I dont think Soda meant he wasn't putting in the effort with learning (whilst playing) it's very common for WoW players to research things outside the game and for an experienced player it would be the expected level of effort. However, T1 is new and doesn't know this is a very common thing to do for WoW, so Soda shouldn't expect it from T1 like he would a seasoned WoW player.
This is exactly right. However it’s not like research is hard to do these days. It’s one google search. He also can’t start crying and saying it’s disrespectful when it’s the truth. He is putting in a lot of game time, sure, but he consistently disregards add-ons and is for some reason unwilling to do any research. By definition he is not trying to learn all that he can. That is the truth.

Fr. The guy explaining didn't take T1's lack of experience and knowledge into account, and they've done dungeons together before, so he knows the level T1 is at. He doesn't even know how threat and taunt work. T1 needs a tank mentor, or needs to watch a video about tanking. Ideally, T1 should also watch one of the many 2-5 minute videos explaining every mechanic in any given dungeon before he enters the instance. Literally 1 or 2 videos and this never would have happened.
Threat meter is one of the most basic addons. Proud of you though Tyler we all have gone thru this with this game. Your done great though Tyler don’t take it personal.
Telling your group "hey if you group with me you're probably going to die" isn't a sufficient excuse to not learn the things that are necessary to keep your team alive as a tank. Tyler should have pressed his question about getting healed while he's CC'd. The group would have picked up on his clear lack of understanding on the mechanic and a wipe could have been prevented. At the same time Sealion and the other group members should have listened to Tyler's question and not blown past it. A single misunderstanding on this boss results in exactly what you see in this video. I'm honestly shocked they even did this boss.
To be fair, they ass-pulled earlier than they probably intended so time was also not on their side to have that whole conversation. But it did need to happen.

By putting in the work, soda means maybe watch the video of how to do the boss before you actually do the boss. That’s how you put in the work to understand the fight. It’s not your fault you didn’t know but did you look up an explanation on how to do the boss?
Linking the day 1 addon breakdown to explain that tyler has been told about threat meter before is like telling someone in astronaut school 1 thing on the first day and expecting them to remember it on the moon while never being told again
There is no way they would have killed the boss without T1 ... they couldn't even hold aggro off the healer. This one is definitly not on T1. This is one of the more dangerous bosses during leveling. Should have been explained way better and more in depth, especially in hardcore.
When he says put in the time he means watching videos about the bosses before. People shouldn’t have to give a thorough explanation of every mechanic, the first time you see the boss shouldn’t be when you’re tanking it
that's true saying saying learning about threath an everything else as a first time player and a lvl 50 is crazy, there's ppl that have been playing this game for years and don't know how threat works
The thing is, he is putting effort only within the boundary of what he knows. He has made little effort in learning concepts outside said boundary, e.g. threat, this is evident in all the times in dungeons where he loses aggro on packs. It took him till lvl ~40 to switch stances. It seems the only times he will learn outside his boundary is when he faces consequences.
Btw I have to say, he keeps saying that no one told him about the threat meter add on but in his last vid yesterday on the official tyler1 channel Yamdef /Yamato clearly tells him to get the same add on mentioned and he also responds asking what add on is that. The Video : TYLER1: WE TRIED TO DUNGEON WITH EMILYA AGAIN... Time 45:42
@@dtreezyyeah but he’s still a moron for disregarding that and then when he says “how could you say I’m not trying to learn” when he obviously doesn’t look up any information on any dungeons. That’s fine if he doesn’t want to but he can’t cry about someone saying he isn’t trying to be prepared and Isn’t trying to learn when all it takes is one google search. I like Tyler but he’s acting like a child here.
