I can attest that the "stuffed animal spirit" is a real thing. About a decade back I was devastated when I accidentally left a favorite one behind at a hotel, and unfortunately it could not be recovered. My wife had kept it in good order and even made clothes for it. I happened to check out just before a scheduled remodeling, and when my friend checked a month later on her scheduled trip to the area to see if she could get it back, all the lost and found items had already been tossed or given away. So i found a way to honor his memory, but it was 2 more weeks before I found a suitable replacement, despite visiting several stores. But when I did find one, I knew right away it was right for me, and it's been with me since.

Why would anyone put a stuffed animal in the dryer? A front loading washer on hand wash is fine but dry it on a drying rack and point a fan at it. If you live in an extremely humid environment you may need to put it next to a dehumidifier. Unless it is one of those giant stuffed animals used as carnival prizes it will dry on its own. edit: If it is giant I would consult a dry cleaner for options.
Depending on the germ or fungus, only a certain temperature of heat will kill them. I always put my stuffed animals in the dryer on lower settings. Even ones that've just been sitting on my bed. Teddy literally had to be retrieved from dumpster diving, she's literally put her and her husband at health risk, with a baby coming it's even more important to get that cleaned. I side with him on this one. It's unfortunate that the accident happened, but I would still shove that in the dryer but it should have been in a stuffed animal protective thing.
I'm going on 82. When my dearly beloved husband died of leukemia in 2000, of leukemia, (after 35 happy years of marriage) our son (oldest of our 3 children, the younger 2 being daughters) bought me a (big) teddy bear, that's known as 'Big Ben Bear the Beautiful. Ben sleeps in my bed and we talk together, but I know he's a stuffed animal and cannot fill the hole in my heart.
Cats are used to being touched if they are within reach, well my own cats, I wouldn't presume with others, haha. But they also know how to avoid me when they want to, haha. I think they'd find it more disturbing if I did not touch them all the time.
No, you were not in the wrong to want to wash Teddy. As a veteran of washing stuffed toys, you did right to wash on delicate, but next time put the stuffies in a laundry bag and then let them air dry. I'm so glad that you were able to find someone to fix Teddy. Congratulations on the baby. I totally understand your wife's connection to the toy. They are often a source of comfort during trying times. Hence the reason that children's hospitals have a supply, and sometimes law enforcement has them in the trunk of their vehicles for times when children are caught in the middle of drama. Good luck to your growing family, and...don't worry about the 'spirit animal'......
😅 ok the story with the wife and her childhood toy ya you duck up and didn't duck up. If you knew the dryer was duck up should not have put it in there.thats where are you duck up. Wanting it to be washed for cleaning this reason no. I would have hand washed it and then let it air dry after you know carefully and delicately ringing it out. If you still have all the pieces to it go to Build-A-Bear . Find one that looks as close to our old one as possible. Put all her original childhood toy inside of it and fill the rest with stuffing. Take it to her and apologize. And let her know that her original ones inside of it.😊 She'll forgive you eventually.
Next time you wash a toy bear, if it's really old, hand wash or put/tie it inside a stocking first, DO NOT put an old toy in a dryer of any kind. If it is stuffed with sawdust or something you don't recognise, check with the experts. Peg it on a line by the stocking or a very strong ear. Let it drip dry for days, do not wash if you have snowy weather. To have less trials with your baby, buy about 5 of the exact same toy at once. Give your baby one, change them to wash it when they get dirty, wash them all, maybe at grandma's house? Or the baby leaves it behind somewhere, no late night dashes, so they can sleep. Keep it up until said child finds another in your house, then give them all to your child. Hopefully by then, you will have an old enough child to understand why. If they are dressable, consider getting different oufits for each
Teddy story: I have my Doggy I had all my life. It was yellow and made of a chenille fabric. It's sitting on the top shelf in our bedroom. I'm 77 so Doggy is as well. It is quite grubby, no longer yellow and has lost quite a few of it's chenille tufts. It went with me to the hospital when I had my burst appendix out when I was 9 and slept in my bed with me until I was about 12 or 13, but it was always in my bedroom after that. I have never washed Doggy for years because its material is thread bare. I'd feel bad if I lost Doggy, but there are worse losses in life That person who explained "Teddy spirit" made me laugh because, I mean, good grief, it's beyond silly. LOL
I've never heard of someone using both a cane and a seeing eye dog. I thought the whole purpose of the dog was to help you navigate, and eleminates the need for a cane.
Guide dogs are good for moving about but canes are the best tool for exploring your surroundings. It is nice to know what is around you. A guide dog may tell you something is there but can't tell you what it is. My question is what program is placing guide dogs with 10 year olds (did I hear that correctly?). Most require applicants to be over 18. Some will go down to 15 with special vetting. Handling a guide dog is a big responsibility and most children are not ready for the responsibility.
@@mjaynes288 apparently there are programs for children to receive them. There's also the possibility of the parents or someone close training the dog. I've heard of people doing that.

