I watched the video on Saturday. I went to T-Mobile got the same unit for $50.00. I have had Centurylink for several years and for the last several months have experienced several outages that occure on the weekends. We cancelled Centurylink this morning!
I tried T-Mobile Home Internet for a week, unfortunately it was too slow. They shipped me the new Arcadyn router. Best speeds I could get on the N41 Band was 120 Mbps down 5 Mbps up with 30ms latency. The signal meter on the router was showing 4 of 5 bars (Very Good) when situated on the second floor of my home. However, it wasn't enough upload bandwidth to handle a video Zoom call, so I had to send back the router. Tech support said there was some scheduled upgrades coming on the tower nearest to me, but couldn't give me a date of completion. I have to stick with the more expensive AT&T Fiber 1000 for now. It gives me 950 Mbps down, 900 Mbps up with 9ms latency for $80/month.
If you have a router attached to that thing, reduce the router packet size to match, I think it's 1420 or 1430 for T-Mobile. You'll get much better performance. MUCH better performance.

Can you watch 4k no, at least we can't. Will it. Run 1080 yes all day. On bad days we get 45-55 down 20ish up. With 6 devices we have no complaints. Occasionally it will drop out for 3-5 mins. But we had dsl and that was our only choice I could have ran faster and found the internet with the old provider. So this has been a great speed boost and cost savings for us. Can you game on it, yes but you have to really tweak your pc to work right, while it not perfect it will work. Without the additional cooling fan, the trash can wouk get very very hot. With the fan it Luke warm even when taxing the service hard.
I just installed T-Mobile Home Internet. I get typical download speeds of 60-70 but the speed can vary quite a bit. I watch streaming videos and notice occasional buffering. I get low bandwidth messages from Netflix and Hulu sometimes. The 5G bandwidth is shared ( cell service highest priority with home internet getting the lowest ) . T-Mobile limits the number of internet users per tower. I sometimes see download speeds in the single digits. I once had no service for 15 minutes. The high congestion period for me is around evening commute hours. I live by a freeway and imagine everybody on their cell at that moment.
That makes a lot of sense. I live in an area where I would not experience the same thing. It sounds a lot like peak time throttles I experienced on Comcast years ago. That is the interesting thing with this internet, it truly is not for everyone in every setting. I think it solves the issues some have while creating new issues for others. Dedicated bands that cell phones can't use would be an interesting solution.
I signed up for the service about three weeks to get away from horrible Suddenlink and I'm almost ready to return the gateway and find another internet provider. The service works okay about 70% of the time, but just like as I type this, the internet speed inexplicably drops to almost nothing for several hours, where I can't even load a social media page. Perhaps the service is not ready for prime time in my area so I can't recommend it unless you know you have real good 5G coverage where you live.
Do you know what bands you are getting from your tower? That often plays a huge role in how goo or not good the service is. Thank you for watching my video!
I called last week and changed my phone service from Verizon to T-Mobile. I wanted more hotspot data for YT videos. Went from 15GB to 40GB with the magenta max 55+ plan. Was told about this home internet and was placed on the waiting list. My question, if 5G phone service is available here in the sticks where I'm at, why won't the home internet gateway work here as well? According to T-Mobile, I have the 5G extended range. I don't understand why they're different.
First, a question. Did you talk to somebody about getting the internet or did you sign up for the waiting list online? I was also put on a waiting list until I talked to someone live and they signed me up for the internet. If they put you on a waiting list it means that they are trying to reserve bandwidth until they have more towers in your region.
@@JackNtheXbox Yes I did. They verified my address and told me service wasn't available here yet. Then put my name on the waiting list. The second thing you mentioned worries me. If they're waiting for enough people to sign up before they put more towers, I may never get it, huh?
@@DavidD-bg7uo Sorry that is not what I meant. They may be reserving bandwidth until they get more tower coverage. They have been putting boosters on power poles, so it could happen sooner than you think.

They do shut it down if it is running off of towers outside the contract area. I hope they remove that policy, because it would be awesome in my camper.
