I bought a champion 12v thrower holds a box of clays.. sits on a platform on the hitch of my SxS . cost me 150 canadian$ and throws at regualtion speeds...
I think just a hand manual thrower would be just as much fun ans practice as that expensive thing. Just not really seeing that as replacing other kinds of throwers.
I bought a used laporte trap for that sort of money last year . I think it'll just be another flash in the pan and in a couple of years we won't hear about it again..
I don’t want to be negative because anything that give the sport a help is worth it. I feel like €770 is probably about €500 too much for me. Even at €250-€300 I might take a while to come around to it.
Apparently from what I’ve just read the discs it fires are made from biodegradable materials and the main ingredient is potato starch from another video I’ve just watched on this device on RUclips.
Thanks for the review, although you missed out some important info. What are the discs made of ? They looked like plastic, if so they are not environmentally friendly and against all that shooting is trying to do. They do not give that satisfying hit you get shooting clays and see fragments flying everywhere. Also how much do the discs cost ? Much better to buy a S/H double seat trap for £250--£350 and clays for 10p than this gimmicky device.
I thought this would create targets more like Helice shooting ... But this is more stable and slower. Would be much better if this could replicate the unpredictable flights of Helice targets but for the price, a Manual thrower would afford you far more targets, and thus, practice. Almost a great product, that's simply decent.
Hi Projectgothamgtr, They do indeed create unpredictable targets and very realistic targets. It is a target you have to experience in person to see the flight pattern, the more wind there is the more unpredictable they become. Best regards Andreas, Nordic Clays.
@@nordicclays interesting! In the video it is very hard to see most of the flight paths but they seemed to just go straight from what i could see here. Again very cool concept, but it didn't look like there was much variation. Maybe it's the way/angle they launch from the gun or the speed they spin in this video that makes them predictable? I would think you could make different blade configurations for the targets so they veer more unpredictably after initial launch. Again very cool idea, I want to see more videos on this!
this is the 2nd or 3rd video Ive seen where shooters rest the muzzle of their shotgun against the ground, is this common practice in the UK? Im not resting my guns muzzle on the ground even if artificial turf
It looks like an expensive version of one of those hand held mini frisbee launchers that we had as kids. I would rather buy a 2nd hand manual trap and a box of clays. It's a 👎 from me.
Clays come out too fast when released close by, you would need to stand quite a distance away from one another to give yourself a chance of seeing and hitting them, need to be able to fire singles rather than pairs for a bit of variety. In its current guise I'd get bored of it after a couple of goes.
Hi Joe, The clays are launched at 60 km/h / 37 mph (adjustable speed). It is indeed possible to launch both singles and pairs/doubles. They are quite easy to see when you're there in person, but it has always been hard to capture the clay shooting sport on camera. Have a nice day. Best regards Andreas, Nordic Clays.
Hi Michael, Great question, the clays can fly up to 100 meters in normal conditions. But we've had a customer report up to 190 meters in Scottish winds. Let me know if you have any other questions, otherwise have a splendid day. Best regards Andreas, Nordic Clays.
This is targetted at such a niche, not many people have the space in their garden. It'll sell a few units but it won't make the product's owner rich in the UK Market.
From what I understand the price is the main factor. The machine is portable and will fire out up to 300 doubles. The clays are made from potatoe starch so dissolve in the ground but at £44 for 200 is a bit steep when a box of 150 CCI is £15 … that’s a bit of a difference. Normal Clay machines and a 12v battery certainly aren’t as portable but you can buy a pretty big one for £600 which is the cost of the Trap Master alone. I’m not convinced that the shooters can’t have a challenging simulation when the holder of the trap master can literally stand or point it in any direction and it has 9 speeds. Might be a case of wait for the Trapmaster & Clays to come down in price before customers spend their hard earned money …. I do believe they have there place in field sports and great for a day out on a permission with permission to use it.
I think it's a rich man's toy.especially for £500 to £600 you can get a lot of clays for that!, it's a bit like a cordless drill on steroids .Not for me the crapmaster.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
10mins, bored to tears... Drive to the clay ground. I have no doubt the American market will love it, especially as they have the space. The temptation for some prat to launch this in his garden and start firing 12g in a cul-de-sac is far too obvious. It will happen and then us certificate holders will be under more scrutiny
I wonder how many people have the legal space to use this in their back garden or even have permission to use a farmers field 😂 it’s a waste of money in my eyes
The cost of the Trap Master and its "clays" is too high for ready adoption by the masses, but the idea is sound. I am in the US and have been looking for a way simulate walked-up flushing quail for introductory classes I teach. This sort of device would be easy to conceal in the ground cover we have here. With a wireless remote control and a stand, it would be perfect. If the purchaser could print "clays" at home on a 3D printer, all sorts of possibilities open up. Might not even need a printer, depending on how the "clays" attach to Trap Master. All sorts of materials could be used.
Ok. I get it. Look I got a face for radio, and I know that. Maybe this guy should stick with doing something else. But that's just me. Also 5-600 for this thing that annoying to listen to, doesn't launch targets when called for, and the targets don't replicate the flight pattern of any sober bird that I know of. This was a bust form the start. Good luck though.
600-700 USD? lol. And a box of those is significantly pricier than a regular box of clays which are, literally, clay. I mean, biodegradable? What's more biodegradable than fuckin' dirt? I've got an arm and a box of dirt for $10. Who the hell is buying this?
£44 a box of clays! No thank you! Totally out of reach for the common man to use in this day and age! Ammo is already expensive. This is a gimmick for boys and their toys. How much did you get paid to promote this?
It's like a modern 1800's Gyro-pigeon only it won't slice you up if it hits you.
Rubber Lawn Darts.
In a following wind, they'll chase you
Gyro-chute, 1970s

The noise is annoying after just 3-4 shots..

