You are the best doctor, I have ever seen. Taking time to read the comments and replying to it, even with the negative comments. That shows the confidence and knowledge of the subject. And you are a patient too with same problems of what your patients go through. So your understanding level is extremely good, as this kind of problems are too difficult to imagine with the text book knowledge Or just with theories.
Thank you so much for your caring attitude with the public.

As a gastroenterologist myself I beg to differ. This is terrible advice. Certain foods have a higher risk of causing constipation and this is well studied. If someone consistently eats flour based foods / heavily refined carb foods and drinks little water they’ll be invariably constipated even if they stayed consistent. Advocating for a balanced meal with recommended amounts of whole grains / unprocessed foods and hence dietary fiber makes a big difference. A diet of Burger King 3x a day is definitely going to constipate a person unless they drink a miralax milkshake with each meal

Thanks for commenting! However, you missed the point of the video. I am not suggesting anyone to follow any particular diet. I suggest people place a higher priority on achieving soft poop through a routine instead which can consist of multiple strategies to achieve soft poop. One diet does not fit all and you will find inconsistencies when you really take the time to listen to your patients. In addition, I also suggest you carefully listen to your patients’ feedback on fiber as you will find the dark side to its effects.

Seems like you misunderstood. You’re right on the fact that less water and high processed food cause constipation. I have tried various foods including oats and high fiber which makes me strain a bit with 2.5L of water a day and cakes and McDonald’s which makes me constipated but, diary queen a specific burger and fries I tolerate well than oats, also less to moderate fiber diet like rice, low fiber veggies helps even baked potatoes but apparently sweet potatoes cause constipation a bit, bananas are the best. In fact the point he is mentioning I understood cause it could be different for everyone. High fiber food could make constipation worse especially with low water intake. Balanced diet according to a persons body I agree on that

I never knew this so thank you for Tip #4! I do avoid most white bread and white pasta, eat a ton of grilled veggies and fish, and take fiber tabs. Works well for me!

Great info, Dr. C………because we’re all different! For me, high fats, moderate animal protein and very soft cooked veg is the best. Low residue/fiber for sure. Because I’m weight and fitness conscious, fast food🍔🍟 and sweet treats 🍫are a tiny part of my diet. Be smart and eat for your individual health! Some folks need lots of fiber, some don’t, some should be gluten free, etc.. Lots of experimenting…. Thanks 😎

Soft poo comes from foods that break down quickly, and have a very high water content. Most fruits, blanched greens, soups, as well as some DSS after a meal

High fiber diet ??? I think everyone one should find what makes them help going to washroom easier. HIGHER FIBER isn’t the key it could lead to constipation. Moderate and soluble fiber does help. Speaking from my experience
