- The new Gurkha recruits in Catterick have begun their first look at British culture since arriving in the UK eight weeks ago. Unlike other new recruits into the British Army, as well as learning how to do drill, iron their uniform and fire a gun, the new Gurkha soldiers must also learn about the British way of life. This includes going out to eat, ordering fast food, and of course tasting their first ever burger from McDonalds.

Mcdonalds has never seen so many shirts and ties
hahahahahaha
Ha ha ha, nice one piper.
piper.spirit and back pack too 😜😆
Lol
Brilliant!
these mcdonald staff have no idea they are facing the most dangerous military group in the world.
Not yet they aren't, they're only recruits.
luckily the Macdonald stuffs did not mess with them, if not the Mac staffs would have been shacked by the gurkhas really hard.
green house They are not as dangerous as the macdonalds corporation.
if i am the order taker .. i won't hesitate to ask to take photo of these living legends .. it would be an honor ..
Most dangerous military group in the world? Must be joking.
"We are fast learners". Yes they are. Whether it be ordering fast food or killing Taliban with a kukri.
or a machine gun tripod...
Afghan are the most hard and brave nation of the world you remember england then russia now nato and usa.these rental ghurka murka are noting for afghans.

Khukuri *
In Nepal it is called Khukuri but foreign people call it Kukri
They look so sweet and harmless, like studious sixth formers from a top private school in Asia..yet they're some of the most fearsome and respected soldiers in the world. Just goes to show being polite and well-groomed doesn't preclude one from being completely badass.
I'm joining the RM soon - it would be an honour to work alongside these lads
My brothers(Gurkhas) aren’t harmless at all . They are just trained very harshly and they are from nepal which situated at very high altitude and due to that they are capable of having great indurance at the low altitudes of Britain. Love from Nepal .
They are the most loyal people to the British ever
Sugarnips IV Aww... * Sad Australian slinks off into the corner.
To the British crown I wud day and no doubt we are .we love the queen
@@joemartin3681 Dont worry, We English hold high respect to anyone who holds the crown and queen as their head of state. Even if we hold no power in their borders, I'd like to think they would still be loyal to her.
British people are the luckiest one they have gurkhas to protect and loving monarch in the country. But we from Nepal we lost monarchy. Long live the queen. Love from Nepal
unknown me ,, ea our kings, queen and brave soliders were killed by guile..................by british snd indian sorry but need to say
I fucking love these guys.
Turi Caederynmab we r warriors mate. One of a kind.
not going to steal your comment as I was going to say the exact same mate. quality lads!
"The food is quite good " "it's an interesting flavour" - Even in McDonalds their politeness and manners is boundless.
The food IS awful, but they still will remain polite and compliment the staff and the food.
Such gentlemen, despite also being one of the most vicious and effective fighting forces around the world.
.98 - looks like he is trying to not vomit, but being polite he manages to say that it is delicious.
actually no. Now a days burgers are there in Nepal too just not maccas.
True...Coz I am gorkhali. .I know how mac d taste. .....only french fries is okay..okay........the real Nepalese village diet is very healthy. .organic. .and simple...most popular meals supper and dinner consists of similar like Indians..like rice..chapati. .dal and curry but we have specific vegetbles ..vegetables that grows in hilly regions. ...and the rest lunch ...sometimes...boiled potatoes with salt and specific variety of pungent chillies..called dalle khorsani famous....one can eat more than 20 to 30 boiled potatoes at a time and maize that is fried in an oven ..modern days called popcorn but it is harder than a pop corn....and other food like flour cooked mixing with water..and salt, which African eats now.....but lifestyle have changed now....people don't eat this type of typical village food but still in village we like and we do.....or else eating Mac D and KFC will not give you a real strength of himalayan gorkha..it is coz of our diet and hardship lifestyle that made us robust....when you meet Nepali or Gorkhali next time don't forget to ask...if they want to eat.'Dalle khorsani'...meaning red round pungent chillies of hills and 'gundruk'..a traditionally soupy curry..whereever we go we will carry it.....they die for it and cry in joy.......jai Gorkha....
nicole Rai well explained didi ..
yea that image of 'trying to eat the food I've never had before try not puke and wait till I can say something after eating this strange alien food.
