@@Merdock-yp2xj here in The Netherlands we still have a energy drink called No Fear and it’s plays a pretty big part in the Dutch motocross scene. Don’t know if it’s the same company
Travis and I grew up on whoops that size at aquasco raceway back in the late 80s early 90s. Love it! Those where great times even tho the rest of us were racing for 2nd place....that was our first place because if he was lined up with us at the gates 1st place was his lol he used to pull over and talk to his pops let us all pass then chase us all back down and we weren't slouches but he was just that fast in 80cc super mini. Thank the lord when we hit 125s he was off competing nation wide and we finally had the chance to get 1st lol....we all loved racing with him though because we knew he was heading for greatness. The only one who could beat him was Joey Schuler who was also a fantastic rider but he didn't pursue turning pro which I never understood because he too had greatness in his future if he wanted to turn pro aswell. I can't remember onetime of Travis beating Joey in A class ever..granted Joey was a bit older than us but still he was a fantastic talent. Them 2 and Aaron Day were awesome to see battle once they beat us to A class joining Joey who was waiting for a challenge when they got there to battle him. If I had a time machine that's the years I would travel back to lol. Great videos Mr.Gary I absolutely love the stuff you post they bring back tremendous memories.
The year before Travis turned pro, he raced the night time SX track that Beasley builds during the Budds National for the amateurs. I was 25+B and Travis was 250a. I spent the entire track walk analyzing the whoops. With zero experience on them, I decided to dbl them and my friends were split on that and blitzing them. Blitzing them didn’t turn out as planned for them and I went ok and rolled when out of control. Travis yanks the start, heel clicker on the step over, makes the whoops seem like acceleration bumps and pulls far away. In your face! Second lap he picks the front wheel up to the 1 o’clock position and wheelies through the whoops!! “I’m outa here” chad said in disgust. His front tire didn’t bob at all, as if he was on flat ground. Glad Travis turned out to be an amazing dude.
I was just looking at an RM250, then I come across your channel - as if destiny is telling me to get one... Pastrana is so talented, especially at the art of jumping
Travis to track builder : build me the worst whoops you can think of. Track builder: Done! It's no wonder Travis has so much talent he trains on impossible so when he goes to a "tame" track it's a walk in the park.
I remember at *Club Moto* Livermore CA 1999 they had some massive uphill rockers uphill whoop section that was gnarlyier then this but ya i miss the 90s shit was dope
Ratsnrop Live lucky, I missed one of the best times to be alive ever. No damn phones, some of the best music there is, and one of the sickest eras of motocross. Now the world is cocked over big time.

we had those back in the 90's they had many names... The Coffins are the most common, due to the fact that you cold bury a casket inbetween them. They were common back in PJ1 Arenacross and other races. look up a race in Mexico that featured Jeff Matasivitch and Robbie Reynard.
I've been riding a LONG time and I actually love whoops and can tell you these are only pre dug 6ft graves and only missing the casket for the next guy who tries to tire tap them
@@Cody2nd it's just an opinion man. And since I've posted this did you see the Anaheim 2020 race a couple weeks back? They had some pretty big whoops. Not like in this video. Pushes the athletes out of their comfort zone. This IS motocross man. Not some sissy sport.
Those are pretty big whoops but I remember at a track in southern Maryland called AQUASCO they had the LARGEST whoops that were about 5 to 6 foot in height and steep as chit and this was back in the mid 80's when practically NO ONE was skimming the peaks of whoops then and they were kicking EVERYONES asses that day .in practice they were too steep and too close to comfortably get a rhythm down on them but finally had gotten worn down enough by the end of practice to be do able . I remember seeing TRAVIS as a young unheard of kid at BUDDS CREEK when I raced there lol I think that he was racing in *MAMA* then MID ATLANTIC MOTOCROSS ASSOCIATION I was racing in the DISTRICT 7 OPEN B CLASS back then there and later OPEN A CLASS
Of course, what kinda question is that? and do it waaaay easier and more comfortably, more efficient on your body, do you not realize what it takes to push a 250 2 stroke like that? 😂 450’s are Cadillac’s and will take you wherever you wanna go much much easier. And you answered your own question...modern...it’s a proven fact the bikes we have today have better chassis, better suspension, and handle better, make more power...etc. and just the simple fact that it’s a 450...not saying either one is better cause I love em both. But a 450 just does everything way easier and with less work, less arm pump, less tiredness...etc.
I think that atleast for now everybody knows what a 2 stroke dirtbike sounds like because everybody that is into dirtbikes has ridden or still rides a 2 stroke if hes younger
Milennials? Milennials grew up on 2 stokes you boomer. I was racing two strokes back in 01 and onward just as 4 strokes were really hitting the scene. You meant to say Generation Z. I'm 27 and grew up mixing gas sniffing exhaust fumes.
Trinidad Sanchez have you never been to a race track before....? What are you getting at with the “millennial” thing? Are you trying to be clever or? You got the wrong generation for one. And even if you named the right one you’d still be wrong, kids today are still racing 2 strokes, same with all of us adults today, we grew up racing 2 strokes, still do....so I’m not sure what your getting at. Yeah man, cool! You know the sound of a 2 stroke!!....So does anyone else that’s been around motocross for any part of they’re life no matter what age they are, and anyone making jack ass comments like this one clearly isn’t or hasn’t been involved in racing lol....your a real genius for pointing that one out mate...👏🏻....👏🏻....👏🏻....👏🏻

Hitting whoops on a 2 stroke perfectly is so enjoyable to watch on top of being music to my ears.

This ladies and gents is why he’s one of the best in The whoops
Being very tall really helps riding over long and deep whoops.
Unbelievable. Please keep posting this kind of content, Gary!
Thank you for all this footage! 👍 you are the MAN !!!!!

did he say "ow" when he hit them the second time? lmao
Blocke 😂 yes that was an ankle or wrist shocker

Double in the middle of the section is nuts
Mad scientist. Awesome in anything he does.
Thanks for bringing me back Gary!

2:56 literally realizes last second that he'll endo if he doesn't pick up the whole bike and wheelie that last woop. Savage.
Not literally.
maybe, maybe not. Still the amount of bike control

Well he rides KTM now lol but I wouldn't suggest a Suzuki 2 stroke anyways for the same reasons TP switched, mainly the lack of parts availability now
Beautiful
The king 199# Pastrana!!!!! Pure two stroke music!!
Nice work! These are great
These are unnecessarily huge! I’d imagine the theory is “ If I can ride these, the real race will be a cake walk”.
