I suppose I should’ve added that my opinions come from a very casual perspective. I am not a diehard Main of any weapon, and I certainly lack the more nuanced understanding and appreciation of each weapon that comes with maining a weapon.

You should add chapters to the video. I clicked to only look at the weapons I’m familiar with and almost clicked off when you didn’t have them. Stayed around because you’re a small channel though, and I can see there is a lot of effort in the video. Hopefully that doesn’t come across as demanding, I’m just trying to give a perspective that could help you grow.

Hunting horn already had bubbles in iceborne, people tend to forget they were there because of how small they are
Wilds just made them bigger and actually useful and that's a huge W for me

Heavy bowgun can charge its focus strike to basically triple its damage, you can also charge the offset attack in the same way.
Light bowgun lets you do that continuous fire if you hold shoot then dodge while you have the attachment on

Spinning bludgeon can follow up any attack, not just a charged one.
And the mighty charge can be entered before the final bash of the big bash combo

Honestly i think the trick gauge for bows is a solid addition, straight up the only reason i never played bow apart from close coating build in rise is that i always worry about not bringing enough coatings/materials to hunts. Also keeping them tied to your gameplay kind of reminds me of how you upkeep your buffs on gen 5 insect glaive. Might main a bow for wilds when it drops

Nice video! One note about the greatsword and it's damage, it seems like it was rebalanced so that the first two charges deal more damage, and TCS took a cut. So now it's actually worth going for the full combo, or at least adding one extra charge attack :)
For the charge blade, overcharging phials make, and then storing them into the shield, makes the buff stay for a longer amount of time. I am not sure if it increases the damage, but it does increase the duration. It also got a new move, where you hold R2 + Circle, you can now charge your shield directly. No need to go into the startup of the AED. :)
Savage axe is also here, and can be applied by either making a wound finisher, or guardpointing an attack, and then going into the axe combo :D

The the extra charge on the charge blade I belive it will add more more attack power to your phials (I noticed it when I go in axe mode or use SAED), and the other way to get into Savage Axe mode you do a perfect guard and its a follow-up (I think just go into axe mode right after the perfect guard to get it i kinda forget lol)
You're welcome for the tip (I cannot wair for Wilds, please be next year already!)

So this is what I learned from insect glaive in monster Hunter wilds is it's like Sunbreak but better you said now there's like a resource spending thing going on with insect glaive and it wasn't natural because the charges were supposed to buff you, you might not have known this but in monster Hunter Sunbreak one of the wire bug skills for the insect glaive turns your kinsect into a nuke that spends all three charges that exploded wherever you decided to throw it then depending on where you threw it it would grab a charge then launch your character into the air and the way you would use it is you would wait till your buffs were about to run out then use the nuke for massive damage that was my favorite wire bug skill I'm glad they worked the spending your charges into a core mechanic of the insect glaive instead of just letting them run out you have to keep a mental timer in your head and when to make space to execute the attack it adds a badass layer of combat to the insect glaive that I love from Sunbreak

    • @BakeNation_MH

Ooh yea you make an excellent point! I forgot to mention how the Rising Spiral Slash is similar to the Awakened Kinsect Attack silkbind from Sunbreak! It’s really cool how Capcom has implemented an extract spender move in Wilds for those who liked it in Sunbreak

LS, Bow, CB, GL are my 4 favorite weapons overall and in the beta.
Most of the other weapons are ones I need more time with. The one I hated was Lance so I'm glad to hear it's getting a major overhaul for final release, I just don't know how they can make it something I like.

I played Adept Style Bow in GenU so I do not think the bow getting a perfect dodge with perks is a bad thing, I am very excited as a bow main. But I also plan on using the charge blade a heck of a lot more if not mainly, especially since you can swap between weapons on your Chocobo.

the problem with the insect glaive charging is the inputs
on controller you have to crab claw to charge whenever u want to move the camera
which is not healthy for your hands

    • @ABIADAB
      @ABIADAB 6 дней назад

not really imo, i dont use the claw grip and i can still control the camera just fine. one tip that i can give is to learn when to release your thumb from the button. most people have trouble with aiming the charge attacks but most people just doesn't notice that charge attack have a very lengthy animation that you can't cancel, when the animation start you can start aiming your attack, no need for claw grip.

