seemed to be one of the most emotionally charged characters in the show. Which kinda makes perfect sense. I love Rosa
The way Holt says Meep-Mop-Zerp... It makes me cry. It makes me amazed by Andre’s acting. It makes angry he’s able to make me cry with three stupid words that don’t even mean anything. What a magnificent moment.

Holt being transferred is the best to me. Characters that don't stutter and repeat themselves breaking to do it is a great way to show subtle emotion and then a usually very monotone and direct holt trying to really play into the robot joke is showing how hard he's trying to not be emotional
Actually, one of my favorite moments was when Terry was so terrified to be left in Holt’s position and he had to make decisions. He was undecided on what to do with Rosa’s case. He tried imitating Holt and it backfired. Holt had left a step-by-step instruction book for every imaginable situation. Finally, Rosa says to Terry that he should check the instructions under the When Cannot Solve A Problem section and it said: when cannot settle an issue, check with Sergeant Jeffords we will have good advice. That scene straight out melted my frozen soul.
There are many moments in a series where a character develops and elevate to a higher level... For instance when holt knew why Jake punched the writer for calling holt the f word... from that moment holts relationship with Peralta changed from professional to personal ❤
Holt saying goodbye to Wuntch is another memorable tear jerker moment, at least for me. I had a similar rivalry with a friend in the past, albeit a lot friendlier. He sadly died in a car crash, and I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to him. So Holt's eulogy struck a cord with me.
1:47 I liked that Jake got closure... I felt like that should have been the last moment where Jake's father appears in the series. It confused and hurt Jake when he appeared again.
