I think "Adapt" should have been "Release the Falcon" and all the secondary attacks are performed by her falcon who flies at the ennemies and claws them !
You should make a video about the Butcher Bird modded class, not that she is diffcult to use but the mod is so criminally underrated that i believe she deserve further exposure.
She used to be somewhat similar to the Arbalest, glad to see she's more unique now. I'll have to check out if Marked by the Flock can be "cured" at the Sanitarium, since it's listed as a negative quirk, don't want too many camps to be ruined by them brigands. And yeah, Marvin did a superb job, as usual. You should make a guide for the Slayer and the Voivode, which are some of the best modded classes I've seen so far. The Slayer is basically the Doomguy adapted to DD's aesthetic and lore. He's a glass cannon, especially with his CC set, being able to do monstrous amount of damage, but cannot take that much in return. He has a self HP + stress heal, thankfully. The Voivode is a classic, honest-to-God, non-mosquito based vampire. He's a transformation class, his human form especializes in marks and bleeds, and also has a guard + riposte, while his bat form does most of his damage, with self-heals to boot. He also brings to the table a mechanic similar to the Crimson Curse, in which one of his camping skills produces an item, that when used cures Death's Door debuffs and has a chance to turn its user into a Spawn of Darkness. You'll see.
Slayer's moveset is a mess IMO. Can only do serious damage to the first 2 ranks, has to rely on his finale or pulls to hurt the backs. However, he doesn't have the HP or damage of the leper to justify his mostly shit range. Moves around a lot, meaning your team comp is limited too. The finale is great (but mostly nullified by the prot which is usually present on the only targets worth using it on) except for the gargantuan debuff applied to you. Can't use it more than once per battle or you'll die in one hit. All in all, you're basically running an inferior hellion if you use Slayer - similar damage potentials, but Hellion has actual range and more utility. Sucks that the coolest looking modded class is so utterly pointless to use. Doomguy shouldn't be Leper with a gimmick.
The one thing I honestly hate about Falconer is the fact that I honestly took a while to even realize Adapt was a thing because there's a good chance for falconers to not even come with adapt in the early game. Really should've been a guaranteed ability.
E5!. I gotta be honest.. that marvin did an awesome job with this. It left me quite surprised when I saw the camp ambush for the first time and even more when I saw the hostage girl for the first time and the rewards you get for doing the "Right" thing. similar to the fool. love details like that.
It's a cool idea to have a class with dual functionality in each skill, but it plays out rather clunky because of the interface restrictions. You have to wait through the animation of the swapping ability each time if you want to use a secondary effect instead of simply using shift click, right click or a similar easy method. This is unfortunately something a mod can't easily change. You also don't see the tooltip of the alternate skill effect until you have used the swapping skill which is why I often found myself opening her character sheet to read the descriptions and make decisions. Overall still a great mod and the old version (pre rework) is still available on the steam workshop.
Falconer would probably fit in my anti eldrich, bleed/mark group quite well. Not sure what I would take out for her though. Usually I run Occ/HM/Flag/Hell.
Yo Element! I'd love it if you can do a mod review on The Monk. It is by far the most fun class I've ever had in DD, and I bet you will have tons of fun with him :)
I'm so happy Seo left in the spirited cry ability. I use The Flaconer with The Seer class mod. So the clear stun comes in handy. Also is there a way to update the falconer without uninstalling and deleting the falconers I have?
According to Marvin: "The original is the revamped Falconer. In the mod list, make sure to enable the original and disable the test version. Then start up the save and everything should be fine!" :)
@@E5games Ahhhhh I was looking in Steam not in game, thank you sir! Really enjoying your videos, keep it coming! Please let Marvin know we appreciate all he does for us.
UGGGGH the first encounter I had with the 'flock' was a with a big guy that kept scrambling my formation so my crusader spent the whole fight doing nothing, only the Falconer walked away from that one.
This is why every crusader must got holy lance. It is single action but prevents shuffling because of this even if you don't use it should stay in abilities
How do I know which Falconer is which on the Steam choices? There are 2 and one says it is different from the other, has there been a 3rd change or on Steam you can play with both at the same time. Sorry if I am sounding obtuse. I did not realize there were fundamentally 2 different Falconers. By the way can you play with both versions at the same time?

my only problem with this mod is that any character has a chance to be marked by the flock randomly from any mission, as with other regular negative quirks… feels really broken when a few of ur characters get marked in the first few weeks and then a bunch of ripped talons party wipe a crew of level 1’s before you've even had a chance to recruit and use a falconer. really annoying… and feels like an error, because my impression was that you're only supposed to get the quirk from fighting the talons, similar to the corvid quirks. Disappointing because the mod looks cool but this kind of breaks it imo

Hey buddy, I’ve been watching a couple of your reviews and I must say that you do a great job going in-depth, but I have a big complaint. I seriously feel like you over-repeat things. You repeat the same thing 3-4 times over and this causes the video to drag out. This is just a nitpick, but I feel like you talk really slow. Maybe it’s because my personal attention span is that of a squirrel but a 30 min video for a mod review is really long. I just felt like letting you know.
Hey Nicholas, Thanks for the feedback! You're not the first to say this and I definitely do wish these weren't 20+ minutes long. The teacher in me has a habit of repeating things at times to make sure concepts are delivered clearly, and sometimes it's just a failure of editing. Believe it or not I actually cut these down tremendously. My goal has really been about paying service to the modders themselves: going over intention, concept, lore, added artwork, and that can really make these lengthy as well. Most of the feedback on these is positive, but I know that these would likely be delivered better if shorter. I'm striving to cut them down all the time, I'll see if I can be better about catching repetitive dialogue. Thanks!
So I would think about it this way: If you want to use 4 primary abilities in her kit like most other classes, you can totally do so. If, on the other hand, you want to use "Adapt" in your kit, You now have only 3 primary abilities (which is a penalty), but you can swap between their secondary effects -- Small iterations which will change whether an ability buffs the Falconer for +1 SPD or Debuffs an enemy for SPD and ACC, for example. The primary ability doesn't change, and you have 1 less while using "Adapt." To say that it's "6 skills" is only technically true since their flavor names change, but effectively, you're still just sniping while swapping a side-effect.
Not really. Plenty of male mods like Thrall, Wraith, Wanderer, Ronin, Bowman, Practitioner, Voivode, Templar, Errant Cleric, Privateer, Bogatyr, Bluesman, The Bloat, two different Barbarians, Monk, Shinobi, Exile, the Veiled, Blackguard, the Legion, the Hive, the Spartan, the Cannoneer, the Ashen Warrior, Prodigy, Iron Buddha, the Rescuer, Bishop, the Wretch, Zenith, Pit Fighter. Need I go on?
I think "Adapt" should have been "Release the Falcon" and all the secondary attacks are performed by her falcon who flies at the ennemies and claws them !
