    What about hydroxide you mentioned that you would be going over them in the introduction?

      At 1:18 he said the red litmus paper test can also be used to test for hydroxide ions

    So for white precipate formations is it only for aluminium, calcium and zinc

    how about ammonia ions

      Ammonia isn't ionic - it is a molecular substance (made up of NH3 molecules) - there are no ammonia ions. We can test for ammonia molecules however using damp, red litmus paper. Hope that helps :)