There ain't no Mcdonalds in Nepal. Nepal local restaurants have good burgers. Mcdonalds serves shitty burgers.
If any of you boys read this, thank you for your service to my country and yours, true warriors who carry themselves with respect.
You could say that they're lovin it
Classic
+Primarch Alpharius Yes thats why the made the jokes 3 times in the video, im glad you noticed. *face palm*
If they were told that it contain beef 🍖 all of the staff would killed by them.
We dont eat cow meat 😣
Hope they eat chicken burger 🍔☺️
@@zeroxgaming5007 You know... not all of them care about that.
We nepali dont eat beef 🍖 who ever eat are count as enemy of the nation according to our constitution. And they should be jailed for 20 years, and Rs.30,000 fine according to the law of Nepal most of neplease dont eat cow few will eat if found jailed for sure, most of gorkhas dont eat beef reason - they are nepali people born in nepal growup in nepal and then join british army, so they grow up worshipping cow as mother so they wont eat mother. Few of them will eat and even muslim from Nepal will not eat cow.
imagine somebody tried to pick a fight with them while in there... LOL
They would be surprised and would atempt to calmly talk through the situation.

Respect. These men are absolute gentlemen and excellent soldiers.
Humble people with good heart. Warriors that nobody want to fight against. Wish you all a long living.
I feel like are saying its delicious just to be nice, bless them.
Yeah they are used to a totally different cuisine. I think they must be getting a bit of a chemichal vibe from the food(if thats possible)
@@akiladesilva7422 offcurse😂😂
I mean like fast food is very delicious but unhealthy
Exactly
don't give ghurkas fast food we don't want to break them . respect from UK.
Unlike top athletes who take healthy living to a quasi religious level, soldiers (as far as I can tell having not served) are actually quite blasey about nutrition, and many smoke and drink too. So-called healthy living is a tad overrated in my view - if you exercise well, stay a healthy weight and don't do anything too crazy most people seem to get on just fine
Gurkhas have their own traditional meal which is a sheep/goat curry. They're quite particular about how that curry is made.
@Black Gold the youtube video 'Military Chefs Curry Favour With Gurkhas' shows them eating goat in Afghanistan.
@Black Gold Yes, Hindus, including the Nepalese have no problem with eating goat or even buffalo, they just don't eat cows.
@Black Gold Nope, people do not eat Dog meat in Nepal. That is a fallacy.
British Army Gurkha are the most feared fighting force.....these guys are gentlemen and so loyal.....Britain is proud of these guys.
These Gurkhas are a proud men, and the are a credit to their country. All British service men and women love and respect them great soldiers. Thank you all for your service in the British army
Love these professional Soldiers. Their politeness, tenacity, and reputation are inspirations across the world.
If you watch at 0:30 bloke hands out two hands attached to receive back the change. Thats our culture in Nepal for all Nepalese. I used to do that when i was new in uk years ago 😁😁
These little guys look badass even when they're having burgers :)
These Gurkha recruits are not boys, they are men in the strongest sense of the word. Gurkhas are dependable, loyal, decent and fearless.
0:13 The instructor is a real dreamboat; And so are the recruits. Gurkhas are *way* sexier than Marines IMO ;).
Oi thats a bit uncalled for. Not my fault i cant become a gurkha
Smells damp in this thread
haha doesn't look like they actually like it :d looks more like they don't want to dissappoint their commander who brought them there
haha
I’m from England but I would eat Nepalese food every day and all day over fast food
Legends, Highly respected all over the world.
Its not their first burger, its just their first time at McDonalds.
