Been binging these freeskate vids and after nabbing myself some I really am diggin' vids like this. I think seeing the technique shown in all these videos in such a clear and well edited way makes for a pretty intuitive learning experience. I got down the pump motion in just a few days but I really wanna get that form down before I move into more advanced stuff. Really helpful stuff overall guys. 🤘
Can't believe some of the comments this channel gets on these videos. The skateboarding community is so chill and supportive, yet I feel like some people hate on freeskating just because it's relatively new and still pretty niche. Hope someday it has a broader community with lots more positive energy. Glad you guys still manage to keep the good vibes flowing!
Appreciate that! We're used to the online haters. It's actually rarely actual skaters, just trolls. No one ever hates at the skatepark either. Most real skaters respect skill

@@jmkride True, doing tricks look like fun, but I'm at that mindset, maybe because I'm getting older, where I enjoy just the feeling of moving forward. I'm no longer into doing cool tricks, and moving forward is my high. I do hope that foot straps become an option someday. I also hope that these skates work well with barefoot shoes lol.
@brandovlogs I feel like it could help you get over cracks or lifted concrete. Safety could be similar to roller blades. I think the option would be great as it would allow one to choose their style
@brandovlogs Some elasticity would prevent any danger. The force required to lift the skate with the foot is far less then what would be involved if the skate got stuck and you fall.
I wish we even had flat roads. Here in Lebanon, it's always been pretty shit since all roads are insane uphills, not made for freeskating, half ass fixed, not fixed. People drive like maniacs 24/7. Even my street is terrible. It's not close to what we all know is considered smooth. Also, smooth giant outdoor parking lots (for stores) don't exist. Trains don't exist, Pollution is always. Even when I take my dogs on a walk the street a cross from mine, the street is progressively downhill. and when it's flat, the ground is so bad, it's unrideable. There is a small road where it's not to bad to ride, but it's such a harsh uphill walk just getting there. So I just drop that. The nearest skatepark (the one in Beirut) is 30 minutes away. With Gas prices being way to insane, it's worth going but once a year these days. The skating community ain't so kind either. Lebanese skaters are jerks and don't give a shit about respect. They think they own the park. And there are also a small group of less fortunate kids who beg for money or to try our boards. In that sense it's not really safe to leave your things hanging around. I'm American and French so I just was in Paris (2nd time) and Bordeaux/ Saintes (once every year). I went to the a skatepark in each area. Man the dfference is huge. There is a skatpark divided into 3 parts. One is for little kids. the one in the center is more for tricks and cool cruising in the skatepark. The third is more for professionals and stunts with bikes and boards. there is an abandoned one that's a bit extreme: A bit steep snake bowl that drops into a medium scary bowl, connected to another identical drop in bowl. (not fun). This other one is the best I've seen in a while! It's an open space skatepark near a park for little kids. The skating community is amazing, everyone is nice and fun. Smooth. It has edges of asphalt and red gripping ground that slow u down a bit but asphalt is smooth enough. It has 2 rails of medium high height// Drop in on one side, a wall that has at medium level, a drop in. Which in turn rolls down the ground level surface of the skatepark. It also has 2 benches where 1 is 2 sided. That's where we all sit and put our stuff. At the center where 1 of the rails stands, are 2 small but wide medium inclined uphill with a gap in the middle. There are quite a few. The One I went to "Skatepark La Redoutte" had a medium bowl that drops into a big bowl, that in turn also drops into a bigger bowl. The graphitizes are amazing looking. On the left side it has a harsh small uphill drop in and a small swirling circle. AT the front of the bowl is a long bench. My Favorite was Skatepark number 2 of Saintes. If anyone wants to chat with me, here's my instagram: Keenanpitzini1
Is there muscle building when initially starting. Muscle pain? I am thinking when I first started skateboarding on long commutes my non kick/push calf would burn a lot. Eventually it went away but it f***ing hurt and was a major pain when it happened.
There's definitely leg soreness of your inner thighs and at times the arch of your foot. It goes away as you build the muscles that are unique to the skates motion
if only everyone lived in a place with smooth empty roads like this close to my home i can only skate during late night on the bike lane since ppl don't give a shit and treat it like a pavement and there are scooters riding on it as well
Solid question! I typically head in by 10am, so somewhere in the 9-10 hour. This video was around 9am :) It’s also important to note that I took side roads through neighborhoods, and not primary streets. So my route in particular has low traffic to begin with!
I know i should not be asking this under a jmk vid lol but i recently purchased a pair of cheaper freeskates made by twolions. My question is do you think theyre passable and do your proformance wheels fit on em?
@@kyral4978 i had to use like 6 rubber bands per skate. It was looped through the JMK logo (since I didn't want to take any chances of the bands causing friction with the wheels). Seems fine with fun and exercise for a short commute like that, but it does not seem like valid all around car replacement unlike electric micro mobility or even a bike.

@@Route-kq8xd The main advantage of micro mobility like an EUC over a regular bike is that you can bring it along inside a store and have no need to park and lock it. It's also easy to store it just inside your front door instantly ready for use when you go out. That saves time for short shopping trips.
I don't know why but I feel a pain on the left side of my hip when I try to ride on my freeskate. I am just a beginner and I don't want to give up of them. ¿anyone has felt the same pain?

Yes, the more you ride the more endurance you'll have. You really need to build up the muscles and comfortability. You definitely can do it!
Will you guys ever add a foot strap option in these skates? I’d love an easy way to get up curbs.
that's the great debate. We like the freedom of no straps
