Don't be fooled, India is not much better than the US, it just doesn't have the accumulated power the US has. WION (for example) is as full of political disinformation as any other channel on the net. Wow!! I hope Saudi joins BRICS soon!! India will benefit sooo much from this!! However, I'm not sure how India-US trade relations will digress after the introduction of the potential BRICS currency... considering that a significant portion of our trade is powered by India-US trade relations, even after the US dollar potentially loses its super-power status, it could still impact India's economy. Plus.. I still don't really think China launching its digital currency first is a very good thing, as it will impact the security of the world, and China will most likely become the next most powerful country, and our tensions with China will rise further, with them having a significant upper hand if that happens.. I hope India can somehow crack the code to launch the system first (very difficult, but still...) for India and the world's benefits. Hope all goes well and India and the world become more peaceful, with fewer wars caused by that stealthy nation. Modi's government has most definitely improved our international relations and Dr.S. Jaishankar IS THE MANNN!! As he said in the preface to the paperback edition of his book, "The INDIA WAY", I quote, " Strategic autonomy can no longer be visualized as keeping a safe distance from dominant players. It is instead a derivative of capabilities, allowing the fending off of pressures and the exercise of choices. Nor should it be seen as autarky, a national state that is unsustainable in reality. In terms of economics there are several points which are both in and not in our interests
1)Issues regarding decreasing Dollar dominance is in our interests
2)Mutual trade among all nations have huge potential
3) Bringing balance in world order
4)But rising trade deficit is not at all in our interests
5)China is trying to kill domestic industry in a country by heavily subsiding their companies in order to dominate Indian market
6)Future economics can be a concern if Russia depends on China economically to a very large extent
Plus the most IMPORTANT thing is our territorial disputes with China will last for a long time. In autocratic countries like China constantly try to engage in conflicts in order to deviate public from core issues. We should never trust China both economically as well as politically.
China is very agressive at the moment it wants global dominance in all areas which is called as greed.
China doesn't even like the idea of free and open Indo-Pacific through which over 50% of Global Trade happens.
My another concern about BRICS is that in future when Russia's economic dependence on China increases then there is a chance that BRICS might turn into China centric group.
Maintaining participation in both QUAD and BRICS will be in the best interests.
But QUAD will take more time to get matured like BRICS
We need to co-operate in QUAD more if
1) Headquarters is established in Andaman and Nicobar.
2) QUAD Bank is formulated and established.
3) Mutual cooperation in R&D and manufacturing of critical technologies like semiconductors etc
4) Dedicated Cybersecurity mechanism in order to counter various cyber threats
But the problem with QUAD arises because
1)US don't like the idea of multilateralism as it wants to be the sole global superpower
2)Dollar will be the main currency which hurts when interest rates are hiked
3)US don't support other currency to rise because Dollar hegemony will be challenged then
4)US still tries to dictate India regarding our relations with Russia
The sole difference I observed in geopolitics with respect to India is that
Russia(officially Kremlin) has never raised any concerns regarding the rising India-US relations despite Russia having deep ties with India which shows some trust between India and Russia
Whereas US raised many concerns regarding Indian oil purchases from Russia initially
Even in the case of S-400 US tried it's best to put pressure on India.
Plus US uses Pakistan card whenever India works on self interests by increasing cooperation with Russia.
If US stops raising concerns regarding India-Russia relations and recognise India's independent foreign policy then I bet US will find best partner in the form of India.
2023 is going to be a big year for India geopolitically
We already have G20 precidency and this time G20 will be impactful.
Plus QUAD summit is scheduled in India.
I say balanced approach is the best thing to follow in geopolitics in order to maintain independent foreign policy, work with self-interests and achieve long term Economic and Geopolitical goals.

Related to Price Cap imposed by EU on Russian Oil: For India, Will utilization of INSTC for importing Oil from Russia be able to bypass or at least reduce the risk of Ships not being covered under Insurance from London based companies? As the Sea route reduces drastically and the Insurances can then be provided by Some Indian/Non-Western company instead. Is that a possibility?
They register their tankers under the Chinese flag, which Loyds of London does insure. The Russians have already found their loophole.
While INSTC is good for reducing the oil and fertilizer import bill, it risks getting sanctioned by US for trading with Iran. US is one of the few countries India has a positive trade balance with. Its not worth it to India to lose US trade to increase Russian and Iranian trade. For INSTC to be operational USA will have to prioritize anti-China over anti-Russia. If the anti-China faction in the State dept are dominant they will allow India Russia trade so as to prop India up as a bulwark to China and pull Russia away from China. However right now with the Ukraine war the anti-Russia faction is dominant.