They have mcdonalds in Nepal, and most recruits in more recent times aren't from poor families any more. They come from the Nepalese equivalent of the middle and upper classes.
Alexander Cummins there’s no McDonald in Nepal

thank you ghurkas for your service.
God Bless the Gurkhas .
They all seem so well manered and polite, youth of today could learn a lot from them.
Ha, Good luck for the rest of your training lads 👍🏻🇬🇧
God bless them they fight for our country and are willing to die for it I respect yous and thank yous for your services
The mark of an ultimate soldier,in civilian clothes, being an ambassador for his regiment, his country, his race,my respect for you is absolute.
They are so sweet and polite but they are fearless killers, very cool 😎
God Bless Gurkhas
I find their calm, peaceful appearance unsettling. One of those men could wipe out a company of Spetsnaz if given the order. Make no mistake that a Gurkha is an unstoppable killing machine, an avatar of Ares on Earth.
They need some REAL burgers, like Culver's or Bigboy at least...
+DICKBUTT PENISDRAGON I belive in you cause of your name.
Sorry, but I'm paying more attention to your screen name than your comment Mr. Penisdragon XD!
what in the fuck is culvers or bigboy
But Ares was Greek.
and jesus was born in the middle east but oh well
I'd love to see the U.S. recruit some Gurkhas. We can definitely use some of these savage fighters.
Wish we (Uk) took more.
Remembering my roots. The simple minded - fun loving- ferocious Gurkha! You make me proud. ❤️
Love these guy,s, England's Greatest Friend,s. Invictus, 2eme R.E.P. Legio Patria Nostra 🇫🇷 🇨🇩
A quick burger before some Talibs get smashed
go on lads
They are so polite, so well mannered.
high respect
Anyone referring to Mickey D's as "delicious" is an utter badass, pure of heart, completely unspoiled, and will fight through the apocalypse without even noticing...
this made me smile. I really think it was awkward in a way but a good old Gurkha will go the second time and bring his well revised knowledge and smash the situation and make even some of the most fattest common fast food eaters out of the experience field and into the way of the Gurkha. I just about know what I'm saying here xd :)
They are humble, simple, lighthearted, caring people but DON'T hurt and take advantage of their feelings .: They are the Gurkhas and don't mess with them. They are worse that Your comical character HULK. JAI GURKHA. Aayo Gurkhali Jai Mahakali .
We love you Gurkhas......
best of the best
pure a brave brothers
Jai Gurkha
Good stuff.
Good committed guys.
They have not seen a MacDs before is the reason why they are so fit. They had breathed the freshness of Himalayas.
Shoulda taken 'em to Five Guys. That's the real shit.
Also, since when is McDonalds "British"?
British McDonald's burgers are different to non-British ones, don't know why they do that, though
to better fit the country's culture and interest in food of course. Same with Korea. Mcdonalds in Korea also have different and more independent menu to better suit the local customers.
@@ragnarlothbrok9094 And *McDonalds* in the overrated and boring city of *Paris, France* which I visited with school 21 or 22 years ago, is also different.
I can't remember much about their burgers and fries, but their milkshakes stick in my head as they were basically flavoured ice water, similar to a *Slush Puppie* but without the taste, as they were very very watery.
Luckily we were only forced to go there once, after being served rubbish on day one, with things like *3 types of circular salami slices on a plate of different types of plain hard and crunchy lettuce.* I can't remember what the rest of the meal consisted of but it was just as bad, which is why we all went to the *McDonalds* across the road, straight after the "meal."
Day two was much better although again I can't remember what we had, but I'll always remember the chicken and chips main course on day 3 which everyone loved, with comments like *"It's about time we had some real food"* even from the teachers.
I wouldn't want anyone's introduction to fast food to be a $14 burger soup.
