Every fanmade episode i've seen is so lore accurate that I just immediately accept it as canon

This show really needed a third season to let Ford breath as a character before reintroducing chaos like weirdmageddon. I also think it would’ve been a good way to flesh out the other two journals.
Yeah that's the only problem I find with just the 2 seasons, is how Ford and the Journals weren't fleshed out more. Ford is fantastic and deserves more development.
At least we have a bunch of GF books and stuff that help with that! ❤
The cast of gravity falls nearly died multiple times cuz of overworking on the show.
Although we all would have loved a third season of this show, especially for more character development, I wouldn’t want to force it because of the burnout the cast got from it. I’m glad they were still able to work through it and still make an awesome show with only two seasons. Though I still wish there were more fan-made episodes on the internet, because we’d get to see what ideas others had. Sad that I can’t find any others besides the ones made by this guy.
Something tells me we might still get a Spinoff, but probably not a season 3! We could see more of the first two journals-despite them having been released, we could see the black light stuff and even see more hidden codes :3

there is also another high quality fanmade epiosde "return to the bunker" but that one kinda ruins ford's character and has a cringe ending. this one is seriously underrated
I like the part of Ford explaining the spacial anomaly thing to Stanley
It actually makes sense in the show cuz the Shack is often way bigger on the inside, with entire exhibits, a show stage, and that giant mirror maze
I guess what I mean is it’s a clever way of clearing up the inconsistencies with the shack
i always thought there was a basement and thats where all the huge exhibit stuff was

Since Gravity Falls is the center of all weirdness in the show, I always thought that Ford built the Shack using some sort of non-euclidean wood or something
The only inaccurate thing I find from this is that Stan doesn't trip that much. He's a boxer, it's part of his life to have good balance and footing. But overall, very impressive! 👍
To be fair he is in his 70s, he isn’t gonna be as balanced as he used to be

Another inaccurate thing is that leprecorn doesn’t play Danny boy it specifically said in the journal that it plays it nonstop
I audibly cakcled when Ford fell into the bottomless pit with "dangit how did I forget about this"
I've actually always wanted to see Ford and Wendy interact on the show. So it's nice to see it happen in this.
A lot of this episode are things that we wanted to see happen with Ford in the show, but just never did (Like him meeting the townsfolk for the first time since his return, and them reacting to him)

You really nailed the Stan twins' mannerisms lol 21:12 with Ford choosing the most dramatic option while Stan goes through the hole that was literally already in the fence
I WISH that Alex would've done a Stanley and Stanford adventure episode. I know we got the comic of them as kids, but something like this would've felt so natural for the show, instead of Roadside Attraction or something. But yeah, this is fantastic! Well done! Filled a void in my heart I didn't even know I had! 💜

@@zetaabsbs2329 As a Season 1 episode, yeah. It just felt strange for things to go back to normal again. Especially for Stanley, who after years of forcing himself to learn something he was never interested in just to find his brother, only to be met with spite; a more accurate next episode after Ford's arrival would've been that episode where Stan got jealous and decides to run for Mayor. Or this.
Plus, the show never really touched on Ford's character-- _especially_ Ford and Stan's relationship. It's kind of why I felt that Stan's outburst against Ford felt a little too shallow. I get that Stan's supposed to be shallow, but all his anger against Ford is justified, I just don't really think it was executed well since we don't actually get to see more of Ford and Stan.

*September 14th*
Picked up this odd plant at the store today. Its blossoms strongly resemble an eye. I took it home to study.
The plant is alive! The eye has begun to move around. Is it observing me?
*September 16th*
Ever since I picked up this plant I have begun having strange dreams of it appearing before me and repeating the phrase “Feed me, Stanford” over and over again. [What?]
Is it craving BLOOD?
It was simply asking for some water.
*September 19th*
The plant has grown considerably over the few days, the pot is getting too small. I’ll replant it outside.
*DO NOT PLANT IN OPEN SPACES*
As soon as I took it out of the pot, the plant began growing rapidly, and created a body for itself. It even started to grow minions to protect itself. Of course I acted quickly and pushed the plant into the cooler I always keep nearby. It quickly withered away, while the minions scampered off. The seed survived, going to [throw] it away.
*WEAKNESS: THE COLD; DO NOT LET IT WARM UP.*
*September 20th*
Today I woke up to the minions rummaging through my home, searching for the seed. When I approached them, they shook some leaves off their [back], which then came to life and started to dance. Very distracting. Apparently even the minions can create their own minions. I reacted quickly and burned them in my fireplace.
*September 25th*
No further incidents took place, the seed has been safely stored in the basement. Note to self: never buy flowers again, under any circumstances.
The blood part sounds like Little Shop of Horrors.

