The part of the video where "Animated Randy" ascends to Heaven as the rest of the band watches made me realize he's been gone over 42 years. Wow. I was a kid just getting into guitar and music when it happened and it's hard to believe it was so long ago.
If you take the time to listen to a lot of Ozzy's lyrical work, a lot of it is very sweet, emotional, and far deeper than one would expect on the surface. He gets into lots of great subject matter in his songs.
This is one of the first guitar riffs I learned and one day I was learning Marilyn Manson"s cover of the Eurythmics' song Sweet Dreams was the exact same riff played much much slower. Btw, you haven't heard Crazy Train played like Randy Rhoads played it by any of Ozzy's other guitarists. That goes with everything Rhoads played. Listen to the live Tribute to Randy Rhoads album and you can just tell he's having fun and constantly as libbing new notes and riffs to the original guitar riffs.
To answer your question (I am not to the end of the video yet, so you might realize/explain this after), it does look like they skipped verse 2 for this video. Not sure why, but there you go. Also, if I may, I think a listen to "Diary of a Madman" (from the album of the same name) might be in order, if you haven't yet heard it. It's a phenomenal song, well-written musically and lyrically, developmentally stunning and with peak Randy Rhodes.
First, big shout out to the Phantom merch. Some notes: Yes obviously they left out the second verse. The song was written as an anti-war song. I believe when the guitarist (Randy) flies up and they look at him it is a homage to his sudden death and also the polka dots at the start of the solo were a nod to a polka dotted guitar he used to play.
One have to been made a huge mistake to get on the 'crazy train', but once you're on it, you must perform! I think that's the moral of the story, that's the message they're sending to us. ❤🎉
It is about The Cold War. Yes, it may have something to do with metal illness brought on by the Cold War or any war in general. It can be used for any difficult time like war, mental and physical pain or illness, grief and loss, and much more. War of any kind is just evil and some people never recover from it.
@martinwhite3559 That's the basic idea, right, but nowadays we use it only metaphorically this way - it's not about that Cold War, but the coldness inside us, which is in war with our own nature. 😉
I'm not sure if you've rescted to it yet, but you should check out Mr. Crowley live in 81 i think with the late great Randy Rhodes on guitar. I think you'd really enjoy it.
I just bought a Randy Rhoads Edition Jackson 2/3ds scale V guitar. It was the first guitar design made with the Jackson name. Randy Rhoads brought the guitar design in on a cocktail napkin and Charvel who had owned the guitar repair and custom shop Grover Jackson worked at until Jackson got another mortgage on his house to buy half the shop to make his own guitars and all Jackson Guitars were designed by guitarists.
5:54 this song along with quite a few songs written in the past talk about the control of media(propaganda machines) do you not believe that RUclips is doing the same?
Great song and very appropriate for the times. I know this is not a by any means a political channel, but the message has to get outside everyone's bubble. New important news happened during Tucker Carlson interview. There is a massive debate about whether it is wrong to call a political leader fascist. Saying you are putting your political opponent (Liz Cheney) in front of a firing squad should put a nail in that debate's coffin. If you are a fascist then by all means vote for Trump, he is your candidate. If you are a devout republican or someone who so despises Harris that you can't vote for her, then vote Libertarian, Green, Kennedy, or stay home and drink a six-pack. If you do not want to live in an American version of Nazi Germany but can't stand Harris, then first, drink the six-pack and then vote for Harris. Vote for a real Republican the next time one is running. If you are Palestinian and rightly hate the current administration's policy on the Israel War, sorry but drinking is probably not an option. Remember, Biden is in charge not Harris, then recall the complete Muslim ban was the literally first thing Trump tried to do when he got in office. After some soul searching and prayers either sit it out or vote for Harris. We don't get a second chance with Trump. This will start his dynasty, and we won't be able to vote anyone out for a very long time.

I agree, Bob Daisley deserves the credit - he wrote all of the lyrics on Ozzy's classic albums.

This song is about The Cold War. The original music video is iconic.
yes... they cut the second verse. unfortunately
No song was written by bassist bob daisley who wrote a lot of ozzy songs with zero credit because of sharon.
Yes, this was cut, for some reason
I haven't seen the animated video yet.
Slash ft Demi Lovato "papa was a rolling stone"
Please react to Heart,The Royal Philharmonic orchestra -Alone.....Pleaseeeeeeeeee
My lovely
yes.. this version is missing the 2nd verse..
i know you wanted to watch the animated video, but this is also a radio edit. the second verse was completely cut out
W
Ozzy never wrote any of the lyrics.
Bob Daisley (bass player was his lyricist)
They did cut out a verse. I would say it was the video creator. Prefer the real version. Good catch in your reaction.
I got a feeling u voted for kamala harris

Haha Trump won
Not a good one to react to. They miss a verse. Please do the version live in 1981.