@@dtreezy Can you specify a time, please? Because I can't find what you're referring to, I found him repeating that no one told him about the add-on until after the two teammates died, and he said this like 3 times. But like I stated, he clearly was told about it by yamato before the two players died.
learning WoW in hardcore mode is pretty hard, even if you know a lot of stuff from other games that are similar, like CC-types. Even "easy" games got a lot of stuff to them that you usually learn over years and the worst consequence is that you got to corpse-run, learning this on the fly while one mistake can cost you your character is pretty harsh :D respect for doing it, and respect for learning what you didnt understand, it shows respect to the people that died in the run :D that the sunder armor hit the one fraction of a second before the deep slumber goes off is unlucky as fuck tho man xd missplay, yes, but cursed RNG as well if you dont have DBM, which shows you when a mob will use a spell and its CD, its worth installing in your level I think. And the taunt in the moment he deep slumber again xD holy shit you and your party were cursed that day :D:D:D
If soda was a better leader . He will brought t1 to a call and explaned whats when wrong and what they do wrong. No just said what he said, you are the leader no other guild member.
No offense to tyle but hes not trying that hard to learn, it would have taken like 30 seconds to watch a video on mechanics in sunken temple and he would have a veterans understanding of the dungeon.
Well to be fair if you haven’t seen a boss fight in your life and it’s on hardcore I would atleast watch a video of how to tank that boss fight. The stacks are really high by a miss play. You need to treat every encounter at this point like it’s your own life and others if you die.
Crazy how the guy who regularly tells people to kill themselves unironically is almost brought to tears because someone implied he didn’t put in enough effort.
@@Dolo888 I mean, if you have a trade that you value a lot as in Tyler working hard at whatever he does like reaching 1900 in chess or being a top league player why would he not find that offensive?
@ because he regularly says way worse things to people wishing them cancer and death so you’d expect him to have a thicker skin. It’s like how you’d expect a boxer to be able to take a punch but instead of a punch it was just a flick and that flick made him cry. Remember when he said reckfuls friends didn’t try to help him after he passed. The same thing he’s crying about but a real life issue and way worse. Just remember you haven't died yet, and all these dudes running their mouths died thousands of times on all of these bosses without consequences. It's not your fault that the person running the dungeon should have been much more specific, and his miss pull caused those deaths. For all the idiots out here screaming about add-ons, they are literally thousands of them, and tbh a PowerPoint does very little to teach a person what they need for said role or just in game in general. There are thousands of add-ons, and many of them are broken or hardly tell a person how to use them or even what they are used for.
They literally get a full link document with the addons they should have, with links to each addon... Im not entierly disagreeing with you but "there are thousands of addons, most of them broken bla bla" is a lame excuse in this case... seeing as they literally get a link-for-link per each addon needed...
@purreb5518 when's the last time a person you know has paid attention to a power point? You literally need to sit people down teach/tell them what to do powerpoints don't do anything to help the situation. Leaders in the roles should have helped square people away rather than oh yeah click a link probably. A lot of these guys have been playing for over 20 years and it's no excuse to assume someone new to the game should do hundreds of hours of research before logging in. More than half of those add-ons do need to be set up or altered as well. Many are broken. Once again this is veteran wow players failing these new players and pretending like it's no big deal and they are shocked all these new players are dying? When I played this game 20 plus years ago like those wow veterans i died in almost every dungeon or raid. I learned from those deaths with little to be lost. This isnt thencase for what they are doing in hard-core. The veteran wow players are failing the non wow content creators.
Wait till you start raiding T1. People are gonna call you bad at the game for not researching boss fights prior to going in there. and people will say that is your own fault. Wow players are next level. Non hardcore raiding is exactly the same, Tank didn't research the fights prior to coming in here? Replaced, and talked shit on. Shit on in general untill you do. Wow players expectations and back seat gaming is unique. and toxic AF
He's putting in a lot of effort, but he's just putting in effort in his own way,and unfortunately that means that he waits for something bad to happen before you realizes how important certain mechanics and systems are, which is a real tough way to play hardcore. He said he downloaded a threat meter now so we'll see how things go.
Bro ur skill with a warrior on HC wow playing for the first time is amazing me, these nerds are just delusional, ur doing great, one step at a time. ive played wow a long time and still learn new things so thats whats up
No one can teach him anything. Show me one clip that he takes constructive criticism or advice. The fact he’s arguing now is the best example. Dude leads with his mouth, not his brain. No one wants to argue with someone just to give them good advice.