  • @jockpackage1770

The point of new LS is to use crimson slashes during red buff and helm splitter just before you run out. You can use one or the other as play stylse but you can also use both.
hammer's offset can be held too, like with HH, only it's not trash that you have to cue and can only cue once so it's worthless to try and cue it again before using it. Hammer was one my favorites in the beta, it and SA but we'll get to that.
Ah, liking Wilds lance. It's the easiest way to say you're not a lance main without actually saying it. The pokes and ability to be responsive, by blocking or poking mid combo at any time is just gone. Lance stole all the hit lag from every other melee weapon. Also, having a charged attack at the end of the high thrust just feels wrong. If we have to hace a charged move, make it the sweep again but ensure it's only use is wake up hits but have it be terrible for dps compared to combos. Lance has no large single hit so a move that fills that niche alone would be good.
Yeah wyrmstake full blast took a bit to get use to. Best way I found to use it was, after a full burst, (I see switch controls so I'll use those) X, X+A, X/A twice. Yeah that least input doesn't care what you use between the 2 but after the first of those two you have to make a choice. This is because if you execute the final move, sure you get 2 guard points but you can't move or cancel out of it. You can cancel out in every other stage of the combo, apart from that least input.
Full release should be powerful but not so much so that the best play style is just spam that 1 move as much as you can. I do love how there are now 2 options for using amped state and ZSD is more of the defensive of the 2 now. Since latching on gives you hyper armor. You really have to think about what you want to use amped state for, either all out offense or defense with some decent offense as a bonus. It's the best flow SA has ever had. They just need to buff the kit so that you don't need to spam full release to prevent yourself from falling behind lance in damage... I'm not joking, look at the beta speed runs, the only reason SA wasn't last was because of full release spam. Sucked that it was weak but that can be easily fixed. The feel was so fun.
Overcharged phials only have 2 uses, longer shield time and axe mode A attack discharges. SAED gets really bad multipliers for the stacked phials. The focus strike is also overrated and a subject of a lot of misinformation. Short version, focus strike is as worthless as every other weapon's that isn't IG. Charged axe is easy to get, just perfect block once and press X. Hmm, that's another misconception, you can just do SAED without the AED lead up. If you block, in any way, you can SAED right after. Guard, perfect guard, guard point, doesn't matter. Also No, the way to go is to use savage axe and A attacks to use the double amount of phials one at a time for as many hits as you can. Ideally getting 2 explosions per phial, with the double swing after a light attack in axe mode, so it's 4 explosion each not 2. Since you have double use and half cost at the same time. Savage axe is as overtooned as full release slash, only difference is they didn't also nerf everything else around it.
Rising spiral slash's hit box sucks, it will be very match up dependent on if you can get your extracts back. Also, Capcom heard us so the bounce/aerial play style has returned. The kinsect controls were god awful, if you wanted to play it the old way without focus mode. They also claimed that focus mode was a choice, with these controls, it's not a choice for IG. If you can't fire the guy, demote them to be a janitor. It was so easy to fix, just use Iceborne swap to slinger controls by letting us use R3 to toggle focus mode on weapon that can aim so trigger controls are untouched on aiming weapons. Also, Tokuda's reasoning for removing the bounce is hypocrisy. Other weapons didn't get full mechanics removed to "encourage" (translation) force players to use the new moves. Only IG got that. Now it seams like both play styles will exist, in the full game. I'd tolerate the new play style being the only one, with fixed controls, if the reasoning wasn't that stupid.

You have to do that lunging attack (either the draw attack or X+A) into one of those walls that your hunter will half climb up then jump off of. An example of such a wall is the middle pillar in the final Kulve room.

As a bow main, you saying the bow perfect evade feels overpowered and doesnt fit with the kit clearly tells me you havent played bow enough in the previous games, it straight up makes you able to focus on more offensive skills in low/high rank rather than stacking up stamina surge and constitution instead of the shitty stamina management bow has in literally every game that came out previously

  • @Marchtembuary
    @Marchtembuary 7 дней назад

I think you missed the big thing about hammers new spinning bludgeon.
It’s not just usable after charge level 3. You can combo the spin after ANY attack, including follow ups to the spin giving you access to infinite combos.
This change alone has turned hammer into a very combo heavy weapon where you have to decide whether it’s best to combo into an offset, spin, mighty charge, etc.
Once you get the hang of it the hammer is INSANE and as a long time hammer main I very much welcome the changes

While agree with most takes, CB and Lance's changes are very controversial. I'm personally for CB having 2 distinct styles that have different strengths and encourage you to make different builds. And lance... well I think you're in the minority of people who really enjoyed it.
Also on the topic of positioning, focus mode allowing you to 180 with a TCS seems far more egregious than bow's perfect dodge, but I still agree its a bit too much (not to mention LS' new helmbreak cancel and super armor- getting punished for bad positioning is pretty much gone with that weapon lol).

    • @czairkolmoslink5952
      @czairkolmoslink5952 7 дней назад +1

I'm a Lance main but it's pretty much there where a lot of moves that were weaker then older versions, having the Charge Counter be hind 3 pokes was another problem, hops where changes, and other stuff. while Rise players hated the loss of options. but there was a lot of stuff and Lance mains always feels like they are the last weapons thought of. So it's how it is.

I'm judging you purely based on your Switch Axe opinions >.>
    Glad that yoy loved it!
And since i exclusively played Switch Axe...
    I love it.
Focus Mode/Strike is pretty much a way to decide if you want to exploit the wounds as much as possible, or instead use your fancy finisher to destroy the wound on exchange of immediate big damage
Offset attacks was tough, but everytime it happened, OH BOI, indeed felt incredible
    Wish SwAxe had a Clash...
    Speaking of my baby...
Switch Axe finally put the SWITCH aspect of the weapon now that the Sword Gauge only fills by attacking with the axe while in combat, the new Spiral Roundslash that happens after morphing from sword to Axe is the most important tool to manage the Sword Gauge's recovery, since this recovers the biggest amount of Gauge among any other Axe attack
The Unbridled Slash/Full Release is by far my favorite addition, a proper evolution of Trance Slash' finisher perfectly integrated on the playstyle
ZSD is finally not the way to go playstyle. Love it.
The counter is not as busted as in Rise, but i'm reslly okay having a counter, especially since this new counter keeps the risk reward aspect the weapon ever had
Relentless as the powerhouse this weapon deserves to be.

Disagree with the perfect rush finish being the Rise version, hated how the one in World sends you flying away from the monster.
Also the Echo Bubbles were in World so I don't see the problem. As for them being Immersion breaking, this is a world where one of the most popular monsters is a literal living jet engine and it isn't out the question for regular monsters to spit fire or electricity, Monster Hunter is fantasy.
