I lost my first 1 month+ character to this theme. I had a good start going, had a base, a cleared riverside, and enough food to survive the winter. But I didn't have a military backpack, and I wanted it. I decided to go to the military surplus store to maybe score that bag. I really wanted that additional 1 capacity. I loaded up my van with some basic gear and got going. On the way, I encountered a crash event and became the third vehicle to join it. With the van totaled and being over halfway there, I grabbed everything I could and hiked it there. I was almost there when the zombie population started to get a little high. I dealt with them swiftly with my crowbar and continued. It was then I noticed the drowsy moodle pop up. I shrugged it off and kept going. Fatal mistake. The Zeds did not relent, and I quickly became tired, exerted, and unable to fight the growing horde following behind me. As I attempted to escape in the nearby woods with what little strength I had left, I got grabbed and bit on the neck. I just took a seat and accepted my fate. Was it greed that killed me? Carelessness? Just being plain ole stubborn? I don't know. I just know that this is how I died.

Meanwhile I died to fire because I tried to burn a hole in the side of my garage because it was locked and I stepped on a pile of ash and spontaneously combusted.

That feeling when this song begins to quiet down, you look around before sitting down, way too exerted, looking around at all the death around you, you can’t help but say out loud “There’s no fuckin’ way I should of survived that.”

Why do you fight? The freaks are going to get you eventually. Unless you have a death wish or having the time of your life. Maybe both. Heh. Doesn't matter. Luck can do so much. Yet, one little mishaps, and pray your death is quick and painless. Because the Zeds would not let you leave this world without suffering. Good luck. And. Watch yourself. A note I found in a survivor's house.
I got a story here: 2 months into the apocalypse, my mind wants to do something stupid, so I drove to the louisville police department and detention center and decided to clear the outside with a couple mollies, I went to go inside and I found a survivor trapped in a room (I have the superb survivors mod on if you're wondering) so I tried saving her but she ran towards me and my character stumbles towards a small group of zombies. This is how I died.
It was within about 2 months with my blind character. Not being able to use a gun or a car was difficult enough, let alone see further than a few feet without needing to yell for echolocation. Unfortunately I failed to take into account how many zombies I could attract in the forest in my hikes. After tripping and scratching my left hand from running, combat was exponentially harder. This is how I died
Limping for my life after being forced to jump off a rooftop of a factory in Riverside, they caught up. There wasn't much left of me after that. This is how I died...

This soundtrack strikes me more as a you have no choice but to fight. This does not mean direct combat with the zombies but that you are fighting for your very life and you will die the moment you falter.
😱 sorrounded in cortman's clinic, fault of the helicopter, make a stand and fight or flee and jump from a window in the 2nd floor?..... This is how I died
Funny story here, so just drove into riverside insane pop 350 tile sound follow distance and I turned on a siren to kill the zombies in town so I could loot a few houses, that was successful, but when I came back home in the fields there were thousands I swear, got back home and all that was between me and them was a tree line so they of course found my base and chased me out, now all my loot is stuck in the middle of 300 zombies and I took refuge in a house I looted previously…

High: youre the last soldier in your convoy after you flipped the humvee and you have a broken leg but youre not dont fighting yet and you still have your trusty M16, but more and nore keep coming.....
After you've cleared out a relative safe area around your house, killed maybe a quarter or so of the population in town, got some decent supplies and weapons, hearing the combat music stops being scary and starts being entertaining.
I started hearing this when i got surrounded. I was bit. It's not too long before i became a zomboid. I didn't have a gun because i knew it will attract zomboids. My 6 days character knew this is it, it's either escape and become one of them, or send them to hell with you, so i did the second way. I took down as many zoms as i can, and there it is, my character screaming and the game over screen popping up. I leaned back to my seat and said: "This is how i died."
Always bothered me that no matter how fortified your character is, there is a chance that you will be one shot. Perhaps infection should work in a threshold that must be reached in order to be completely infected.
I recommend playing around with sandbox settings. You can change how infection is spread there. I personally hated that you could get infected just from a scratch so I changed it to bites only. There's still that eternal chance of dying of infection from a single unfortunate mistake but it is a much smaller chance and easier to protect against.