You clearly haven’t watched when he played with Pshero. He was very open to advice during that. He was also very open to advice when he was getting his whirlwind axe. You’re just wrong.
Tyler is 40-45% at fault here because he always ignores people trying to teach him tips and knowledge about the game. There was even a time when he straight up hard cussed on a guy who was trying to help him understand what should and could have been done on the Emilya incident. Sure, it was a good thing for Emilya's career that it happened because she has now a lot more viewers, but the dude was just trying to explain to him and give him tips. Why are you getting mad all of a sudden? Like why are your feelings so sensitive? If he was laughing at you or disrespecting you I would've understood Tyler's actions.
To be fair - sardaco was the guy he cussed out and the way sardaco came into that call and started talking I would have cussed him out to. If he wanted to help there were better times and better ways to bring it up productively, but idk what he expected when he came in hot with condescending tone and insults. Just give it a day and reach out offering to do a session to help
You don't just give people unsolicited advice and expect them to accept it, then get mad when they don't. That's like one of the most basic dynamics of human interactions. You don't go to the gym and go up to every single person with poor form to tell them how they could do better.
@@audioostrich Even in this video, I haven't heard anything bad from Soda, only constructive criticism. But he just cusses left and right. The guy is trying to help him understand the game for f sake. He needs to take a chill pill, even some of his viewers that are too toxic in his chat needs some.
You are talking about Sordacco. Maybe he had the right intentions, but he executed it poorly, to indirectly demean Tyler or maybe he is that dense. Who knows. But someone with genuine intentions, makes a call in personal after the streaming is done. Because to most people, it seemed like Sordacco was stroking his own ego by repeating everything Tyler already knew about Infront of everyone.
@@Waduuheck I did not know that he just pop out of nowhere and started giving advices, so I understand that point coz the clip I watched did not include that. Though his response was a bit too much, cussing a person really hard for that, he didn't deserve that. If someone in the public randomly stops you in the direction you are going, telling you that the bridge there just destroyed or something, or any advice or suggestion from a random person in any situation, you have to know if they mean well first. Or if you don't have any time to listen to them just say, "Hey man/ma'am, idk who you are, but right now I don't have time to listen to you coz I am a bit busy, excuse me". A bit rude but it's still within reason. That's the real basic human interaction is in real life. You don't pop off to every random person trying to talk to you. Handle it like a man. If you cuss on a man in real life just because he suddenly stopped, gave you some advices, you might find yourself in a really bad place one day.
they have a lvl 50 dps, and the boss was red. lion agro'd the boss when nobody was ready, so obviously tyler 1 panicked as would many. there was things that tyler could had done better, but some how any situation, soda only blames tyler 1 every chance he gets. He might be t'1s biggest hater
I mean soda every time says its not tylers fault cause he is new to the game. and talks about it being other peoples fault in party too. but also says the things tyler does wrong. He isn't even a tyler hater.
@@dtreezy I genuinely with my whole heart do not think soda cares at all. Yes tyler is a big streamer but he is not the only streamer or even the only big streamer so saying he is 60% is wild.
This is such a weird excuse from T1 If he actually tried, he would have looked at videos. He would have looked at guides. He would would have read shit. This version of the game has been solved. Its been out for 20 years, there is no excuse for him besides him getting carried by people who actually know what he is doing? He also has been told about threat meter, multiple times, even by soda multiple times. If I remember right the threat meter addon was even required. So for him to not have it and then cry that soda is being mean to him is crazy.
You dont have to be so defensive. As a new tank you will kill people. Tanks have more responsibility than dps. Maybe it is better content but a new player shouldn’t tank in hardcore.
i agree with tyler he is putting in effort and the thing is: if you took a random classic wow player who played the game for 15 years, they would fuck up just as bad because classic wow players are terrible. anyone with experience in the game knows you have to spell it out completely and i am baffled nobody called for tyler to stop dpsing or explained to him in fulll detail even if it is ridiculous when he should or should not be attacking. tyler is bad at the game yes, but these deaths are on whoever was leading the group and went in with frankly insufficient explanation
“Not taking the time to figure out” is definitely true if you’re 50 and never heard of a threat meter. Go look up addons, look at experienced players streams, ask them questions on what to do and why. This is hardcore, not baby’s first adventure game, as evidenced by constant death before the real dungeons begin. That said, they wouldn’t have killed it because they didn’t have pets that can actually aggro a 55 boss.
