Part 2 of The Crown of the Mundane and Divine mission. This one has a VERY different tone from the first part. Ruan Mei has made us her assistant and is asking us to take care of some life forms she has sealed in the space station, and we can't tell Herta or Screwllum about it. If you also have a fear of the game Alien: Isolation... I'm sorry ahead of time.

The original Skaracabaz was known as the "Starcrusher" due to its habit of showing up to solar systems and "improving" the stars in them (By replacing them with more bugs)
Needless to say, we are very fortunate that Ruan Mei's clone was only a baby. The Propagation is absolutely terrifying, even more so the more you learn about THEM.

I would recommend to continue the orange quest. Its a follow up quest of the one you just did and has around the same length but it kinda builds on the previous quest and could result in some confusion later on

Truly the Ruan Mei experience. She first touches you without permission, then feeds you some Anti-Truth Serum and lies about there being an Antidote, made you fight a clone of an Emanator, and finally slowly erase your memories about what she did. Truly a sophisticated woman

I actually recommend Topaz’s quests. It’s referenced in the next arc, so unless you’re ok with it being spoiled, I would do it before Penacony

This Trailblazer Continuance Mission is one of my favorites because I am really intrigued by the Genius Society and also the introduction of Dr Ratio. Once we go back to meet them again, I wish there will be more Screwllum and a model for Stephen Lloyd.

Regarding how Ruan Mei can clone an Emanator is tied to how unique Tazzyroth is, other Aeon follower become one by following their aspiration, principle, or way of life while Tazzyroth is tied to race and exclusively bug. This meant bug regardless of their origin has a chance to become emanator.

Watching Alien as a child made me develop an all too irrational fear of aliens and invasions. I couldn’t even handle the aliens invading in Sims as a kid. When I tell you this quest took me back to those memories…💀

Also, it might be wise to do Future Market(Belobog Quest), before getting into Penacony because it introduces one of the most important factions and a story relevant character that will be in Penacony

I did this quest recently and thankfully i had jingliu to freeze the bugs before they catched me, saved me a few jumpscares. (If you go back, activate huohuo' enhancement and they'll become horror struck).

If you want to make the most effective use of Huohuo, position her in the corner, not in the middle. You'll heal more effectively that way.

Fun Fact, HSR has a hidden Aggro system where depending on the path of you are using you are more likely to be targetted by enemies, Destruction/Preservation having the highest aggro and Eruidition/Hunt having the lowest. For some reason, Tingyun, is somehow an exception, despite being a Harmony character, she gets unusually high target rate like a Destruction character, a popular theory is that because she was secretly Phantylia, an Emanator of Nanook The Destruction, she gets the destruction aggro rate.
This is a myth. Not real. Just like "chests respawn", something people spread online.

Starcrusher Swarm king was the biggest difficulty spike I faced when I returned to this game almost an year later. Holy shit, that bug was insanity and Hoyo didn't stop cooking after that
Gotta give props; literally every other person I've seen fight the Swarm King would get bodied and reassign their team, meanwhile here you are tanking it on the first go with zero breakers. Truly worthy of the lance.
Ruan Mei attempting to recreate an Emanator of Propagation already sounds pretty bad... but in reality it might actually be a lot worse. You probably don't know much about the Swarm Disaster beyond its name and the implications behind it, to put it simply, it was a nightmarish event that consumed and destroyed countless worlds with such haste that it would make Nanook blush. If I had to compare the Swarm's viciousness to anything, it would be akin to... maybe the Flood from Halo.
On the topic of the "Gray Bean Pastes" and "Molten Cheese Tarts"... yeah I got nothing. It's just a sad time all around. I recommend you *don't* read Ruan Mei's Lab Logs (lore found within the Seclusion Zone) if you don't wanna get more sad. Gotta hand it to Herta though. You can hate her all you want, but at least she isn't dishonest.
Okay that's enough of that, time for some more boring gameplay tips!
Trailblazer's Skill taunt is actually a debuff! This means that with enough Effect RES, the target can ignore the taunt and not lock on to TB.
When a bug explodes, the AoE blast will inflict a debuff on all targets that make them take more DMG. This is stackable, which will be helpful when fighting the Swarm King for Trace materials.
The "quantum" bugs will target Quantum-entangled allies.
The Swarm King BGM is titled "Aberrant Receptacle".
Bro hasn't upgraded his equilibrium level to where this boss is actually painful to fight. This is arguably one of the harder echoes. Also Huohuo makes the fight a lot easier thanks to her constant debuff dispells.

I need to agree with the comment requesting the Topaz companion quest (and possibly the Ratio one as well) before going to Penacony.
The taunt is actually a debuff so enemies have a chance to resist it.
How big the chance depends on how much effect hit rate you have.
I disassociated myself with Ruan Mei the first time I was playing because I ran out of jades so it wouldn't hurt while playing the quest lmao
You gotta play thought the critter pick quest and then at the end you’ll get a trashcan cat thingy
...It was a good time to be a Fu Xuan colleague and to be able to "always see it coming". (Immunity to ambush being her exploration technique.)
Given that in retrospect it's fairly clear Ruan Mei isn't capable of keeping secrets from either Herta or Screwllum and they're both humouring her by going along with the pretense, I've become curious what's protecting the space station that we still haven't a clue about.
That was the part one of the Divine and Mundane, I know you are probably going back to the main story now, but I will say, I can't wait for you to do the Mundane Troubles!

Funfact in this quest we came to know that MC can canonically change paths on their own as they need you will se TB with a bat cause they wants to protect themselves but generally when with other crew present they are Preservation.
So yes they change path according to the situation

Ruan Mei is actually scary. She was not even released back then but when Hoyoverse released her teaser story trailer, I then knew that she was a mad scientist. Her obsession with studying and experimenting life itself is scary but not at first glance. It was then scary when she mentioned that she wanted to become an Aeon. Every literature I come across where a person is obsessed with becoming a God is def. Treading on the path of becoming a villain and Ruan Mei is no exception. She is obsessed with life because she wants to transform life into something more. Something that transcends mere living into something incomprehensible which is not the order of things. Unlike Herta who’s obsessed with finding the truth abt the universe and Aeon, her obsession is only because of a fascination and the craving for truth and understanding of the universe, Ruan Mei however, craves not the truth and understanding but something far greater which caused her to synthesize an Emanator of Propagation which is UTTERLY NIGHTMARE (The Aeons even worked together just to stop Tazzyronth because the mere presence of him brings nightmare and death around the galaxy). The fact that she is willing to go lengths for this is mad. Which is why i am torn between liking her because she is a mad scientist done well in game or not liking her because she is actually a mad scientist.
She really needs help. That woman will distroy the Universe For Sience! She is a fantastic Unit but She is scary too

I want to note that Taunt in this game is an effect you apply to the enemy, and you can fail to apply it. (or the enemy can spawn in after you do it) That's why that one enemy attacked someone else than FireMC.
And just further note, 100% base chance isn't a guarantee, but explaining the relation of base chance, effect hit rate and effect res would be a tad complicated.

Having said that hahaha... Even if you don't do the second part of this quest now I really recommend doing it before going to the next world. It will give you more context for some details of the story.
