I love this !!! thank you so much. It's funny to me how in the winter my celtic ancestry pulls me more towards an irish way of singing with elongated phrases and minimal vibrato and melody, but in the summer my voice and spirit feel more lively and i feel like doing more things with melodic runs

I'd abandoned the Wim Hoff cold treatment, decided to re-accustom my mind/body by fun association. So, I'm stepping into the cold as you're saying, " welcome to Scat Kitchen". I know, cold sucks. But it feels soooo good when you're all done and back to warmth and still scatting. I spend at least an hour on vocals and body pampering simultaneously. It's a way to preen 2 birds with one comb...common saying. Steam and essential oils are great for the pipes.

Hi. Please excuse my late reply, I have been traveling a lot lately. How did your bass presentation go? I use the syllables intuitively, they vary in sound and rhythm depending on what style I'm singing (e.g. blues, Latin, funk...) While I'm improvising, I don't think about the syllables anymore. They just come out of my mouth. To make this work, I recommend practicing syllable chains first and not using too many different syllables. Chains of 4 syllables are enough for now. Here are a few examples: DOO-BAH-DAH-BAH DEE-BAH-DAH-BAH DOH-BAH-DAH-BAH WEE-BAH-DAH-BAH You can find many more examples in my exercises. When your mouth gets used to singing these chains, you can leave out some syllables and a rhythm will develop. I hope this has helped you a little. Best regards, Judith

And as a result of searching, I found a video of Scat. After practicing your video, I realized again that I needed to sing a song before I could play an instrument. I will do my best to sing a song with the trumpet as soon as possible. p(^^)q