Maybe because he has put his time into leveling to 50. Tyler also has a daughter and a partner you think he looks at wow gameplay on his free time. Piss off mate pretty sure you dont work on your free time
@@mef3376dude it takes 5 minutes to watch a quick guide. It’s not league where you have a shitty game and you lose 45 minutes. People are losing 50+ hours when they die. If he’s going to tank, he can watch a 60 second boss guide. It’s really not a big ask. Chill.
Never fight anything more than 3 levels higher than you. This is something that tyler1 should know by now and if he doesn’t it’s a failure on those who are responsible for teaching him the game while allowing him to be responsible for others as a warrior. Restedxp has turned out to be inferior to zygor for classic despite the shills who push it. I have used zygor several times for era levelling and at no time did it tell me to do quests where mobs where more than 2 levels higher than me. Rested? Tells me to kill level 37 frostmaw at 31. On every class. Click the little button to skip until later? Sure. At 33 it tells you to do it again. That’s still 4 levels higher which only a hunter is going to do assuming the pet is also 33, doesn’t have too many growls resisted and the hunter doesn’t straight miss all their wing clips because their weapon skill isn’t up enough. I have watched horde streamers doing the survival version of tested and it sends them to the barrens at level 10. Barrens is a 12-20 zone for hunters and a 14-20 zone realistically for anyone else. This is why so many keep dying before 20. Not only are they being sent there too early and are constantly fighting mobs higher than them, they end up with level 20 quests at 17 because they didn’t go do brill and sepulcher quests to get them to 14 easily and faster first.
Im 100% on Tylers side here. He is putting in the time, he is trying to do everything he can. Fuck ups like this happen when you dont know whats coming.
Tyler is correct as a new player as well I understand him. none of you, including me started at hardcore and is better tham him. If you're at softcore you would die try again and eventually learn, it's a lot different. I started at SOD and still struggle with some stuff.
The thing about wow is that you don't learn it by playing, you learn it before playing, even on retail when you are raiding mythic you are expected to know the enconuter before doing it, not learn it at the raid time ruining the experience to the others that studied that fight.
8:10 tyler is right, though he's playing so much better than a lot of people (that has played wow the past 20years LOL). People are so fucking bad in classic. Considering this is his literal first time ever, he's playing excellent. If you had a person with above 100IQ in his party, stuff like this wouldn't happen. People ALWAYS fail to communicate. Like, just tell tyler what buttons to hit, how is it so hard? No instead we all panic like we haven't played this game 10000000hours before, and then soda says it's his fault?? LOL
Tyler isn't playing excellent, he's playing pretty decently, he has multiple pocket healers, don't overstate how he's playing or he wont learn. The other people explained what to do awfully, and if he gets explanations like that in the future, he will fail. Everything AFTER the explanation was Tylers fault and even he admitted that "I shouldnt have pumped all my cooldowns immediately that was my fault". If T1 himself can admit when he's wrong why do you meatriders not?
@@HuwJ8rd0n3 So tyler is not good enough to play excellent, but he is good enough to know he did wrong. Hmm. Interesting how you are trying to have it both ways. Only when it suits you, ofc. If I was in that group, nobody would've died. That's all I'm gonna say. I don't know how these wow vets let so many perish.
is not tyler fault, is the group that is not craft to have a dps warrior, they should have rogues, ferals or shamans and a healer, that way all tyler have to do is buffing
'Threat drop is a mechanic you can't ignore' Yeah you can, just be higher level. Classic WoW is not hard, literally all of this discussion would be nullified if they were higher level.
Disgusting to say he isn't putting in time and effort when he has nearly 200+ hours played on this character and plays every single day in a gamemode where you have zero room to fuck up
Just because he's put in 200+ hours doesn't mean he's correctly learned what he needs to learn. He knows nothing about threat or threat management. That's a problem. He's playing a warrior, which is a tank, and he knows nothing about tank mechanics. That's a problem Tyler could have solved. He's not expected to solve it, he's new, but he could.
