Pro tip ...cover any un used holes with a golf ball or foil or painter's tape to block the light to avoid algae forming...second tip is if seed starting tray.. use just water until true leaf forms then use half the food nutrient solution.

This is an important tip. If you let light go through, it can make the water gross.

Last page of directions for this system says start seeds in cotton cloth or towel and wait till they sprout. Seems counter productive. Makes sense to put directly in that pod. And they never expound on getting Sprouts into cone. Very strange. Your directions seem better. Thoughts?

Ask your pharmacist for a large 5 ml syringe....u can remove needle and use it to pull out the correct amount of nutrients solution...or you can buy droppers also at pharmacy...I told my pharmacist what I wanted it for..he gave me a syringe and removed the needle for me ..it just twists off

I just bought one of these units and it came with some "feed" and with the most un-useful instructions.

I have a question, not about this current video, but...I am trying to use five gallon buckets to grow some potatoes. I have many holes drilled for drainage. I have watched many videos about wicking systems, which I am going to try, but, if I plop my well drilled buckets down into a shallow container of water, will water wick up through the drainage holes and water the buckets from below?

No problem. Yes the water will wick up but you don’t want potatoes to sit in water either. Potatoes are root vegetables which you want the soil to dry out between waterings. So this set up wouldn’t be ideal for potatoes.
