So, what it is about: the workers elect representatives among the people they know and have the right to rake votes back if the representative goes against the electorate. And the representatives do it too, up until some high point. So, technically, there us hierarchy, but not going from above to below. But yeah, I agree with you that the message is weak

I don’t believe it’s in the American interest to maintain overseas colonies such as the Philippines. America can be self-sufficient without overseas holdings, so my position is more strongly isolationist. Territory overseas is a drain on the American taxpayer, and can potentially draw American lives into wars fought over territory that isn’t even near the homeland. So no. I do not support the restoration of the American empire, rather, I support its end.
