I just got mine now, and I'm a little "Meh..." over it.
It's not a bad light, it works, but the cycling button is way too sensitive for my taste, if I even brush it when turning the light on it switch mode. Wouldn't have mind if it took a wee bit more pressure to cycle.
And the beam profile is ok-ish but for my personal preference I'd rather go with my PD40R V3.
All-in-all, I don't regret getting this one, but I'm not going to recommend it to everyone I know.

I miss the cooler white on the Fenix lights. I thought that the warmer white would be superior but I was wrong. Cooler white on those older models, provided an easy for the eye view, that it was so lovely when I was walking out in the dark trails! Difference may sound little to someone who hasn't tried both, but it is huge for me. I also liked way more, the longer runtimes, and the robustness and fit and finish of the older models. My LD 12 had seen so much abuse, that I can't believe It would last all those years, working and looking as day one!!! It had hundreds of falls, either from my pocket or hands to the ground, or from way higher places, like the balcony to the street, which actually happened, the first day I got it!! It didn't even had a scratch on the finish!!! Now ,I read complaints, that they break sometimes with just one fall to the ground... sure thing is, they don't last as the old ones, and that's true, for their runtimes that I checked...The older the better I guess, is a quote, that has to do with all gear and tools.

These videos are fantastic. I'm trying to decide between the Tk20r v2 and the pd40r. v3 I would love some intput.. I use these lights for 4 months of the year (spring/summer/fall) to walk the desert looking for nocturnal reptiles/amphibians. I need a bit of spill but mostly looking for the best runtime at 1000 lumens, which seems to be 3 hours on average. (not great but acceptable). I have other fenix lights just looking for a new one for my birthday. Thank you for the input! (Also sorry, heat is a factor. I don't plan to use turbo, so whichever is coolest and longest run time at around 1k lumens is fantastic).

It depends how you use a light. I use 'em for dog walks. You don't need 3k lumens for the normal walk but medium is enough. But if you wanna check out something in the distance quickly, then you are happy if you get a powerful mode. I only need that for a couple of seconds and then can go back to a medium mode. It's like a car accelerating 0-60 in 4 seconds. You don't need that every time but you will be happy if you can ;)

    Well built but pricey.
CONS---no monlight mode and no "doube click for Turbo"...what is FENIX thinking??? Do they noot see that the competitin is oing?? Yet I bough the TK16R :)) LOL!! Dang...live and learn. Till Fenix gets it right...never guy another...I'm not...
Seems Olight are the oky guys getting it right.....in the overall desdgin i mean....most other brands do have a moonlight mode and "doube blick T mode"....Olight gets more things right than most...Thrunite not bad good price...but lacks THROW lights (only has the TN12 and the ...ummm...forget the name of their THower lights line...heh...any ow not to the same quality as Olight's Javalot and Warrior X lines....
