I love thats she promotes and speaks about other brands even though she has her own line. Due to her YesStyle haul video I have finally purchased some Korean brands and are loving them.
One thing to note about the SOME BY MI Miracle Serum is that it doesn’t have true Salicylic acid in it, it has Wintergreen Leaf Extract, which is kinda like a form of SA, and that is what gives it the BHA quality.
Korean skincare is the best on my skin, because Korea has soooooo many rules in dosage and ingredients. I have a reactive and sensitive skin, and using Korean skincare really helps me having a healthy and happy skin. 🙏
yess me too. I'm glad I invest my money for that serum even it's a bit pricier for a student like me but it does make the difference. and I think that's the best investment I've ever made 😊
I was really late hopping on the skincare train...primarily due to perception of cost and intimidation of all the steps involved! Being of Asian descent with fair skin it made sense to try Korean products and I am SO glad I did. Korean products are proof positive that you don’t have to spend that much money on a single product to get results. My favourite luxe Korean brand is Sulwhasoo, but I love Son&Park, NeoGen, Mizon, COSRX, Missha, Pyunkang Yul...there’s always so much more to try and now I cant go without my steps - my skin is transformed, and I’m not even joking.
I recently started using CosRX Snail 92 after my Retin A. On my lower face and along my jawline and on the front of my neck I add Good Cera. That Good Cera is a dream. It has really toned down the redness in my skin. There is just something about Snail Mucin that my skin really digs. Super hydrating.
My skin doesn't tolerate any exfoliating except from PHA, it seems. Even the PC BHA liquid burns. And something strong, like the DE TLC Framboos, causes me to have tons of little red bumps.
Thank you for sharing, love that you included info for eye sensitivity and the fragrance. Great routine for colder weather around the corner. And I voted today too! Thank You!

The South Korean skincare doesn't need to incorporate retinol because they wear sunscreen diligently. As the sun is the prime source of why we age, it makes sense to slap the stuff on, 😉 I just wish I was 20 with this knowledge and not closer to 60, ☹ I love the South Korean skincare range, I love to layer my varied essences between my serums to provide me with extra hydration - which I definitely need. That lip balm looks lovely, I'll definitely be getting a few of those. 💗💗
No, it's actually because the Korean philosophy on skincare involves being gentle to the skin and not using harsh ingredients. They consider retinoids too harsh because of how it can dry out the skin, cause irritation, and cause purging. It just has a bad reputation in Korea. Same reason why you don't see intense chemical peel products or benzoyl peroxide products in K-beauty.
@@hallyuniverse I have no idea how the scientists of South Korea view retinols or the reasons why they don't incorporate them into their routines. My comment merely emphasises how beautiful and wrinkle free their skin is, which is due to them using sunscreen every single day from an early age. Therefore, the need for and retinols is actually removed. The sun being the primary cause of aging.
@@chrissymoss514 Retinols are also useful for acne and hyperpigmentation, which a lot of Koreans experience. Asian beauty loves anti-aging ingredients, retinol just has a bad rep in Korea and it's not used often.

Susan. Honest question. I have dry skin, no pimples ever. Yet i get pimples from most cleansers available in my country. I wear sunscreen every day and it csuses no pimples, yet i know its bad not to cleanse. What do i do?
check if your cleanser is leaving your skin too dry or stripped, is it not cleansing well enough, is it clogging your pores, are you rinising it off correctly
if you are using a chemical exfoliating toner you can use it after or before essence. if you are using a chemical exfoliating serum, use it after your essence

Susan !! This was an incredible video! Thank you for sharing and talking about all the benefits in the products! I did want to ask, that BHA, AHA and PHA product, is it safe while you’re breastfeeding? I know retinoids/ retinol is not safe, but I wasn’t sure if that one was.

@@doesntmatter6854go with the ordinary if you have pores, texture, or hyperpigmentation. use the serum if you have pores, congestion, and texture. the some by mi does have many essential oils. I presonally would go with the ordinary. use it 2-3 times a week at night. and don't forget spf in the morning!
Using both on your skin can be very harsh. Best to use one or the other. You can switch it day to day. So if you use aha serum one night, the next night you use the retinol. But If you are just starting off retinol, start using a low dosage and putting it on it once a week. Then twice a week and then once your skin can handle it, slowly increase the number of days you put it on your skin. Again, everyone's skin is different. I'm not a professional, but it's what I've learned from research.
I think patch test your skin and see how it works. Every skin type and tolerance level is different. I would not recommend exfoliating toners everyday initially if you are starting to use them. I hope it helps. If you are new to skincare and Kbeauty I would like to welcome you to my channel. 👍😊
2x a day exfoliation might lead to skin irritation or skin damage. Always try to patch test and build up tolerance with skincare. I would recommend to try exfoliation 2 times a week to start with and gradually build up to alternate day if needed. (less concentration if doing alternate day). Also start with about less than 5% concentration initially. I hope it helps. If you are new to skincare I would recommend to watch more videos of basic skincare on my channel. 👍😊
@@beautyfable chemical exfoliation is something that you can't really build up a tolerance to like retinol. every other day meaning 4 times a week would be way too much and you will have a high risk of getting overexofliaton and a compromised skin barrier. 2-3 times a week is more than enough for any skin type, skin concern, and skin problems.
@@ansleychan3490 Well it depends on skin type and skin tolerance . I started with once a week initially. And I can easily do every alternate day (only am or pm that day only) after gradual increase and I am not going increase further. One can use gentler exfoliants and lower concentrations to build up the tolerance. My skin does tolerate it now. I have no irritation or skin damage. For real view you can see my skincare videos like 10-step routine and see my skin unfiltered. I hope it helps. Thanks👍😊

every day is too much. chemical exfoliating too much can lead to a compromised skin barrier. use it 2-3 times a week at night and use SPF
Is it harmful to use the "exfoliant" serum 2x a day? Or is this a 2× week type of thing? Newbie to chemical exfoliants 🙈🙈
No! two times a week is more than enough.
Thanks👍😊
@@beautyfable I've watched a few of your videos. are you a licensed expert like an estheitician or formulator or are you just someone that is passionate about skincare and sharing info on youtube?
