As a saxophone player I think it is a great benefit to incorporate this training into your improve training exercises. It will almost instantly take you to another level in my opinion.

Hi Judith! I recently started practicing with a hand held microphone with a sufficent ammount of reverb and delay to correctly hear how my voice sounds, (I never really did that before) wich helps me build/correct my tone better than the (in person) lessons I took with a rock and another classical vocal coach. I'm a baritone and I can reach the notes (except for one note in one of your videos where I would need to force to reach, so most of the time I don't sing it) and want to practise at the same octave/pitch as you sing because, well, I love how high notes sounds. The problem I am facing for two weeks now that I am praticing this way is a shrieking (an unpleasant sharp frequency similar to what we ear when a baby is crying) sound coming with high notes, which I try to (physically) attenuate by different ways including closing my mouth a bit more. For some reason I always had (in person) female vocal teachers, and many "repeat after me" scat exercises videos online are done by female vocal teachers, maybe I should try to immitate a male singer for some time in order to improve my sound? I think I will look for a jazz song with a male singer with awesome highs, isolate his voice with IA and play/repeat after him every isolated sentence in loop for weeks until I improve my high notes tone..
Omg that was so fun!! I keep finding really fun singing exercises that are plain just fun to do. I used to think wayyyyyy to deeply about singing and overthink that I would be afraid. You (and others) have helped me so much realize that singing is supposed to be fun and it is really fun if you let it be. I truly think choosing Jazz as the genre to focus on has helped me have a lot more fun. Thank you for creating this; it was so fun singing with you!

The greatest way to learn music, the voice is the god of music, you can learn anything simply imitating your way with the voice, doing dishes or driving, its then much easier to master any instrument, if you could make also in a blues or Funk style I'd be very grateful, thank you for the awesome content.
