Have you done the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra?
Quarterflash
Well,if you like more old school rock, why not a finnish band called Hurriganes, and their album Roadrunner 1974.I would like to hear your comments and analysis specifically on the lyrics of for example Get On.
My favorite CCR song. 2 minutes and 30 seconds straight ahead, the rhythm section does only what it should. No breaks, no cymbals... i love it.
Funny story, this was the first CCR song I got into when I was young without knowing anything about the band. From the sound I figured they had to be a Southern Rock band and the "green river" had to be the Mississippi or one of it's tributaries. I was blown away to find out they were from the Bay Area and the "green river" was probably the delta of the Sacramento River, a river I lived just a couple miles away from.
Many people thought the same thing.
Yeah, when I talk about Long Cool Woman (in a black dress), I describe it as an English band trying to sound like a California band trying sound like a Southern band 😂
I did too.
I got to see Fogerty in concert a time or two. About this song at one show he told the crowd that, as a child, his parents would take the family to a campground. The old guy who ran it was either the son or grandson of Buffalo Bill Cody. The "old Cody Jr." in the lyrics was this person.
This is my favorite CCR song!
And they had many great ones their sound was so unique at the time and still is.
Thank you for a wonderful reaction and your breakdown of this song!
Thanks! Loved your reaction and all that fun analysis!
🙏🏻💖🐶💖🙏🏻
oh I so love CCR !!!
CCR were so home spun and down to earth that they are the embodiment of Americana at it's beast and the story telling was always engaging. I love your reaction by way and it is obvious you like the band! Keep 'em coming.
No matter what CCR sings I love listening to them. Thank you Mike for making my ears happy and you Maggie for your wonderful reaction to it.
CCR was big during my college years. Loved them. Good reaction, Maggie.
excellent insights from Maggie :`D learned a lot about vocal technique too - many thanks !
This was my favorite song of all time for a while... Still is one of my favorites.
John Fogerty is a brilliant writer/performer.
One of my first two favorite songs…ever…was by CCR. "Down on the Corner" was playing on the jukebox in an old cafe in the Smokey Mountains. I was on a family vacation. The song stuck with me.
Great river footage, but the one with Pan's People all dancing in sync is well, yay also😉❤🎵🤙
John Fogerty, the singer, is the king of song hooks and wordsmithing all within 3 minutes. Back in the day most songs were geared towards AM radio play, which required songs be within 3 minutes. It wasn't until FM radio became a force, where they played longer songs did songs finally get longer. But back in the day AM radio ruled.
Love me some CCR. Woot woot! Happy early birthday!!
Love your commentary. Very insightful
Flat car riders and cross-tie walkers is a throwback to "Hobos". I could tell you some some things about the stories that My grandmother told Me of hobos. It really woke up the romantic in Me and My love of writing.
Gettin down n dirty with some of the music now, huh Maggie? You're something else, lol.
Love this song and CCR!
One of my most favorite CCR songs
CCR has also had that old boy /country/blues mix-easy listening...love to hear you do this :)
This song and Lodi are my Favorite CCR songs. The guitar licks and John's singing makes it timeless....as All CCR songs are. Do, Tombstone Shadow on the same album " Green River " it is great and they should have released it as a single to, along with " It Came Out of the Sky" on Cosmos Factory
One of my all time fave songs! dbl ♥
If you would be up for it - Alabama did a cover of this and they made one small lyric change - but besides that ; Alabama did it just like they would sing any thing else ; they weren't trying to be CCR singing a CCR song. I like both versions the same.
John, Tom, Stu, and Doug were from working class northern California. They had 14 straight top ten singles from 1969 to 1971 (unfortunately, none made Number One), and five consecutive top ten albums. They were the first band signed to play at Woodstock. No other group were hotter at the time.
You singing it makes me think wow!
Gad to finally see the lyrics cause I never have been able to make out most of what he was singing in this tune when just listening to it without lyrics in front of me.. This is one of those songs that it's so easy to mis-hear the lyrics.
The opening picture is not a picture of the actual guys in the group, they are just dressed up to look like the guys in the group but the song is CCR and this is how Creedence is spelled. Creedence Clearwater Revival members are “John Fogerty”, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford.
Yay! My favorite Creedence song!❤
one of their best brother!
i think you'll like this song "John Fogerty - the old man down the road"
As the kids would say today "that's a banger" 💯🔥👊
CCR was very popular here in Germany. During the time when the US Military families were still stationed at Frankfurt Airport, CCR gave a concert and I went there with my friends. I was 16.
