The tips for new players navigating the first purchase were very helpful. Spending time with students who play a little, allowing them to reflect on how their ears respond is wise. Thank you for the share.
Great tips, thank you!! I am brand new to cello & looking for my first one. Having a tough time though finding info on which beginner level makes are the better quality ones. Could you please give your reccomendation on good quality beginner level cellos? Thanks so much!
I want a GOOD CELLO.. PERM DISABKED SINCE 1982. FROM DEPRESSION. NOW NEED CELLO TO EXORESSMY SOUL. NOW LIVE IN senior affordable *HUD) housing in elegant Orinda Village, CA. Took cello lessons as adult from Margaret Tait, cellist with SF Symphony!!
Well, why not? $1000 is not that expensive for a good beginner cello. Of course, if you go super-low quality, you can probably find stuff for $200 or so... That really depends by what you want.
@@Caesarnr93 Of course Andreas, $1000 is not cheap for most people and I understand that. There are instruments out there down to $200, but of course the quality changes a lot. But maybe you can find an instrument good enough for around $300-400 which can still give you enough quality to start with. If you have a music teacher, maybe he can help with that as well? I really hope you can start learning cello soon!
You can rent. It is around 40-60 USD a month gets you a beginner cello, from my understanding, as they are targeted more towards students and typically have to adhere to certain requirements for schools. You won't get a 5,000-10,000 dollar cello but you will get around 800-1,500 dollar cello to play around with for a few months if you're wishing to just try something out for a few months.

Virtual Sheet Music I want to learn how to play cello, and 1000$ seems like a lot for a first instrument that’s all.

Sadly the only decent under 1000 cello is a cecllio,
Beyond that, I'd say 2k is a better starting range