He doesn't do any research tho, he wants to brute force the knowledge by learning by doing. He can watch one wow classic warrior tank guide and get all the info he needs, but he doesn't. He has been tanking with 2H in battle stance and not even doing insta demo shout and thunder clap, spamming cleave on single targets instead of heroic strike, which does a lot more threat.
I was watching a clip of somebody asking Tyler1 to watch a video to learn a concept and he refused. He said I'm either going to learn it in game or I'm never going to learn it. This is after him refusing to install guild mandatory addons then installing them after he died. He is putting a lot of effort in time but he is not putting in a lot of effort to learn concepts until there is a consequence for not knowing.
@@TraxisOnTheLines warriors can DPS too.. It was only off the encouragement of other guildmates that tanking even entered Tyler's realm of possibilities. Tanking is, pretty objectively, the hardest role in classic WoW, let alone for hardcore and anyone entering a group with him for a dungeon should acknowledge the fragility of the situation. WoW is a very intricate game to pick up and it's clear Tyler is doing his diligence and studying at the very least. While i see where youre coming from, I still think it's ignorant and out-of-line for Soda to say that Tyler isn't putting in the time and effort
@@JeremySteinWolfe98 I feel like healers would disagree, as they manage their mana with the 5 second rule, use downranked abilities, and steal threat immediately, while also having directly wrong plays (shielding warriors and bears hurts them). Tanking is not hard, it's entirely knowledge based, and Tyler just doesn't want to learn the knowledge out of game. If it's not presented in game for him to experience, he doesn't care. This is an issue when the game is 20 years old and needs addons to see certain things, and then proper understanding of those addons to set them up correctly. He needs to look up a guide or get some amount of help and he refuses, and that's entirely on him for refusing to be the best player he could be.
The game wasn’t made for hardcore 20 years ago. Yes to an extent you can get lucky and live like T1 while leveling, but if you step foot into a raid at 60 without add ons you’re griefing the 39 other people in the raid and will most certainly die.
Addons aren't required for the normal game, when you're playing hardcore and every little element matters you're suddenly playing the sweatiest version where yes you need addons to help unless you have immense knowledge.

... so watch a video tutorial first. That would be "taking the time to understand".
Hindsight Andy
When he says put in the time he means watching videos about the bosses before. People shouldn’t have to give a thorough explanation of every mechanic, the first time you see the boss shouldn’t be when you’re tanking it
having just rewatched the animatrix, this is the first video i click on
10 secs into the video: we live in the matrix
me: yes we fucking do.
that's true saying saying learning about threath an everything else as a first time player and a lvl 50 is crazy, there's ppl that have been playing this game for years and don't know how threat works
Challenge Soda to a boxing match. Let's see who trains harder.
Which is completely normal for a new player, wanting to experience the game for the first time without min maxing everything
nobody is allowing him to experience the game by himself
@@sobliss5200 Yeah i agree with both you and OP. A better explanation would have avoided that shitshow
bruh how much do you want him to learn in this amount of time???????
@@ludnqka hes literally learning super fucking slow and literally avoiding keybindings for 50 levels on purpose
Time 45:42
Sardaco also dared to suggest he gets a threat meter and T1 just screamed at him. So…
He said no one mentioned threat meter until yamato said it. Which is true
@@dtreezy Sardaco said it like a week ago bro
He also said that after someone told him about it, he started using it and that he did a dungeon with it the day after.
How can someone sound like a condescending WoWdad in 2024? This is weird.
T1 doesn’t actually have these morals he’s talking only applies them to others so he can feel superior he has a little man complex.

Don't feel bad literally 75%of ppl in hc don't make it st ever like they suck you doing fine
The chat malding about soda everytime is so pathetic lmao, talk about parasocial viewers

He said he downloaded a threat meter now so we'll see how things go.

what is it with rich LOL streamers with 5 dollar mics?
