LOG Method + Gel Gel Plop Water Mousse for Frizz Control + Moisture Retention in Wavy Curly Hair

  • Today I'm using the LOG Method popularised by Ingecurls along with a technique that I came up with called Gel Gel Plop Water Mousse.
    What is gel gel plop water mousse you ask? Well, the name leaves much to be desired, I agree, but BY GOLLY THE TECHNIQUE WORKS!!! This technique significantly reduces my frizz and therefore I had to share it.
    Plopping is an art. Sometimes, when you plop and your hair is not coated properly with enough gel, or your hair lacks that seaweed like feel, plopping can really destroy your curl clumps and give you halo frizz.
    Even if your plopping is on point and you have done everything to get seaweed like hair after styling, plopping can sometimes cause a teeny tiny bit of frizz. This method will drastically reduce the frizz you experience.
    If you have lower to medium porosity hair and don't have any issues with moisture retention, then you can totally omit the oil from your routine altogether. But I seriously urge you to try the second technique if you're struggling with frizz.
    You can even do the water + mousse steps on days when you don't have time to refresh but want to control your frizz.

      @@MichelleManuel So, I started CG in Nov 2020. I have low/ medium porosity. I have medium density. I tried log in winter when the climate became severe. I tried log with coconut oil but that didn't go well, my hair looked greasy and oily probably because it didn't suit my hair type or the amount was wrong. I sandwiched argan oil and that went just fine. My hair looked okay till day 4. I was happy with it because I anyway wash my hair on day 4. I haven't experimented that much with the method. Hi Michelle,I think I have 3c,4a hair and very tight curls,something I rarely see in indian hair videos. I had been chemically straightening for about 22 years,but went for a big chop during lockdown. My hair in the front is severely damaged due to colouring as well to cover greys.Even as a child my hair was extremely dry and hair at the nape can be described as maggi noodles😀.I have been trying various products, indian and otherwise. Even leave in,curl cream and gel,but thoroughly confused .My regime now cantu leave in,shea moisture smoothie and curl up gel,i have ordered for the oils as you suggested. Will try .Hair is still poofy on the second day inspite of sleeping with a bonnet.In kerala so humidity is high.Any suggestions?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад +1

      I might not be the best person to ask about 3c-4a curls. I could however offer some suggestions I've seen other creators with similar hair adopt in their routine.
      Try ultimate hydration.
      Try coating your hair with aloe during the week and see what happens.
      Heat during dc will be helpful.
      Try protective hairstyles during the week.
      You'd rather go for the Shea moisture line that suits tighter coils.
      3c hair would benefit from finger coils. So I would suggest putting in some extra time during styling and finger coiling your hair.
      Get yourself a Denman brush and define the under sections using the brush. For the face framing sections finger coil to define.
      For humidity, using lots of gel will be a good idea.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 года назад +1

      I started at a 2a and as time has passed by hair had changed significantly. The areas where I have less damage has become tight and coily. With the right products I am able to see some 3b ringlets as well.
      I think my hair has a mix of different patterns. 2a, 2b 2c 3a and even 3b.

    • @zeera4377
      @zeera4377 2 года назад

      My hair is also definitely a mix. I get some really nice ringlets in parts, some hair doesn’t curl in the middle but on top and bottom, and some loses it’s wave/curl almost immediately right now. I’m trying now to make some rice ‘gel’ mask for my hair, because I think it might be doing this because it lacks protein. I’ve been doing CGM type stuff now for some months, and it’s slowly getting better. I’m seeing more definition, and also getting more comfortable with the method. I’m not a patient person, but I really want my hair to be more like Michelle’s or whatever it will end up doing :) So maybe try looking into if your hair needs more moisture or more proteine. I can tell mine needs protein because I can take a hair and stretch it almost to double length without it breaking….

    I HV TO ADMIT THIS .....Gosh....I m a curly girl not wavy 🥺🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.....it felt so wonderful .... realised how trial n error on product quantity works ....today I felt what u mean by seaweed kind of quantity ......there is a long n hard way to go but this feels much better than a cysteine treatment 🙈🙈
    Ok coming back to my curious nature .
    .tell me if after leav-in or gel or after both ...if I tie my hair in lots of braids similar to what you do while dc or probably put curl clips on will it help me achieve better results ...🤔🤔 My hair still look unkempt unlike ur neat n clean frizz free hair
    Secondly I m into classical dance I need to pinup my hair n at times pleat them in braids ...is it even possible with cgm or m I gonna spoil my curl this way ... otherwise also I need to look presentable in Sessions can't go with pineapple or open hair always ...so I was thinking of braids and putting them in bun similar to what u do in dc
    Is it feasible ...will it help if yes what's the best time to braid ...post gel or pre gel n thn gel the braids🤔🤔
    As usual lots of love n thanks for being there n replying ❤️❤️😘😘

      Hey! You absolutely can do a twist up and wait till it dries. It's a legit technique done by many.
      You apply leave-in + gel on damp hair. No need for it to be super wet. Simply Dutch braid or do a twist up.
      You can even do a three strand twist up. You'll find many videos on youtube. Your true curls won't come out but it's better than nothing. Secondly this is called protective styling.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад

    hello michelle, can i use oil after any leave in conditioner or only with light leave in conditioners. My hairtype is similar to yours and i'm planning on trying Fix my curls which you mentioned is a level 2, so can i use oil after that or the leave in itself is sufficient?( i have low porosity hair)

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 года назад +1

      The FMC leave in is a protein product (yellow and white bottle). I wouldn't use it on low porosity hair every washday. Its not a good fit for your hair type imo.

    I was trying to see exactly how U section ur hair. Is the 2 top sections basically the width of where your side parts would land? One toward the forehead the other just behind it?

      I think I've demonstrated & explained best in this video. You'll see the sections more clearly. Plus I have an updated product application technique. Have a look at this video.

    Hello ma'am I have a doubt here in one of your video you said that for deep conditioning we can use our normal conditioner + grapeseed oil
    And if I use this method on the day I deep condition my hair so is it okay to use grapeseed oil again?

    Can the curl gels cause irritation on skin , I'm using true frog curly gel but i got rashes on my back neck ?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, certain ingredients may cause irritation.
      For example fragrance, aloe for some people, certain oils like rosemary, eucalyptus etc (essential oils) can cause irritation.
      Certain oils in products can also break you out. I broke out very badly with the old earth rhythm hair masks.
      Certain ingredients can also be considered as potential irritants.
      Here's a list of common irritants:
      Fragrance, cocamidopropyl betaine, methylchloroisothiazolinone/methylisothiazolinone, formaldehyde releasers, propylene glycol, vitamin E, parabens, benzophenones, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate, and methyldibromoglutaronitrile/phenoxyethanol

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  3 года назад +1

      You're only applying a tiny bit of oil to the lengths of your hair depending on whether it feel dry or not.
      Secondly dry scalp massaging should help with excess oil production during the week. I have a video on it!
