R.I.P. Benjamin Curtis.
I miss School Of Seven Bells. I only got to see them live once, in Austin, TX at Mohawk and it was such a great experience.
My favorite band. Miss them so much.
One of the greatest groups of talented individuals to create music. To think such a terribly aggressive cancer would affect the awe-inspiring musical genius that is Benjamin Curtis. I don't get too sappy over the internet, but thanks for the one of a kind music that very, VERY, few bands have the power to convey, Benjamin Curtis, thank you for having a direct influence on my life.
Such a wonderful band. This show was as close to perfection as I've ever seen. Such a tragic loss for the world. RIP Ben. You'll be forever missed.
2020 and I still miss
R.I.P. Benjamin Curtis :(
Was fortunate to see them live. Loved everything they did. RIP Ben, you were a great talent!
One of my all time favorite bands regardless of genres… The absolute ONLY thing negative I can say is that I never got to catch them live!
Thanks for sharing! 👊💥🍾🥂
Vielen Dank für das Video! Damals hatte ich dieses Konzert gehört und bin dadurch auf diese Band aufmerksam geworden. Seither höre ich sehr gern ihre Musik aber leider gibt es diese Band nicht mehr.
Glad I got to see them once. This is the best endorsement Hagstrom has had since Zappa. Such a great shoegaze band. RIP Benjamin Curtis.
I just heard this band for the first time yesterday - I'm sold.
A stunningly beautiful performance by a wonderful band
WHAT A PERFORMANCE...my favorite music
RIP Ben. You've left some legacy of music.
I would have given everything to be there and listen to this live
Ben you were too young to die.... all I have to say is thank you!!! Your talent and the good music you produced made me a better person and inspired me to enjoy such good songs as I do today!!! Good journey!!!! Bet you will keep playing to the other side of the world....
Really the best live video of SVIIB I've seen. Thank you so much for uploading.
That guitarist is great. The technical quality of their overall performance is superlative.
wow. I did not know the died. Tragic. :(
Tolle Band...
back here again years later because this rendition of the night is the shit
Great band! Much sadness involved but so much more joy, talent and pushing a musical boundary. PS This drummer just slays...so much stuff to learn in a short amount of time.
I love this band so much. 💜🥺💜
Their music will be forever ! Ηeartbreakingly great music !
I was so sad to learn a few minutes ago on KCRWs website that lovely Ben passed away 2 days ago.... All i have to say is my sympathy to his family, friends and School of Seven Bells. Such a talented guy, and i guess a wonderful person...
The worst way to leave 2013.
I m feeling a bit more alone now.
R.I.P. Benjamin
I can't stop watching/listening to this. It's soooooo gooooood!!!!!!!!
Oh what I'd give to see this set live 😍😍 absolutely love the sound of this band! I'm so glad I found them!!
Windstorm and loveplay!!!!!! Are u kidding me!!! Beautiful.... RIP Benjamin
Thank you you so much for putting this back on youtube i missed it so much.A real tribute .
You're welcome. I had some troubles with the copyright stuff. I used to have over 100 uploaded videos. By the way, I reposted a download link with the original video + 3 extra performances.
I knew Ben from Secret Machines… and he only grew into a powerhouse after… love this creative pairing so much
I think those in attendance really didn't know how lucky they were to be there. If I only I could have been...thanks SVIIB.
Such an amazing band. First saw them open for Interpol in Albuquerque. Instantly got hooked. Im glad I saw and heard them in person before Ben's passing. :)
I'll still be playing this on the virtual jukebox 30 years from now
5 years later still one of my best-liked bands.
Same here after nearly 15 years.
I also uploaded the original video (link in description). // R.I.P. Benjamin Curtis.
I added also the audio bootleg that I made from the audio track of the video. See the video description.
Links no longer seem to be working.
I updated the link. There are 3 extra SVIIB performances as a bonus.
An amazing performance!!!!!!!!!!
Really good expertly sung would have loved to see this concert
RIP Ben ...
I was struggling to think what I would give to see SVIIB live in concert but this has been as good. Ben Claudia and Alejandra made some beautiful music.
what a perfect set. wow!
Loooove…..
RIP Benjamin Curtis.
I am so addicted , I just knew this amazing band and my friend told me that Genius guy passed away..R.I.P Ben .
Ein Hit jagt den nächsten. Besonderer Anspieltip: ILU
Too good for top 40
I've loved you for years...
I have a slight photograph memory so it is not difficult to imagine very impressive
Thank you so much for posting this!
Thanks to my daughter turning me on to her music! Love there stuff so tragic on the loss of a band member! Thanks Cara Dossett just watching the clouds or are they watching me? Lol
Just listening in. It's been a while. Sorry. I met SSB long ago, or not so long ago. I met Ben back when The Secret Machines were just starting. (I'm an old roommate of Josh's) This led me to On!Air!Library! which I loved from the start and the sound of SSB just keeps evolving. This is not even my genre or generation and I still dig it.
Just found this video. I talked to Ben and Alejandra and Claudia when O!O!L! were opening for Secret Machines and Interpol in Asheville. Really nice people, and what a show. Oddly I somehow messaged Alejandra and she said she remembered that show. Then saw SVIIB at Moogfest, again in Asheville, and was so impressed... they were by then just Alejandra, Ben, and a touring drummer. So much creativity. Have to remember to cherish life and create art when we can, as it can end so suddenly. Thank you to all of you for the music.
Genius producer, such a loss !
Awesome! Love to see you preform! Keep Kool/Stay Frosty & Always Sing Your Heart Out My Friends! : )
the intro is a BLASTER
Woha! love this!
Wish I was here!
RIP Ben
Such a tragedy. So much talent. This band would've taken off in a major way.
Yep. The shoegaze revival that we've been in the last 5-6 years would have really boosted them in so many ways - financially, artistically, etc. They would have been able to finally break the chains that held them back - the stigma of shoegaze and the punk movement.
Yeah they are seeing a revival even now
Not well known is that the Edge was fan of Ben Curtis.
Damn just found these guys, what a great band.
A little late I guess.
I wish Ali would put out some new music.😊
I like this moment: 46:10
Son long, Benjamin.
Intro rulez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Girl at 1:03:58 - Dishin out the Rock On's like nobody's business...
I've heard song number two somewhere else.... I don't recognize the name School of Seven Bells though. It's probably how I saved this video to watch later to begin with. Think it was sampled in a hip hop song maybe?
NIce choice ... Nord Lead synth :)
any relation to ian Curtis?
Anyone know the name of the drummer?
no... but he did a very good job... they shouldve hired him lol
