I had an unfinished garage. After about 40 hours of physical labor (not counting 4 trips to Lowe's), I now have a finished garage.
From installing metal edging to finishing the drywall, sanding, priming/sealing, and painting, join me on my latest home project! 😄

Great job! Good to see someone put in hard work into their home.
Thanks, Arin! :)
You're lucky, my garage isn't even properly taped lol. Thanks for the great video, I think I will follow through
Good luck!
Man, I am following all your advice. Currently, putting the border beads or whatever they are called.
Haha well I'm no expert, but glad my learning-as-I-go might be proving a bit helpful to you! :) Good luck and keep me posted! 😄
youre awesome bro , inspiring
Thanks! I’m no pro at this stuff, but we’re happy with the results and it’s neat knowing I did it myself! 😄
Great!!!👍👍
😄
also would love to see how you would finish the floor if you ever decide to do that too
Thought about doing an epoxy floor (if I did it, would probably hire it out), but decided not to (at least for now). 😄
So I was curious are you supposed to fill the space between the bottom of the drywall and the floor? My garage space has that gap all the way around at the bottom and was curious if anything needs to be done with it. Thanks and great video!
Great question, and I'm afraid I don't have a good answer for you. I applied the metal trim around it (as seen in the video), but as for the concrete parts that extend up, I decided to leave them alone. There are probably ways to cover that if you want a "really finished" look, but for me, this was good enough! Good luck, Aniket! 😄
20:05 that was hilarious 😂
I ended up with a custom pair of white-dotted Quiet Comfort Headphones after this project as well, as you can see in some of my piano vids 🤣
@@CharlieAlbrightPianist haha, great job by the way, thanks for sharing. That's a lot of work for an average person
@@nujxad Haha thanks...it was a nice DIY project 😄
Could you share a list of materials or tools that you used as well if possible? :)
I'm afraid I don't have a complete tool/material list to post, but I did try to explain most of what I used in the video. I didn't have/use any crazy tools, and any that I bought, I mostly (if not all) found at Lowe's.
Be sure to sub for more, and thank you for your support! 😄
I am planning to do this project on my garage aswell, I did want to know though what grit did you use to sand the walls ? There are many options sponge or sand paper and I don’t know which is more convenient
Sorry, I'm not sure what grit I ended up using. Good luck with the project! It's a lot of work, but can really turn the garage from 'meh' to 'nice.' 😄
Looks great but spraying is soooooo much faster!
Thank you, @thegamerbrotherman2399! Using a sprayer would have definitely made it easier! Let's just say I used muscles I didn't know I had doing this project! 🤣 Be sure to sub for more, and thanks for your support! 😄
Thanks a lot for sharing. Can you explain what you meant by cutting in all the stuff on day 5? Are you just sanding the corners?
Hi, @kartikhapar! By "cutting in," I'm referring to using a paint brush to paint stuff in (i.e. primer) from the interior sides and corners (places where the roller can't reach), so that I can come in with a roller afterward and get the open flat areas. Thanks for watching and for commenting! 😄
@@CharlieAlbrightPianist Thanks!
@@kartikthapar No prob! Be sure you're subbed for more, and thanks again! :)
I felt it each time you said $500 🥺
🤣 Make sure you're subbed for more, and thanks for your support! :)
@@CharlieAlbrightPianist I just realized you’re a pianist. Classical music is my favorite genre. Can’t believe I came across your content from the garage remodel angle 😂
Sub’d!
@@freshtapcokeLOL that's hilarious! Yup, I'm a concert pianist (on tour now in the midwest, finishing up a 23 performance tour). DIY stuff is a hobby I love to do...thanks for your support and for subbing! Hope to see you at a concert sometime soon! :) (My full schedule is at charliealbright.com/schedule). Thanks again! :)
$500 for an O-Ring?!?! Did you fill out a police report? Cause you got ROBBED!
Crazy expensive, right? At least now I know how to replace one myself if I ever need to in the future… Be sure to subscribe, and thanks for your support! 😄
great video man, but your talking volume and the music volume are not the same, so i have to drop the volume everytime the music comes up
Ah sorry about the audio levels! Thanks for the support!
$500 for an o-ring, hahahah!!!
I know, right?!? I was shocked, but thankful it wasn’t anything more serious. At least I learned how to fix it myself for the future. 😄
@@CharlieAlbrightPianist people have me so paranoid that I can’t replace a toilet, but honestly I don’t see how hard it would be. After seeing this, not sure if I’m reassured or scared of a leak now 😅
@@ava427 I've never replaced one myself (at least not yet!), but I think I could if I needed to. But, I think a buddy to help with the project is important (i.e. lifting the toilets, etc.). Also, it probably depends on how "handy" you are. But if you are already good at DIY stuff and have a friend to help, I think it's probably a do-able project for many people! Good luck!
