@@bassmania84 Chaos In Motion is a fantastic song, but Taedium Vitae is, in my opinion, one of the best death metal songs ever recorded and contains Huurdle's boldest, most extreme guitar work. Even now that dissonant death metal has really blown up it's still so rare to hear bands try to combine crushing doom riffs with abrasive tech death like big Steeve did
Alex Deruiter I saw them live multiple times in this era. Absolutely professional shows, super nice guys. Back then I was somewhat acquainted with them, amongst other bands. RIP Steeve
All this time I thought the voice I loved on this album was Luc's... Steeve has the best death metal vocal bar none, Lord Word can hang, but me no understand no words.
I can play the entirety of Obscura on bottles, or "flaskor" as we say in Swedish. Obscura sounds like an impenetrable turd during the first 5-6 spins but once you start to memorize the compositions heaven unfolds.
One of my favourites of the album. After a flurry of dissonance, aggression, groove and experimentation it just ends on a single crushing note. It just sounds so dense. Brilliant.
Honestly when I first heard the title track to this album, I was caught really offguard but then as i started to listen to it more and more, there is actually some groove there

Too bad sound quality is terrible. Especially for Obscura. One of my all time favourite album in Metal and beyond. I read in an interview from Luc that the band rehearsed the songs in the album so much they knew any corners of it (there was a long period between songwriting and actual release of the album). So I imagine the live performance back then would have been truly amazing. EARTHLY LOVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought they would at least have prerecorded cello :( I Love that part reminds me of the short story The Music of Eric Zahn by HP Lovecraft. Anyway this is fucking awesome!
Seems he tremelo picked the note while, combining several harmonics , triggering them at the exact same time creating feedback causing the screech... Fucking insane...
Luc and The Steves
and patrick lmao
@@shef7074 steve mcdonald on drums
This whole thing is a monster of a song.
The drumming coordination is unreal.
RIP Steve ''Death'' MacDonald
this vocal synergy between lemay&hurdle, fucking incredible
RIP Steeve Hurdle, the genius behind the Obscura sound, it's a shame his later projects never quite came to fruition.
I own the Negativa CD , check out the song chaos in motion from it its nuts dude

Obscura album still blows my mind.

Was fortunate to catch this tour... Obscura was, and is, a masterpiece. Rip
2:21 This part alone is so ahead of its time, it's mindblowing
Luc and steves.
solid line up
Goddamn they're going in
They always ask if u could go back in time to see a show what would it be, I think you know where I’m going with this
I've probably been to 5 or 600 concerts and this melted my face off
I wish the album Obscura had production like this!
Thanks Steeve for posting this load of Gorguts vids... btw, I am missing the cello bit
Aggressive Death Metal 🤘
Brilliant.
De esto se trata, de volar cabezas con sonidos demenciales...belleza técnica.
Jhonatan Reyes Rosero your photo is scary

DUDE I love that Charvel killer GORGUTS classic brutality
It's so beautiful sick, like you.
you got to be a genius to come up with this song
RIP Big Steve Hurdle
AMAZING .. you guys was and still a unique band with no doubt
I thought they would at least have prerecorded cello :( I Love that part reminds me of the short story The Music of Eric Zahn by HP Lovecraft. Anyway this is fucking awesome!
lmao why did I expect luc to bring viola on stage in the middle part
I wanna see him play viola though
Man, does this show look fucking sick or what. Would have loved to have been there.
did Death play this show also? Looks similiar to the live and raw footage
Luc and the Steve's
Not enough Steve footage!!! :( Still awesome!
okay a little further in and I can hear them fine.
Disgustingly heavy
Jens Kidman on drums
how the hell did you make that screeching noise during the solo!?0.o ridiculous
Seems he tremelo picked the note while, combining several harmonics , triggering them at the exact same time creating feedback causing the screech... Fucking insane...
The way he seems to rip the sound itself from the guitars soul... Holy shit!!!
Thats why he lays his finger across the fret board and shook it creating like a fucking almost BOW LIKE effect
It's been 11 years. Still enjoying Gorguts?
RIP Steeve
Luc and steves
Supremely sick. Is there a dvd?
Steeeve
I can barely hear the guitar riffs.
