But, relying on the kindness of my neighbor for a forklift, I would need it lifted onto my truck to go weigh, then lift it off for storage until shipping, then load it again when the truck arrives to ship to Ohio. 😳😖😥 If he can get cost down to $.50 ish per pound, I may take that route.

I do very little depopulating these days. When I started, years ago, I thought I'd be refining the precious metals and I depopulated a lot. After some research I realize this is not cost effective for a small operation so I'm now selling all boards and do very little depopulating. Depending on the board, I might take the gold cornered BGA, socket mounted IC's and some tantalum capacitors. But this is only if they are on a lower grade board where I'm not risking lowering the value of the overall board.

    • @sharkscrapper

RAM boards are also called RAM sticks. RAM stands for Random Access Memory. A PC reads and writes to this memory when It is moving data around. But nothing is permanently stored on the RAM like it is with the Hard Drive. RAM is just a temporary place where the PC puts data that is being used. Typically a RAM stick is 133.35 mm long and 30 mm high. But there are also RAM that are half as long, typically used in lap top PCs and other RAM that is roughly half as high. You'll find RAM on a PC motherboard stuck into slots with clips on both ends to lock the RAM in place. Watch a couple of my PC tear down videos and you'll the RAM I remove.

Why do the thumbnails of your videos have a small blue and yellow stripe on them? Is it just a general show of support for Ukraine?

Yup - I've been doing something like that since Russia began their invasion and will continue until it is over. It's a promise I made to my Ukrainian viewers. I also donate money to UNICEF to help the children so terribly impacted by the war.

Do you have a video comparing boardsort to cashforcomputerscrap? If not can you comment please? Thanks.

I do not have a video on that and have never used cashforcomputer scrap. However, I have compared prices and find that Boardsort consistently pays more. I've also heard from others who have used cashforcomputers that it can take a long time to get paid.