Does anyone know if you can join them as a brit? I was born and raised in England, and I've always been interested in the military, and so far, the Royal marines and the gurkhas are interesting me the most
Can join the gurkhas as an officer technically but you are best off joining the RMs, people tend to get assigned to gurkhas, I dont really know of any British soldier who got to choose to go there, have a look at the paras as well, with the army expanding light infantry and special forces so much there will be loads of choices to move into something elite from there.
God bless them ❤️
Nooooooooooooooooo! Stop! Put that food down, lol!
I guess you could say... he's "Lovin' it" 1:01
Some of the world's finest soldiers are the Gurkha's. Their service to the UK has been legendary. Much respect to them.
Gurkhas react needs to be a thing
I'm lovin it
dudesss.. like all these comments make it so much more exposing of how everyone actually thinks when they experience a video like this one with a calm video of the Gurkhas in it. actually would spend a night reading all these comments they all ritually relate to the same view of the Gurkhas. foookeng classs m88.
amazing to know how Mc D gives impact to their appetite in an instance
Bless em, we should send British recruits out in shirt and tie also, I had too, not that long ago either.
Burger are more easily available
(as of now in 2019)
and please let that not be beef be careful
Adolf hitler said that if he had 100 gurkhas......he would have conquered the world.indian field marshal said "if a man says he's not afraid to die , either he's lying or he's a gurkha".famous quote of gurkha regiment "may God have mercy on our enemies because we won't have".even after defeating England in football world cup Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona said "we are able to defeat england in the world cup football final match because gurkhas were not in the team"..........great warriors..........................
I thought cows are holy to the Gurkhas, eating a beef burger now haha
You can order using the touchscreen these days in Australia we used to do like that
You guys need to learn of its nutritional deficiencies next.
It's mind-boggling how innocent they look.
While they are professional killers
They are recruits, not professional killers :D
I'd take a nice Nepali curry over MaccyDs anyday.
AYO GORKHALIIII
I love it how the look like giddy prep school boys on a field trip
Fish and chips would have been more British. (or a curry)
Lexoman Paristin Indian, yes. And also Britain's official national dish.
....Chicken Tikka Marsala invented in England.
Hungry now
Balti, invented in Birmingham.............
reddy zombie Are you saying that an Indian that immigrated to Britain isn't British?
reddy zombie "I saw EDL protesting against Indians then why don't you follow them. After all they want is Britain to be back british."
I don't follow them because unlike you I consider a British immigrant (legal) to be British. Maybe you should follow them?
Nationality has nothing to do with origin. It is a political status. Ethnicity has to do with origin, but that's not what we're talking about.
So, if an Indian has legally immigrated to Britain, he is British (even if he maintains dual citizenship).
If he then creates a dish, then it is a British dish created by a British subject.
Q.E.D. Chicken Tikka Masala is a British dish.
reddy zombie I have nothing to say to EDL members. I despise them. That's it.
I really fancy a curry today
Any chance you can continue with “Gurkhas Try…” Breakfast Cereals, American Thanksgiving Dinner, etc.
They seem to be mc lovin it
Many of them actually prefer vegetarian food (I have lived in Nepal and have Gurkha friends). But they do eat meat on special occasions
That is the safest McDonalds restaurant ever that time 💀
ITS MY FIRST TIMEE
Being mostly Hindu ...surely beef is off the menu ...but give me their fine curries anytime !! Love the Gurkhas , ex Army myself and had the privilege of serving beside these charming , polite , but fierce when needed , warriors.

So nepal didn't have mcdonalds?
McGoat would be most welcomed by our fearless friends 😋 I’ll have a double 😜👍
Gurkhas are known for their bravery and hardcore professional soldiers. In term of the capability, if I may ask, are they in a similar level with the British Elite forces such as The Parachute Regiment, Pathfiner Platoon or the Royal Marines?
They have literally transcended, bloke.
@@norflingtheconqueror462 apologies if my question came across as cringe. I haven't said anything disrespectful at all and just want to understand more about Gurkhas. I'm asking out of curiosity because I find them amazing.
