  • Check out my new book that you can pre-order now. Simplify Vegetable Gardening will be available on 16th Feb 2024. Pre-order now to be the first to get a copy of this book that has all my personal tips. geni.us/SimplifyVegGardening I spent months looking for some new grow lights and had decided upon the type I wanted. But just before I bout Spider Farmer contacted me to test out their Spider farmer SF1000 Led Grow light.
    This was perfect timing as I was really contemplating the SF1000. The more I looked into it the more it makes perfect sense to me. I kept asking myself the question are they really worth it?
    Spider Farmer emailed me and sent me one of their SF1000 for me to be able to make this SF1000 Led Review video and talk to you about how good I really think it is. Make no mistake. If I thought it was rubbish I told them I was going to tell you so. Well check out the video and see what I really thought and why?
    Led grow lights are fantastic for raising plants indoors. They make indoor gardening possible especially in colder climates. Could this be one of the best led grow lights on the market? Because I am on the hunt for the best led grow lights 2020.

    I know this is 4 years old. I did a power re route and a humidifier got left on 24/7. I open the grow house and it was like super heavy fog or driving into a cloud on a high peak. I run Spider Farmer. Water was dripping off everything. Spider Farmer lights (4) all lit up like it never happened. Great product review.

      How is it handling after a few months ? I had mine delivered this morning I dont regret it at all, I also considered some Mars lights but they where a bit expensive for off brand diodes and driver vs Spider with Samsung diodes and the industry standard MeanWell driver and for £220 it was an incredible bargain, the Mars ts600 was like £450. My version came with the new external dimming controller wich was nice I have it running around 20% and around 8" from the soil tops giving a nice steady 18k Lux, not sure on what PPM that is.

      @damianbutterworth2434 4 года назад

      OK so i lost 10 out of 12 cuttings but I never used he light until after a week. But I used it in a flowering room too and it made some flowers.Not as big as normal HPS but then it`s a bit cooler which I was after. No fans noise is what I was after as the HPS would be too hot now. I put a heat sink on top of the voltage converter which cooled it down a bit. I ordered a propagator bulb for the cuttings and would say this lamp is very good for both but like the sun more than anything. I would say 10/10 rating.

My Samsung Phone btw never worked right and always came back from BT saying no fault, but we have repaired it, yet it kept rebooting and freezing say 10 times a day while I had it. Gave in ventually. Having said that a relatively balanced video and it is nano metres the wave length of the light. Your video dosen't show but full spectrum LED lighting has to be a mixture of LEDs because by the very nature of their construction LEDs are narrow spectrum.

    Im fairly knowledgeable about lighting, hps mh and LED also and ive gotta say these are amazing lights, why you say, well they use Samsung diodes meanwell drivers have have a higher output than very expensive lights ( like HLG ) they have 2.7 umol which is extremely high, a SF4000 is £450 & compares to a industry giant ,Gavita.... these people supply huge green house's with 1500 plus lights however they are far from cheap, when i first see a SF1000 i was gobsmacked at how cheap they was and to be honest dismissed it simply on price point, ive since seen people have tested this light ( shaun at migro + others) a SF2000 draws only 402 watts but compares to a 600 watt hps in lighting output but without the heat and the actual light is useable ( its not producing like a plant cannot use).... honestly these are lights to look into,you will not be disappointed at all !!

I too having one at home but its a different brand for my hot peppers plant .Sir, my question is it important to ON the grow light for 24 hours whole day or only at night .As you know in Malaysia during daytime its pretty hot.Can I place my hot peppers outside and indoor at night time.Pls give some advice thankyou

    • @simplifygardening

      If its hot the peppers can go out in the day, then bring them in you want to aim at around 16 hours of light for the peppers and 8 hours of dark if you provide that with the lighting when it goes dark to give 16 hours then allow a day night cycle

Watch plants for drooping ( light too close if not due to other reasons ) and showing deficiency ( led CAN be mounted too close ( too much light ) not just cause of heat, to many par means plant tries to grow quicker than it absorbs nutrients. At ideal height your plants should reach to the light, leaves pointing up, but not so much that growth becomes leggy.. hope this helps

      @@simplifygardening no way dude, in a 4x4 tent you would need 4 of these minimum, and STILL be low par for budding given that at flower you would need to drop the height to 12" or less to get enough par and that lowers the effective footprint. In a 4x4 you would ideally have 6, but for that price get the sf4000, ( $800 vs 6x 200 ) there are better and cheaper options quite literally. I had an SF600 watt spiderfarmer light and 3/4 of the diodes don't work and it gave me an electrical shock. I would never buy from this company again and the build quality was bad as is their guarantee, as they want me to pay shipping both ways and handling fees and repair fees! So don't think the 3 or 5 year guarantee will get you a free replacement if it goes wrong after a year as it wont. I was very interesting up until you said they put clear epoxy resin over the LED Samsung chips because this isn't about making them waterproof it's about making it so you can't solder new LED chips in, you'll have to buy whole new light.

My set up barely lasted a year and once I finally got a hold of customer service I could not believe that I had to pay for repairs when I’m under “warranty”. The 3 year warranty is very misleading since the true warranty is 90 days and after that you need to pay for shipping and the repair costs.