I know this is 3 years old now and I'm sure someone mentioned it, but I just had to say that it was so genius to chock up the weird design of the mystery shack to 'space anomalies'. Its just such a smart way of explaining why the mystery shack's design changed so much in the original show, I can't believe I'm only finding this series now!

You have no idea how long I've waited for a Just-Stan-And-Ford episode. These two deserve their own miniseries.
The Journal page was so accurate-looking! You guys did your homework. AND great setup by showing us the context of Ford's nightmare. "Aren't you a sight for sore EYE?" But seriously, if that's the case, then Ford's life totally sucks. He's getting it from every side. I do love how you explained why he's sleeping in his lab coat...on the couch...in a super-awkward position...wow, Stanley.

Thank you! Part of the reason why we chose to do this plot was to explore the dynamic Stan and Ford had during this time period of the show, which was unfortunately never focused on because they were kept apart. (Though I get why, it was pretty tricky to not have them talk about their issues, so we just had them interrupted whenever it was brought up).
But yeah, we tried to keep the continuity between the show, Quest for the Northwest, and also the real life journal 3 as intact as possible, so hopefully it now seems seamlessly integrated into the canon.

Thanks for the link. Skimmed over it, but I have to say that we already have our own story for Deep Woods planned out, and have started writing scripts for it over a year ago, so we're not really taking suggestions for it. I'm pretty proud of what we came up with, and I hope you will enjoy it too.
Couple of things though: We will stick as close to the tone of the original show as possible. We wanna do a Gravity Falls sequel, and by switching up too much, it wouldn't be the same. Some of the things you mentioned in the doc are things we wanted to do anyways, so if you notice any of those, it's not that we took your ideas without telling you, trust me.
We are gonna introduce a few new characters, but not just to mix things up, but to play into the plot. We are still mostly going to rely on those characters that people have come to know and love already. There's still a lot of stories you can tell that develop these characters, and we will try our best to do so. They will continue to learn and grow, and change over the course of Deep Woods.
Also, we included the Durland and Blubs thing because it's something Alex Hirsch would have done if he could, without the censors jumping him. We don't have censors, so if we want to be more explicit with Blubs and Durland, we would do that. Now, of course we won't do everything that Alex would have put in, to keep with the spirit of the original, but we will play it a bit looser with what we can put in. After all, the kids are growing up, only makes sense to have the show grow up with them.
The fact this all seems fairly in character for them is insane, it feels like a canon episode

Seriously, it's awesome that you guys are making these. Sure, they're not fully animated but who cares, that would take forever and this is still so good, they feel almost like real episodes! Truly amazing work, thank you for making these.
This episode was great and the jokes were funny! A wonderful focus on Stan and Ford. I also loved the moments with Wendy and Mabel that happened. Plus, this was a good way of showing what happened before "The Last Mabelcorn" in canon.

Stan is one of the biggest cheapskates ever. He charges people for the most basic things. Like 5 bucks a hat or sticker. It takes money just to enter. He forces sues to work as weird stuff all the time
And beyond that, he will ruin other attractions and vandalize them for more to go to his place. He is insanely cheap.
But he has a heart of a very nice uncle

When they were hunting the plant minions I saw how gravity falls has a way of fixing it's own weirdness.

I'm just sayin', if the Society of the Blind Eye is worth their spit, I'm pretty sure they would have spared Gordie from having to remember the tragic events of Summerween. Even so, I love the callback joke. These episodes are nothing if not well-researched. Also, good job finally explaining how so many secret rooms fit into the Shack.

So hey, I know it's kinda weird to ask in the comments, but are you looking for an audio mixer or assistant editor for the series? The audio certainly seems like it could be improved in further episodes.

Oh, this is fantastic. The pacing could use some work (I watched it on 1.25x speed and it was much better) but the voice acting, art, use of classic Gravity Falls music? Very well done.
Well, my birthday came early. To give my abridged thoughts, this has amazing quality just for the sake of what it is. And i didn't expect it to be a direct paralllel to ''Quest for the Northwest''. Kudos to everyone involved.
This is so well done! Really felt like a lost episode pitch. Pacing and timing all around felt so natural and new ! Astounding work on everyone’s part!

Like previous episode, quite impressive accomplishment that deserves more attentions, in my opinion. Extremely detailed for animatic as well, overall story is believable as canon with in-character dialogs, and canon musics are well used(Ex. Stanley's battle rumble moment in Mystery Shack with mutated plants). It's great to see and know about Deep Woods and what you guys have accomplished! ;)
