Can I just say seeing them do Theresa’s hair before her date is so heartwarming. Such a nice change from seeing the girls on Bachelor get mad and cry that they don’t get the date
This season is so great because these people have had life experiences. They’ve had heartbreak, they’ve been in love, they’ve faced complete turmoil and still showed up here with hope. So much better than a 23 year old saying she’s waited so long and wants to “finally” find love.

I want Gerry to stick around in the franchise even after his season is over. Not sure in what role, but in the two hours I’ve watched him I’ve come to like him more than any other bachelor franchise contestant. All of them combined, actually.
It’s the maturity and life experience. Most 20 & 30 year old men have not lived enough life to have gained the wisdom to speak authentically on the topic of marriage

Standing is one thing. What's scary to me, even with the younger bachorettes is climbing up & down that step platform. No one ever looks as they are focused on the bachelor. That's an accident waiting to happen. (One slipped off the back once, but she was a bit tipsy) Why not chairs in front, tall stools in back? Anything but that step-platform!

I am all for Golden Bachelorette but something tells me casting won’t be able to find a group of men in their 60s and 70s that are the same calibre as Gerry and these women! They lucked out with Gerry I think - he is not your average 70 year old!

Totally! It is so stereotypical that many older women are vying for one man and it would be great to see the opposite!
I've been telling my husband during both episodes that they don't seem to be adapting this very well for old people. Staying up so late, so many stairs in the mansion, BUNK BEDS!?, standing for so long, etc., etc., just has me worries about their poor bodies!
I think this sheds light on a bigger issue/convo around how society treats its elder population

The bunk beds is the most damning of it all. My mum doesn't even bend that much anymore so I can't imagine her climbing up and down😭😭😭
Well, Gerry wants someone fit and active. Most of these ladies are 60...the oldest remaining is 71. He's 72. I think that you're confusing sixty-somethings with ninety-somethings. I'm 61 and do CrossFit and indoor climbing every day. Not everyone is S.A.D. and arthritic!

I definitely agree. I feel like getting emotional in general should be normalized as I feel like too often we are pressured to remain composed for appearance sake. I recently saw a comment elsewhere where someone criticized the person in the video for crying as it's "not a good look". Everyone experiences/expresses emotions differently. Just because you either can't relate or aren't the same. Doesn't mean it's invalid nor should they be mocked/shamed for it. Especially men who are sadly discouraged from crying because it's considered "not manly". Let's all be more respectful and understanding ❤ We aren't all the same

Agree! It's a breath of fresh air to see more maturity and vulnerability. I can watch this show entirely,but find the younger version of Bachelor Show with too many whiny and competitive, gossipy gals. Age changes people.

I feel more invested in Gerry and these ladies in just two episodes than I was for literally ANYONE in an entire season for Clayton.
No drama. No bullshit. No two hours. Everyone is supporting each other. The lead is genuine and lovable. I love it.
The wholesomeness was almost overwhelming. Something so beautiful about their hope. Hadn’t realized how much I missed it.
Every minute of this was pure gold. The pacing was perfect, every scene was meaningful, and every contestant was fantastic, I absolutely loved it.
I'm in my 50s and thought I'd never ever be a contestant but ... I'm thinking after seeing this, I could change my mind!😮

There’s a lot to be said with this show and how good it is and how well it’s being received given there is next to no drama, which would normally be considered the main viewership pull.
Honestly? They should take notes for the regular seasons.
It's only the 2nd show. The drama will come out later when they start getting competitive.
@@peekaboots01 see, I don’t know. They didn’t really even show any real interpersonal drama in the season preview so if it is there, it’s not the focal point. There isn’t even a villain yet, if there even will be one.

Can we get a Golden Bachelor in Paradise after next season? I LOVE this show. I want every season of the Bachelor from now on to return with this format. It’s about love and human connection again instead of created drama and Instagram followers.
I love that when these older people go on dates, they like actually do something relevant to their interests lol, it feels more relevant so far compared to “I’m Canadian so let’s drink syrup” or “let’s go on a yacht because that’s cool, not because I do anything or know anything about boats” like the regular franchise
I feel like there isn't a person on the production team that has a bad back, or joint issues, or is above the age of 35. I'm middle-aged, and I wouldn't be able to walk after standing about for like an hour and then sleeping on those beds. I can only assume the bottles of painkillers are being passed around like a bong.

Anyone else notice how 1 contestant just disappeared this episode ? Mariana ( the one who said that her daughter said Gerry is dope) was given a rose last episode but was no where to be found this episode
I read that she decided to self eliminate due to a situation with her family. She felt she needed to be with them right now and that was her priority. There's a video on Instagram of her talking to him on FaceTime.
The one who wanted the bottom bunk because her knees also disappeared!
I LOVE the season. Gerry is such a good listener and he's just so sweet. I hope tptb see that people actually like just having a nice time and it wouldn't be the end of the world if more seasons were like this (regardless off the age of the lead and contestants!)

I haven’t cried as much in my entire time watching the Bachelor franchise than I have while watching the Golden Bachelor.
Clearly, Gerry is completely comfortable with women. He seems to understand and be able to relate to them. Wish more men had that ability. Also, great to see the women treat each other with kindness and no obvious nastiness.
Maybe having two daughters gives him the ability to appreciate emotions.

I LOVE THIS SEASON AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!! Garry is a such a gem, the way he cries after he sends them home is so sad yet so sweet. I love him and love all the ladies on this show EVERYONE'S SO NICE!!!

I cried so much watching this episode. I thought it was especially sad as a woman when (I believe it was Ellen) said he made her feel special and she hadn’t felt special in so long. Women in our society are often forgotten, tossed aside, told they have no value after 40 and this hit me so hard. I was happy she felt special but sad it had been so long and that that is what made her cry. How lonely that must be and how many of the women expressed being lonely. It just made me so sad.
Your videos have always been enough for me but this season I feel like I actually need to watch! There's just so many wholesome and beautiful moments.

Also on the original season of the Bachelor, the ladies got to sit in chairs during the rose ceremony and I enjoyed that immensely. Here it would be far more practical for the gals! Also why not do a 5 PM rose ceremony. Our gals gotta have some sleep!

This has been so fun to watch with my daughter. Emotional but yet uplifting. I am sure there will be some drama but nothing like in the regular shows. Watching BIP afterwards is like 😵 reverting back to childhood tantrums….

Great season but I wish it was longer. Even a half hour longer would help. I feel I am not getting to know them very well.

In the version playing in my head, I see Production getting put in their place by all these lovely, secure, mature women every time they tried using the usual shenanigans to stir up drama, like:
Production: Gary is talking to that other woman, but I bet he would love it if you went and stole him right now
Lady: Honey, that's rude. I'm sure your mother taught better than that. How would you like it if someone did that to you? Now, be a dear and get us all something sweet to munch on while we wait our turn.
Not a lot of things I love more than people being called out on things like that, lol. I hate how these shows encourage the fights and drama. Maybe (at least some of us) want to watch people actually looking for love. That's why this show is such a feel good watch. The friendships within the group of girls is heartwarming. Especially considering the fact they're all competing over just one guy