I was going to ask exactly the same question as george has.
Looks like something Delboy would sell down the market 😮
If you can demo this thing at 29 cents per target, how about springing for flash targets at 25 cents per for other demo?

thanks for the video! great job

600 pounds to shoot a bag of potatoes? I bet you can't even eat them afterwards.
Thanks I was wondering about that.
Hmm, no - I'm afraid I don't buy it as the "future of clay pigeon shooting". It's an interesting gimmick that MIGHT be a bit of fun.
Agreed
for 500 pounds ..lol
No '' the cost is double that of normal clays , You could buy a post mounted trap and a box of clays for quarter the price ' 💥💥
Nice bit of tree surgery at 4:22 :D
The Trap Master looks like it would be much more fun as a beach toy than a target thrower.
The trap master beats the competition!

Might be fun a time or two but just doesn’t give off the nostalgia of dusting a good old fashioned orange flyer.
dont know many people who can shoot a shotgun in their back garden
And those who can, would probably just buy a pedal-operated traditional clay trap than this product IMO
Dave says weid stuff sometimes
@@michaelplank8966 sometimes?
@@michaelplank8966 Sometimes I honestly think Dave's parents might be brother and sister 👫
My impression of Dave’s review was that of someone being paid to say nice things about a product that they personally would never purchase or use.
What are the clays made of ?
Apparently 100% biodegradable mainly made of potato starch,
I applaud the innovation, but cost, and lack of space will limit its UK market.
this is the 2nd or 3rd video Ive seen where shooters rest the muzzle of their shotgun against the ground, is this common practice in the UK? Im not resting my guns muzzle on the ground even if artificial turf
A bit like ZZ helice
£700 crazy money, my clay trap was £40.
It looks like an expensive version of one of those hand held mini frisbee launchers that we had as kids. I would rather buy a 2nd hand manual trap and a box of clays.
It's a 👎 from me.
It looks fun but you can buy a promatic pigeon for the same price. Think it needs to be half the price really
Hi David, What are the clays made from? Do they degrade?
All Targets are biodegradable
A bit of fun but it's the person behind the gun that breaks the clay, not the gun or the cartridge, IMHO!
Your back garden thats a new one
I think the clays don't have enough mass so wind deflect it very easily ,but on windless day looks very fun...

❤nice 😊
Looks fun but not for a price like that.
Are the 'clays' clay?
Biodegradable plastic.
Are the clays reusable if not how much are they.
You said go out in the fields and shoot I wondered if that was legal ?
No David no , cheers mate ‘
He needs to be drug tested.
I sincerely hope that thing has got a SAFETY on it, as the guy initially holding it keeps pointing it as his own head ...
If it were cheaper I'd be all over it but it's more expensive than regular clays.
Getting there. Not there, tho.
Yall quit complaining about cost. Helice bird are still $3 US and you dont see me complaining.
I would like an f 16 though
why
The wider the bullets the better to bring down as many geese as possible
But you cant to mNy people complaining about noise how many yards does it put them out

No way is that noisey piece of gimmick the future of clays , how much for replacement clays ?
Not for that price.
From what I understand the price is the main factor.

pls make the "clays" orange .....
Driven targets might be a little awkward...
I wouldn’t consider this clay launcher simply because of the noise and price.
Yup the noise would drive me mad.
10mins, bored to tears... Drive to the clay ground.

this is ridiculous
Needs luminous paint
Yea I’ve got a good idea
Let’s spray even more plastic everywhere
How’s this gonna work when plastic wad is banned
What WTAF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT 😂😂
Rather buy a manual launcher and spend the rest on a thousand carts and a thousand clays. Might even have enough left over for some tea 😂
I wonder how many people have the legal space to use this in their back garden or even have permission to use a farmers field 😂 it’s a waste of money in my eyes
Imo it's an over priced gimmick. Fine if you have more money than sense !
Looks like a gas!
Wow how uninformative!
(It’s ‘something’ not ‘somethink’)
No way would I want that
Ive done laser clays in the past and was disappointed really as unlike real clays you just aimed at them and didnt 'lead' them.
Not impressed, might try it if I had the chance to; in order to make a more informed decision. Price is a bit high too.
Difficult to see " clays " on video, but this looks like an expensive gizmo that will die out after 20 minutes.
Bring back the old 'spring trap' back of a Range Rover, 500 clays in there as well, much cheaper than this posh kids toy
Too expensive for a bit of fun.
I'm half tempted to buy some of these pigeons and then make my own launcher. 5-600 dollars is a ripoff for a battery, esc, and motor....

Clay Cannon by Do-All Outdoors i far superior check it out
I have one. The trigger on mine is almost impossible to activate and you have to cant it to keep the clay inside it.