Hola. Saludos 🙋🏻♀️👍🤓
CCR a sound background of Vietnam.
Up around the Bend 💯🔥
Thanks for doing this one. My first favorite band back in '67. Um, the photo you used is of a CCR Tribute band. Notice there is only 2 e's in the word Creedence. (Credence). Thanks
Roberta Flack's 1972 Grammy Award Winner - Best Song of The Year - "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face."
Dropping those Rs like they do in southern Louisiana...
Wonderful reaction. This song by CCR has always been og my top 10 favorites by them. The Mega - Country Group { Alabama } did a cover - please at listen to it.
Love me some CCR in the morning!
Maggie Look at CCR Running Through the Jungle
My favorite!!
My favorite CCR song.
Not sure who that photo is of, but it is NOT Creedence Clearwater Revival. It could be Creedence Clearwater Revisited, which did not include John Fogerty. HE was the heart and soul of CCR.
No, probably a tribute band. Revisited has five members, and those don’t look like any of them.
Lucy Thomas has recently released a beautiful cover of Unchained Melody. It is perhaps her best studio performance to date. In my opinion, it is the best performance of the song that I have ever heard.
CCR doesn’t have a bad song.😊
The band's signature sound was called "chooglin'".
The photo at 1:44 is NOT CCR!
I remember when this song first came out. Even now, decades later, as much as I like the music I still have difficulty understanding the lyrics because John Fogarty sings like he's gargling. That's been his style and if it wasn't for various printings of the lyrics through the years, I'd still be scratching my head over some of the words.
John was/is a damn genius.
👍❤️❤️
More creedence!!
Fogerty cultivated a New Orleans accent in his singing. It sounds strange but New Orleans and New York accents have a lot of similarity .So when you said he says water with a New York accent , that was really a New Orleans accent . . After the original French , New Orleans had a similar pattern of immigrants as New York { Irish and Italian } The pattern of speech is different , but many words are pronounced alike .
You know from your reaction, seems like you could make this kind of tune with your own styling, please try it, we want a rendering!
New Yorkish Wata. LOL. Love that comment.
Love CCR Please do SWEET HITCH HIKER and UP AROUND THE BEND by CCR
Ccr. Midnight special. I belive you would enjoy it.
Try "Wish I Could Hideaway". It's a good one for you to analyze his vocals on.
Maggie, have you listened to and/or reacted to "I Put a Spell on You" by Creedence? If you haven't, it would be a one to do.Also, it's off their first album which shows their talent early on
John talks about old Cody Jr. old Cody Jr was Buffalo Bill Cody Junior.
Check out some john Fogerty songs John was thelead singer for CCR he went solo years ago
The photo is not of CCR
My only complaint about CCR songs are they're too short. Yes, this made them radio friendly, and that's how they got a lot of air time. I just wish there was more.
They pretty much invented the genre of Swamp Rock, and it doesn't get much "swampier" than this!
The Foto ist not member of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Foto is a Fake
I think it's a tribute band,
Please do SWEET HITCH HIKER bY CCR next
Why have you never reacted to another track from Ren since Hi Ren? Chalk Outlines Ren x Chinchilla is a departure from Hi Ren in terms of delivery and performance. He is the most versatile singer, musician, performer out there and this duet is beautiful
You do realize the photo at the beginning of the video is not CCR, right?
That is not a photo of the Band except for John.
Are you sure that this is John Fogerty?🤣
One of my favorite bands Yhe lead singer does have some glitches He has a serious speech problem except when he sings . I love thier style and their real American sound Southern rock, blues and aome soul.
What the hell are you talking about? John Fogerty doesn’t have a single issue speaking.
@@ralphdougherty1844 Well, to be fair, John's voice is way more high pitched in the past 25 years, than his CCR days. Almost like he is trying to sound 'nice'. It would be hard to maintain that singing ability post age 65 though, so the fact that he is still performing and belting it out is credit to him.
That pic is not CCR.....
That picture is not CCR.
Could you do a song cover by a mother and son duet cover rise up by Jordan Rabjohn it feel good song
i think i like you madam...like a bro
The photo is not CCR at all.....some coverband.....
So he has an accent? Got it
WTF have you find this picture? This is not Credence. This is a tribute band.
I think it would be cool to see a chick singing this song
Like You But Talk to much