Soda is well aware but unwilling to outwardly state that Tyler1 is at lest 60% of the content engagement for their entire guild right now.
@@dtreezy I genuinely with my whole heart do not think soda cares at all. Yes tyler is a big streamer but he is not the only streamer or even the only big streamer so saying he is 60% is wild.
This is such a weird excuse from T1
If he actually tried, he would have looked at videos.
Toxic wow players vs toxic lol players! Love the content
You dont have to be so defensive. As a new tank you will kill people. Tanks have more responsibility than dps. Maybe it is better content but a new player shouldn’t tank in hardcore.
If you think you are putting in effort trying to learn, you are spending your time poorly 😂
he aint wrong tho
i agree with tyler he is putting in effort and the thing is: if you took a random classic wow player who played the game for 15 years, they would fuck up just as bad because classic wow players are terrible. anyone with experience in the game knows you have to spell it out completely and i am baffled nobody called for tyler to stop dpsing or explained to him in fulll detail even if it is ridiculous when he should or should not be attacking. tyler is bad at the game yes, but these deaths are on whoever was leading the group and went in with frankly insufficient explanation
watch a video u have 0 to not know whats going on he said he puts 50% more then anyone do do 100% then
“Not taking the time to figure out” is definitely true if you’re 50 and never heard of a threat meter.
Is it just me or is this sodapoppin dude kind of a jerk?
Im 100% on Tylers side here. He is putting in the time, he is trying to do everything he can. Fuck ups like this happen when you dont know whats coming.
As a new player you also have a responsibility to ask what the fk things mean when you clearly don’t know.
Tyler is correct as a new player as well I understand him.
none of you, including me started at hardcore and is better tham him.
If you're at softcore you would die try again and eventually learn, it's a lot different.
I started at SOD and still struggle with some stuff.
T1 calm down lol. Hes giving you constructive criticism. And what he meant by you not prepping. Just watching a video on YT .. geeez lmao
Factsssss
The thing about wow is that you don't learn it by playing, you learn it before playing, even on retail when you are raiding mythic you are expected to know the enconuter before doing it, not learn it at the raid time ruining the experience to the others that studied that fight.
Completely untrue for classic wow.
8:10 tyler is right, though
he's playing so much better than a lot of people (that has played wow the past 20years LOL).
Dog came to give Soda emotional support cuz he taking a risk critiquing Big T 😆
Reality check. If Tyler weren’t a streamer bringing people to WoW, he’d be g kicked. Soda is simping for that same reason.
My black African broda, the chat is 10s late
Fix it next time boss
is not tyler fault, is the group that is not craft to have a dps warrior, they should have rogues, ferals or shamans and a healer, that way all tyler have to do is buffing
'Threat drop is a mechanic you can't ignore' Yeah you can, just be higher level. Classic WoW is not hard, literally all of this discussion would be nullified if they were higher level.
yea threat acts 100% different when your lvls are off
Disgusting to say he isn't putting in time and effort when he has nearly 200+ hours played on this character and plays every single day in a gamemode where you have zero room to fuck up
Just because he's put in 200+ hours doesn't mean he's correctly learned what he needs to learn.
Watching a react to a react is friggin stupid. Not sure why i even clicked.
But you did. Wild.
@Tyler1Clips your channel sucks. 😀
Well in this case he is watching it because of the feedback from Soda, its not a random react watch
What does that say about your own stupidity?
Not sure why u even commented either cus no one gives a shit
cant believe how cringe it is that every thing that goes wrong is just "get an addon"
it's a 20 year old game, it needs addon for many things and that's fine
The game wasn’t made for hardcore 20 years ago. Yes to an extent you can get lucky and live like T1 while leveling, but if you step foot into a raid at 60 without add ons you’re griefing the 39 other people in the raid and will most certainly die.
this game was not made to be played on one life
Addons aren't required for the normal game, when you're playing hardcore and every little element matters you're suddenly playing the sweatiest version where yes you need addons to help unless you have immense knowledge.
I mean, there are only two options: get an addon or know what you are doing. T1 is doing neither so people dying is expected.