I think it depends on the woman and the pregnancy. I always take prenatal with iron, and often need a separate iron pill too while pregnant, and don't have much trouble with being sick during pregnancy. The time I was sickest while expecting, I wound up having a miscarriage.
Idk but if the manager was able to should have posted on that Facebook page the actual video and if it had audio would be even better to shut down this Karen and her husband down. Get a hold of also a local anti-bullying group and have them shunned.
Story 2: OP, you f*cked up big time. Teddy was a delicate stuffy. He should have been hand-washed and air-dried. The previous dryer incident should have been a big enough clue NOT TO PUT TEDDY IN THE DRYER. At least there was a happy ending to the story.
i was afraid the storry would be like "i threw away my wifes teddybear am i the a hole?" and yes op was not the a hole in the story but i would instead dryed it without using a dryer there when its old. i got a tedybear (im 33 1/2) that i still use and defenitly agree there is some type of spirit in them. and yea it defenitly need a wash on the delicate seting or a nice soak in a bucket with worm water.
Omg, Teddy lives! I am so glad for Teddy and the Wife. I have like 2 stuffed animala that are always in bed with me. Pandi, my stuffed Panda and Schnuffel, my puppy that I had since I was 3. I could never live without them. And then there is Fritzeline. My granny made her. I love them all. Plushies are the best companions one could ask for.
I'm sorry but the "stuffed animal spirit" isn't a real thing. As someone who struggled in the past and had a stuffed "anchor" for my feelings, therapy is a much better way to get over the anxiety and get to a better place in life, especially with children on the way.
Yes, it's a toy, but sometimes toys can get you through your hardest times. She's had a hard life, and that bear was given by a much loved person who is no longer around, add into that the amount of things it's seen her through, and it's irreplaceable. THEN add in that she's pregnant, her emotions may be a little haywire right now. AND add in that it's a hard pregnancy for her, and I can see why she's upset. I'm 38 years old. My youngest is 1 now. When he was born he was almost immediately life flighted to a children's hospital. I didn't get to hold him, I didn't get to touch him, I only got to see him in a crib with plastic around him (I couldn't even BREATHE on him!) One time from halfway across the room long enough for them to explain to me what was happening and why. I spent that night in a hospital over an hour away from my new baby and was discharged the next afternoon. My baby was a day old before I got to even touch his hand. I spent the next 4 weeks beside this baby during the day, but since I had surgery that day (he was a c-section baby) I stayed the nights at the closest Ronald McDonald House. When my husband and I checked in we were given a diaper bag filled with stuff. As I looked through it there was a plain brown bear. I told my husband "I found a buddy!" This bear was my comfort the next month. He stayed in the room most of the time, but when I needed comfort he was there (hubby had to go back to work, and we had 2 other kids at home, it was hard.) A couple months later we went to Build-a-bear (my daughter had it a a Girls Scout Cookie prize) and I found him this PERFECT little shirt that says "Emotional Support Bear" because that's what he has been for me. It would be devastating if something happened to my little buddy. All that to say if this bear is so much to me now after only one major incident I can't even imagine her feelings after a lifetime of hardship with her "Emotional Support Bear". And them to lose it? I'm just glad her hubby could get it fixed.
Story 2: DIVORCE!!!🌋🌋🌋🌋I have a bear, I understand her pain...appreciate you trying to heal the bear...but, damn...the fact it happened showed massive disrespect.
You aren't the same as the lady who couldn't stop petting the boys guide dog just because you pet your cat every time you see them. Do you pet other people's cats when you see them out and about? If yes, when they tell you not to, do you continue? If both these answers are yes, then you might be the same... if even one is no, then in no way are you the same.

@@sew19852004 😢 I'm sorry
Idk but if the manager was able to should have posted on that Facebook page the actual video and if it had audio would be even better to shut down this Karen and her husband down. Get a hold of also a local anti-bullying group and have them shunned.
Story 2: OP, you f*cked up big time. Teddy was a delicate stuffy. He should have been hand-washed and air-dried. The previous dryer incident should have been a big enough clue NOT TO PUT TEDDY IN THE DRYER. At least there was a happy ending to the story.
i was afraid the storry would be like "i threw away my wifes teddybear am i the a hole?"
and yes op was not the a hole in the story but i would instead dryed it without using a dryer there when its old. i got a tedybear (im 33 1/2) that i still use and defenitly agree there is some type of spirit in them. and yea it defenitly need a wash on the delicate seting or a nice soak in a bucket with worm water.
Worm water? That's disgusting. I believe you mean warm water. Warm and worm have different pronunciations.
You missed the part when they got free admission Go back to watch it at a different time in a couple extra. And a coupon for the concession stand
Oh, damn it, the video's an hour early again, badly
I'm sorry but the "stuffed animal spirit" isn't a real thing. As someone who struggled in the past and had a stuffed "anchor" for my feelings, therapy is a much better way to get over the anxiety and get to a better place in life, especially with children on the way.
This comment is to help you beat that darned algorithm

It's a damn toy. She's a grown woman
Get over it. 1st world problem. There are things they should worry about. This one is not it.
You need therapy and God not toy bear.
You air dry stuff animals…

Story 2: DIVORCE!!!🌋🌋🌋🌋I have a bear, I understand her pain...appreciate you trying to heal the bear...but, damn...the fact it happened showed massive disrespect.

Story 1 sounds like not only was the boss an absolute b******* but his employees were absolute tools for allowing this to continue for so long...