Aditya, not any more. The World economy is too large to revert to the Gold Standard. All the gold ever mined amounts to USD 10 trillion. The global bond market is worth USD 100 trillion. Having a fixed amount of gold, as a means of calibrating exchange, limits investment.
Creating a Gold Standard requires Governments taking gold out of private hands at a low price, then benchmarking to currency at a higher price. If gold remains in private hands, investors will sell the gold internationally, if domestic interest rates are low. Can one imagine the private Indian population giving all their gold to their Government?
Moreover, volatility could be introduced into markets, because gold mining is far more efficient than decades ago.
The true essence of money is confidence, USDs, spices or cowry shells.

Nice video. 1 of ur best. A common Asian currency just like the Euro for the European union may bring in stability for the Asian countries and may not get much affected during bad economic times. Right now dollar has become the go to currency for all countries during recession and unpredictable events, if alternate strong reserve currencies emerge, dollars value will eventually decrease helping in bringing down the inflation world over.

The reason why I don't think petro dollar is fair is because Americans don't pay the price for printing more dollars anyother economy does it they have to definitely pay the price in the form of inflation. You can argue now US is having high inflation you have to note that it's not because of high circulation of dollar in the economy rather because of high energy prices.
If the petro dollar goes away the US will be stuck in forever inflation and pay the prices for amassing 20+ trillion dollar debt. The value of dollar will behalved which will also lead to massive inflation rates it'll take a long time for their economy to stable by the time every other nation would have grown so much.
But the drawback is that Americans could go to war just to make sure it's grip on petrodollar which will definitely be a world war afterall they do have one of the most equipped army

BRICS is best group of developing countries which have all the elements of development at one place. BRICS expansion will be very impactful with Saudi
Arabia and Iran most likely to join BRICS then
BRICS will have 3 big oil and Gas gaints. Even Argentina and Indonesia are likely to join

BRICS has potential to realise Asian Century.
Russia have lot of energy resources, China have
rare earth minerals and is global factory.
India is a strategic place between Asia, Europe
and Africa. Along with that India is the future
superpower and a manufacturing powerhouse in
making.
In terms of economics there are several points which are both in and not in our interests 1)Issues regarding decreasing Dollar dominance is in our interests
2)Mutual trade among all nations have huge
potential
3) Bringing balance in world order
4)But rising trade deficit is not at all in our
interests
5) China is trying to kill domestic industry in a country by heavily subsiding their companies in order to dominate Indian market
6) Future economics can be a concern if Russia
depends on China economically to a very large
extent
Plus the most IMPORTANT thing is our territorial disputes with China will last for a long time. In autocratic countries like China constantly try to
engage in conflicts in order to deviate public from
core issues. We should never trust China both economically as well as politically. China is very agressive at the moment it wants global dominance in all areas which is called as
greed. China doesn't even like the idea of free and open Indo-Pacific through which over 50% of Global
Trade happens. My another concern about BRICS is that in future when Russia's economic dependence on China
increases then there is a chance that BRICS might turn into China centric group. Maintaining participation in both QUAD and BRICS
will be in the best interests. But QUAD will take more time to get matured like
BRICS
We need to co-operate in QUAD more if 1) Headquarters is established in Andaman and Nicobar.
2) QUAD Bank is formulated and established. 3) Mutual cooperation in R&D and manufacturing of critical technologies like semiconductors etc
4) Dedicated Cybersecurity mechanism in order to
counter various cyber threats
But the problem with QUAD arises because
1)US don't like the idea of multilateralism as it wants to be the sole global superpower 2)Dollar will be the main currency which hurts when interest rates are hiked 3)US don't support other currency to rise because Dollar hegemony will be challenged then 4)US still tries to dictate India regarding our
relations with Russia
The sole difference I observed in geopolitics with respect to India is that Russia(officially Kremlin) has never raised any
concerns regarding the rising India-US relations despite Russia having deep ties with India which shows some trust between India and Russia Whereas US raised many concerns regarding
Indian oil purchases from Russia initially
Even in the case of S-400 US tried it's best to put pressure on India. Plus US uses Pakistan card whenever India works
on self interests by increasing cooperation with Russia.
If US stops raising concerns regarding India-Russia relations and recognise India's independent foreign policy then bet US will find
best partner in the form of India. 2023 is going to be a big year for India
geopolitically
We already have G20 precidency and this time G20 will be impactful. Plus QUAD summit is scheduled in India.
I say balanced approach is the best thing to follow in geopolitics in order to maintain independent foreign policy, work with self-interests and achieve long term Economic and Geopolitical goals.
